A sports bar in a great area, gotta give them their credit for this set up. Both a huge outdoor patio, seating inside, including barstool tables, and group tables, they also have a dart area and skee ball, and huge flatscreens both indoor and outside. Their big draw for drinks is there beer selection, but they do make cocktails from the full bar as well, I would advice against wine, I think they had two red blends and a sav blanc as their only options on that end. Their food menu is hits the spot when you're a few drinks in, including multiple options (photo of menu included below) for shareable food and personal items. Their wings were delicious so I would highly recommend getting those if you need something to eat. Only annoyance about the food is that it is cash only on the food side, they do have an atm near the restroom, but it is a little inconvenient. They take cards at the bar, and you can even open a tab, but not when you need a bite to eat. One time I came through they had a food truck meet up in their parking lot, so you had tons of options for food, I think they do it in the summer, I hope they bring that back because what a fun idea. I have been here a few times now and always had a good time, I wish they had outdoor heaters for the winter but the area is pleasant. I would say that this is what you would expect of a college bar mixed with a dive bar vibe. If you want something fancy, this is not it, but if you want a dive experience with cheaper drinks and bar food then this may be your spot. It's free parking but the parking lot can get kind of cramped and crowded so just be aware and be mindful. But in the Atlanta area, it's free so I have to mention that LOL. They have a very large outdoor patio area. So you can go from inside to outside seamlessly. It's pretty large and a lot of times you'll see people hanging out in groups that start on the inside and end up traversing to the outside. But there is plenty of space. They have indoor and outdoor seating and some TVs as well. So if you wanted to watch a game this would not be a bad spot to pick. The indoor has a lot more space in room than you would think if you're looking from the outside so don't be scared off by that. They have plenty of space. There's a stage area where they have couches, which seems like it doesn't really belong in that area because it's not fancy enough at the couch LOL. They have some games thrown in here and there so you can play some games with some friends. If you chose to bring them. They have a sitting area which is where you order food and eat in that specific area. It's not a lot but it's enough table tops. They have two bars, basically next to each other, so if you don't get the service as fast as you want to want to buy then you can go to the other. They have pretty cheap drinks all things considered. Even though when I was there I only got shots but they weren't like $15 a shot so I wasn't unhappy LOL. But everybody who was working there at the bar was super cool. Super friendly so that was a plus. I was was able to get some food and some drinks and sit down. Even though at the time that I was there, it was very loud and boisterous. It has a specific type of crowd. So if you're not into the early twenties, this may be a little off-putting to you. They're a very young crowd, I didn't know this before I went in, I was just looking for a spot to go get something to eat at. We tried going to one spot and it had a line coming out of the door so he kept driving and happy to find this spot. It's bar food, fried. You have wings and burgers and cheese sticks and things like that. So don't expect anything fancy. But if you want something with grease and it's to soak up some liquor, this would be the menu for you. It was actually pretty crowded. Actually it was super crowded when I went so it took a minute to get up to the bar and I don't know if they necessarily handled the bar crowd efficiently or effectively but they did it as fast as they could. This may not be my kind of spot to go to on a Friday or Saturday night because I feel like it's very likely to be overly crowded. Hell, A mosh pit May rise up and then what? LOL!!? But for what it was, you have to respect it for what it was, it was okay and I can't be mad. The burger I had was pretty good too. Honestly. Fries are crispy, no complaints about that. I was out with my boo one day and we were looking for a quick dinner, so we wandered into neighbors. They have a large patio and plenty of seating indoors; most people were on the patio, but we chose to eat inside since it was very hot that day. We ordered margaritas and some other basic mixed drinks, but none of them were really good so I took off a star for that. The tots with queso were amazing, and it just happened to be trivia night so we had a great time. The bar tender and trivia host were both friendly. We will definitely return to enjoy the trivia, but might stick with beer or shots next time. read more

