On an occasion where she was showing me two apartments that were far away from one another, she paid for an Uber for both of us to travel to the second location. She answered all my questions in a timely and helpful manner. Torea recommended me a lot of restaurants and grocery stores in the areas, as well as transit options and parks. She was up front about the broker fee for certain apartments, but also offered options that didn't require the fee. Once I decided to sign on an apartment and sent in my application, Lana, the owner, took over. She was kind and supportive of my move and new apartment. She approved my application and readied the lease very quickly afterwards. While reviewing the lease over coffee with the landlord, we had lovely conversation and she answered any questions I had. Sometimes so strongly a smoker might as well be sitting on my couch puffing away. For someone like me who's allergic to cigarette smoke & gets asthma from it, this would absolutely have been a dealbreaker if I have been told the truth when I asked. There are also features listed on their postings that they know aren't true, like saying a pet policy is "unknown" for a building they've been an agent for for years that has a very strict no-pet policy, or laundry facilities where none exist. Be careful. UPDATE IN RESPONSE TO OWNER: There wasn't a smoking policy rider in the lease even though it's been legally required since 2018. Unfortunately, I didn't know that it's a law until after I moved in. Both the landlord and you should have known that, considering it's your job. And rider aside, I was literally told by your associate that smoking wasn't allowed when I asked during the showing. The rider wouldn't have even been an issue if I hadn't been given that initial misinformation by your company. Maybe you should confirm building information before putting it on your postings or telling renters things that aren't true. As I mentioned in my first review, laundry facilities was one of the amenities on the posting, which is also completely false & had been for years, as well as the pet policy being listed as "unknown" even though it has a strict no-pet policy. Renters have a hard enough time in this city without brokers who lie to them. Do better.
