Last month I visited this thrift store with my elderly mother. When we entered, we noticed a…read more"service dogs only" sign. My mother has a legally recognized service dog in Massachusetts, so we didn't anticipate any issues. We spent about 15 minutes browsing and had items we intended to purchase. When my mother's back started hurting, I grabbed her small dog to help. At that point, two employees approached us in an aggressive and confrontational manner, demanding to know why she had the dog and insisting it needed to leave. The way this was handled was extremely upsetting and, frankly, humiliating, especially toward an elderly customer with anxiety in the first place. Rather than addressing the situation respectfully, we felt singled out and surrounded while simply trying to shop. I ended up taking the dog out to the car, and we left shortly after. Unfortunately, this experience completely overshadowed what should have been a simple visit. Between the high prices and the way customers are treated, I would strongly recommend choosing one of the many other thrift stores in the area. Compassion and basic respect go a long way, and this was a very disappointing experience.

It's also not spotless and not extremely well organized (except for the clothing sections), but it offers great bargains. There's an entire ROOM dedicated to clothing (see pic for pricing). There's not much in the way of furniture for sale, but the friendly staffer told me that will change in approx 3 wks. Currently, you can find medical equipment, housewares, glassware, games, books, videos, costume jewelry, baby items, lighting fixtures, lamps, small appliances, & decorative items, etc here. Don't bring a sweater as the building is not well air-conditioned, but do visit if you love thrifting...& want to pay it forward!

The store is very full, because of these prices. These items are given, they should price items to move them on. I saw a Brahmin purse priced at $150. This wasn't a big purse and I believe $75-100 would be a fair price and move quick. I saw a purse $58 As Is written on the tag! Glass items priced $28-58.00. I walk in, would love to buy but not for these prices. The store needs to reconsider there pricing and clear this old merchandise and collect a fair price. I was told at the Hospice Thrift by the DMV. They do not reduce Chicos brand.....what!! Even Chicos has a sale! Lol. The Hospice Thrift in Lady Lake i feel is reasonable and they really move the merchandise. Please rethink and make changes to help the people who want to help by purchasing but cant.

We were in a long line of cars but they took us in order. It was worth the wait. Sadly people just don't care and there's an overwhelming amount of feral cat colonies in Ocala. Thanks to this shelter we can get them spayed/neutered for free. I can't imagine not having them in our city.