This place was okay. The venue itself is awesome. It is super big and has lots of outdoor seating. The bartenders are not very friendly. Specifically asked for a tequila soda with patron, paid for it, and was given and very disgusting tequila soda with bottom shelf liquor. This place has a very busy patio, but TV's so you can watch sports games. The inside has some fun games such as skeeball, shuffleboard, and darts, but only one skeeball works and there is one shuffleboard table, so since it is pretty busy you may not get a game you want to play. Getting drinks can be a little slow when busy as well, but the atmosphere is pretty relaxed. There is a lot of parking, which is helpful, but it is easy to walk to from Virginia or Poncey Highland. read more

Never in my life have had a more ridiculous experience. Bought tickets to a comedy show, left to get water and a drink in the other side of the bar. I was there less than 2 minutes after being in the building only to be asked by two unnamed men with no uniforms on to immediately leave. When security pressed the issue, it came from a bartender who couldn't differentiate their customers. We will not be back, ever. read more

FOOD POISONING. I ate here on a Sunday around 6pm and by midnight my stomach was cramping up so bad and I was projectile vomiting for about 20 hours and couldn't even hold water down. .For reference I had the chicken philly with a side of okra and my boyfriend and I shared some totchos. He was fine but I Never had stomach pain that bad since I had the stomach flu 15 years ago! The food was alright but boy do I regret eating here. I lost about 4 lbs. 81/100 health score I should've known. Be wary of these late night spots they probably don't spend a lot of time cleaning. I would not recommend eating here at all. read more

I came to Neighbor's on a Tuesday night for trivia. We thought it would be a small crowd based on the number of full tables in the area where we sat, but once it started, we discovered that there was apparently another room full of people (who absolutely kicked our butts). Trivia was in a different format than I was used to - it's played with three rounds, each with four questions from four different categories, and a bonus question following each round. Within each round, teams "wager" points on each question, assigning 3/6/9/12 points to each based on level of confidence. More of a gambling style than I've ever played (and we got burned by not assigning the 12 when we were pretty sure and being stuck with it at the end), but still a good laugh. We ordered food and drinks while playing, and all arrived quickly. I had a turkey club sandwich, which was absolutely massive. I could barely fit my mouth around it. The side of sweet potato fries were a bit lackluster and didn't have a ton of flavor. Neighbor's does have plenty of beers on tap to order by the glass/pitcher, and all at very reasonable prices. Our waiter was kind and split the check for the group once trivia finished and we were ready to pay. I'm not from Atlanta so can't speak to their bars in general, but I didn't enjoy the fact that smoking was allowed indoors. All in all: the food was solid and the experience was fine. This place is just not my cup of tea. It has a really cool country dive bar vibe though, but I just couldn't get into it this night. We got here later, probably around 10 or 11, and I feel like this place may be where you want to start your night. One of the bartenders was rude at first, but she got better later on in the night. This place has skee ball, which was what we did mostly, along with sitting out on their huge patio. It was a cooler night, probably around 37 degrees, and they only had 2 of their heaters going. A worker noticed one was running low on gas, so he did come to exchange the tank. I feel like if I was from Atlanta this would be a really cool regular hangout, but if you're coming from out of state, it's just too slow paced. read more

