I write this in my…read morethird month of recovery from the PAO and arthroscopy surgery: I am relatively young, in my early twenties, and never had surgery in my life, so the idea of getting TWO surgeries (Arthroscopy and PAO) was very scary. I also had another issue where I could not accept blood transfusions of any kind. That also added to my level of fear and distress. The idea of a minimally invasive PAO is not something I had heard of before and was very anxious. However, Dr. Garabekyan was SO patient in answering every question I had. His assistant Susie was also amazing and gave us anything we needed. When in the hospital, he frequently visited and called to make sure that I was okay. As expected, my hemoglobin did drop, but thanks to the salvage saving method used, I never had any critical blood loss/feel the side effects of anemia. I felt very, very minimal pain. The medication prescribed was perfect. The "hard" part was the period of 1-2 weeks after leaving the hospital, as sleeping was very difficult due to being a side sleeper. Dr. Garabekyan's advice (using many small pillows to relieve pressure) will helped getting through the night a lot easier. Another thing that amazed me is that he would answer our questions even on his vacation time. His recovery process was VERY well detailed, and we never needed to guess on what methods of recovery he wanted us to do. I have been to many hip doctors at Cedar Sinai and other hospitals, and I've never had a doctor as caring and patient as Dr. Garabekyan. Choosing him to do the surgery was the best decision I could make and I'm so thankful to his excellent communication skills, and of course his incredibly awesome assistant, Susie! :)

The doctor was OK, but places like that feel like a factory because, well, they are in a way. So I did way too much research and decided to pay Dr. Rosenzweig a visit. Everything was spot-on, from the staff to his manner, care, detail, and patience explaining the situation. Dr. Rosenzweig is indeed kind and warm and he's also incredibly skilled and knowledgable, which is the kind of deadly combination you want, as opposed to a factory worker with a ninja suit. He took the time to work with me and listen, as opposed to me feeling like I'm on an assembly line. He's truly what the entire medical community should aspire to be, and it's clear that he isn't trying to get as much money as he can from you (in my case he firmly recommended no surgery) but instead wants to take the time to truly understand what's going on and do what's right. He's got a good sense of humor, as well, which seems to be somewhat rare with other orthopedists I've seen, for whatever reason (though, to be fair, showing up in a clown outfit and putting on a bad Icelandic accent might not be the best idea when you see doctors). Highly, highly recommended.

I cannot recommend Dr. Marc and Dr. Joe at the Stem Cell Institute highly enough…read more After suffering an MCL injury, I was weighing several options, including surgery and wearing a CTI brace. Rather than rushing me toward an invasive procedure, they took the time to truly listen to my goals. As someone who wanted to get back to an active lifestyle and back on the ocean as safely as possible, they carefully explained every detail of my ultrasound scans, the specific damage to my knee, and all of the available treatment options. I never felt pressured. I felt educated. Together we decided on regenerative treatment, giving my body the opportunity to heal itself. Six weeks later, I'm back on the ocean riding my board--something I wasn't sure would be possible so quickly. What impressed me most was their honesty. At my follow-up, they told me I was healing so well that I didn't even need another treatment. That level of integrity is rare. It showed me that their priority is the patient's outcome, not selling additional procedures. I appreciate the time they spent with me, the patience they showed answering my questions, and the genuine care they demonstrated throughout the entire process. They were recommended to me by a friend who had an outstanding experience, and I'm grateful for that referral. Now I'm happy to pay it forward. If you're facing orthopedic surgery or considering your options for a ligament or joint injury, I strongly encourage you to consult with Dr. Marc and Dr. Joe before making a final decision. It may not be the right solution for everyone, but in my case it helped me avoid surgery, get back to doing what I love, and let my body heal naturally. I couldn't be more thankful.

All 4 had told me the only solution is, to cut off the ligament so I would not be in pain but my wrist will be unstable for the rest of my life. I couldn't live with that solution. So when my brother who is a neurologist recommended for me to see Dr Modabber, I did. He said we are going to handle this conservatively and if it doesn't work we can go to the next step which is surgery. But he said I feel you'll be fine without surgery. He was right and my wrist healed, it did take a while but now 4 years later I am back to everything I did before as well as power yoga. Thank you Dr Modabber! You are not only a doctor but a healer.

I've had 2 prior spine surgeries which were laminectomy and laminectomy revision. I was told my only option after that would be a fusion. Although I live in Long Beach and had limited time to visit in person, Dr. Melikian was kind enough to initiate contact via email and responded promptly. He arranged a quick phone consultation at no charge. He came across as very amiable, genuinely concerned, and highly knowledgeable about the subject. During our conversation, he brought up additional tests and treatment options I wasn't previously aware of. The call was definitely productive and appreciated. My only gripe, generally speaking--not specific to his practice--is that stem cell treatments are exorbitantly priced and not covered by insurance. Expect to pay anywhere from $6,000 to $9,000 or more for various stem cell treatment options. So, not a go just yet until I figure out how to come up with the money, I will have to live with my back pain.