This is the most racist place I have experienced in a while. Where do I start I wish I could rate this place -0.. we walk in after tailgating to get drinks and watch the 4:30p.m. game. Well no one never acknowledge us at first until about 10min later. But 2 waitress wasn't even standing 1ft away from us and never said a word. Then a waitress finally comes and I ask what kind of Tequila do you have she says Tito's??? Tito's is a vodka.. I asked her 3 times and she continue to say Tito's.. she finally brings the Tito's and water and I say I want a small chicken nacho and she walks off?? Yes its 2 people sitting at the table and so I go get her and say well we wasn't finished ordering she looks crazy then finally comes back and say What's up??? What the hell no apology or nothing.. Two stars because I really enjoy the ambiance of the patio and love to grab drinks and food from here in house and never had an issue. However, I found 2 hairs in 2 separate meals ordered via postmates a few weeks ago. An extremely long one was found in my sandwich and I was horrified (see photo). Packed separately were an order of fries which I ate a few and found ANOTHER hair that was shorter in. I was legit so grossed out I threw the entire order away. Postmates refunded a portion of the order but clearly sanitary measures are not being followed in the kitchen if hairs are being mixed into the food. I've been here enough times over the years, albeit at distant intervals, and I can honestly say that, for what it is, Neighbor's is a good little spot. It's in that area where Virginia-Highland, Midtown, Decatur, and whatever is south of Midtown (Grant Park? Inman Park?) converge. This is a basic neighborhood pub with the typical pub alcohol offerings as well as burgers, sandwiches, sides, and other types of comforting enough food for being a pub. The age group tends toward the younger end, but it is very diverse, something that Atlanta does not pay lip service to. But, most of all, what I have liked about Neighbor's is that it has always been very casual in every which way ... in the service, in the simple nature of the menu, in the pricing, in the terrace that is out front (which is something seen both in town and in the suburbs here), and in other ways. So, then, what do I usually order? Oftentimes, it's a chicken sandwich, fries or tater tots, and a soft drink. For around $10 (without the beverage), it makes for a filling, but not overly filling, meal. I have never eaten inside. Each and every time I've been to Neighbor's, the weather has cooperated! I also like to sit on the patio to keep an eye on the sled, even though Virginia-Highland is a nice area. The last time I was here, I had an excellent server, a transplant from the Northeast. Yankees in Atlanta are great! They like to tell you their story of their migration to the area if that's where the conversation goes. And, having once gone through it and it being a very interesting trek, I'm not at all opposed to hearing about theirs. But, when it's all said and done, this place is aptly named because it is neighborly ... the atmosphere is very relaxed and people seem to be having a good time, with a decibel level that shows that without being raucous. With 30+ beers on tap, a fine selection of bar games (including an Xbox One), Trivia Tuesdays, and arguably on of the best patios in the neighborhood, I can really see the appeal of Neighbors Pub, but fuck this generic, forgettable shithole y'all can have it. I've walked into the soggy alley to the right of Neighbors on my way to questionable activities / iller restaurants for damn near three years and never found a reason to disrespect myself by walking in. But is the unexamined life even worth living? Would sunny days be special if it weren't for rain? Sometimes you must remind yourself of darkness in the world, lest you cease to think it exists. Darkness exists, dear reader, at Neighbors Pub. As far as neighborhood establishments go, I can't stand this place. It is, like much of the Highlands, dedicated to the fond memory of a particular college experience, as evidenced by the curated list of shooters and bombs on the menu, albeit presented to a post-college tax bracket. Whereas I may have never paid more than $2.50 for bombs in college, here they are $9 and lame. 5 of the 8 bombs drop into Red Bull because imagination is at an all time low, and I suspect the people who really enjoy this place also really enjoy Red Bull. This place is like the worst bar you went to in your bar crawl. The one where's you're insanely drunk and still think, "Ugh, why?" Neighbors does get props for their patio, but I haven't enjoyed anything I've ever ordered here. Even the Tecate was ruined by a $4 price tag. My G, I'm not in Dubai, or Bartaco. Chips, salsa, queso, and guac were all straight, sour BOOTY. Ate the guac anyway because I can't waste an avocado but the salsa tasted fresh from the Great Value jar and the queso was served hot n fresh out the microwave. The menu is like Where's Waldo, except Waldo is a decent offering. Isn't this place Atkins Park's lil cousin or something? Can they steal some of their menu? The server gets props for effectively taking orders and bringing food to the table, but LOSES THEM ate trying to overcharge. My guy, the hustle never stops, but don't ever play yourself. If you absolutely have to have a drink on a patio in the Highlands, there are much, much better places to do it. But if you hate yourself, and everyone around you to the point of self-destruction, go crack a cold one at Neighbors! Parking is excellent. read more

She would roll her eyes at us, we tipped the first four times we got drinks but every time so would give us an order wrong. The last time we went to order a drink, she told us we wouldn't be served because we haven't tipped her and that we could go to a different bar if we didn't like it. You guys need to talk to your staff and let them know that we wont be tipping if the service is bad and if it comes with an attitude like hers. That's why we went to the other side with another bartender who was very nice and tipped her. read more

Worst experience I've had on this side of town. Came on a Friday night with a group of friends for a round of drinks before going out and was expecting a fun and casual time. After ordering 2 drinks, a girl was rudely told she wouldn't be served because she was "too drunk and not capable." This led to confusion and us letting our 24 year old friend have some of our drink, which led to her being told "if you take a drink, you will he kicked out" by the bartender. Isn't it humiliating to be told you'd be kicked out for ordering a drink at a casual neighborhood spot? To top it off, I approached the front of house manager about the situation who politely listened for 5 minutes until she told she was "busy" and avoided the situation at hand. This bar does not look out for people with valid concerns or people willing pay money to spend time there. Would not recommend. read more

My late night dining partner and I ordered what seemed to be a simple drink request: sparkling water. Little did we know what hilarity would ensue as a result. Several minutes later our server returned with two largish bottles of Acqua Panna; no glasses, no bottle opener and definitely no lime or lemon wedges. My eyes met DJ's as we considered how to open our water. She made a prescient comment then: "This water's probably flat" conceding that sparkling water is probably not a common order at Neighbor's. Once we were able to flag down our server we asked for a bottle opener and some glasses and limes. Server: "They aren't twist off?" Us: "No..." Pouring the water into our glasses it became immediately apparent that our water was sin gas, or not sparkling. You might have guessed that already because Acqua Panna is still, spring water. With an order put in for loaded pub tots, chicken tenders and hummus, we laughed and enjoyed our water under the moonlight. When the food arrived we tucked in, oblivious to the folks around us. Well, all except for one. He was inebriated and kept commenting on our french fries. When we were done eating the server came around and asked if she could clear. I suggested she give our leftovers to the drunk guy at the nearby table. When our gift hit the table he was super pleased and started shovelingour cast-offs into his mouth immediately. We smiled; far too much food goes to waste in the world. To repay our kindness, he had the server bring us another bottle of water. Now when was the last time a gentleman had a bottle full of Acqua Panna sent to your table? In sum, Neighbor's is a great spot to spend a warm night, munching on decent pub grub late at night. So it's really all about the patio. I actually think I went inside for the first time and was none too impressed with the interior, but nothing compares to basking outside in an Atlanta springtime temperature on a Friday afternoon. . . and apparently we weren't the only ones with this idea. Envious of frolicking weekday lunchtimers lounging on patios across the city, I was glad to finally be one. Luckily, the patio is about three times larger than the interior to accommodate us all. . . and even if plastic patio chairs don't make for an attractive space, you won't mind so much once you're comfortably seated in one. There's a decent variety of beer on draft and bar food galore - and the free wi-fi is quite neighborly of them to boot. read more

She let them know but didn't want a change or anything, just wanted to let them know. When we got the ticket for it, "RudeFloridaGirl" was written on the ticket. Smooth. Real smooth. Its funny how people who have lived in Atlanta a long time have predetermined opinions of restaurants by the people who hang out there or the neighborhood the restaurant is in. Re-evaluate Neighbors. This isn't a place i'm coming on a date or when i'm craving nice fancy food. I don't come here for the fanciest new cocktail in Atlanta. This is a place I'm coming when I have 5-10 people, we want some simple bar food, pitchers of beer to go around and if its a nice day - plenty of patio space. Neighbors delivers on all of those things whether its daytime after a festival, or late night laughs with a group. If you have 5+ in your group, the speed of service likely goes down, though I can't say I've personally ever noticed. Probably because this is not a place that wants to draw you to saying something about their remarkable food or decor, but more because they let you focus on the reason you came. To hang out with friends and share a laugh or two. Treat it for that purpose and you won't go wrong. Expect anything else and it won't go right. read more

Just because bartenders have lots of tattoos doesn't mean they can ignore you. Even when they're not busy, asking to change one of the 8 tvs to a different channel is too much. We didn't eat anything, but their beer selection is very good. A bit of something for everyone. The music is hit or miss, sometimes it's 90s hip hop or 80s rock, but other times it's loud metal. We had a chill Sunday at the bar with Amber, two bottles of spectacular $16 white wine, and possibly the most delicious salmon sliders with a creamy tatziki on pita points.
