Tasiti is the woman I booked with. Her credentials were solid and I wanted someone with a lot of natural hair knowledge. I got lucky with her, she is spectacular!. Although every woman there has knowledge and experience, I'm sure I would've enjoyed my experience with them as well. But Tasiti took the time to ask my preferences and got to know my hair. I ended up adding more services while there! My protein treatment made me forget my age , I wanted to take selfies and post everywhere online like a kid. My hair after my flat iron feels silky smooth and even my partner was afraid to touch it for fear of messing up the perfection. The products used by this salon are great as well. Some backstory (if you care), I'm originally from Houston and moved to DFW in May 2022 after getting married. I had been going to my Curly Hair specialist in Houston since 2016 and tried to continue going after moving, but it was just not practical and sustainable with my hectic schedule. I knew I needed to find a new expert, but I'm sure everyone reading this understands how stressful this process is. I did extensive research to find a DFW Curly experts and came across 2 options and Lorens was one. She actually even recommended the 2nd person I was already eyeing in case her own availability didn't work for me - shows you how sweet of a human and supportive of her fellow curl experts she is! After looking at reviews, pictures, her socials etc I booked an appointment and I am thoroughly satisfied! My curls have been on a journey since 2016 and she took the time to understand that journey and me! She is truly more than just a hair stylist. Although I had experience with curly cuts and other curly hair related appointments in the past, she still treated me with the same amount of care and educated me and made me feel amazing about my hair and self when I walked out! During the visit I pointed out to her that the braids were very large at the top and skinny from the middle to the bottom. I was so exhausted by the end (after sitting for 7 hours) and confirmed all was okay but I cried after getting home and looking in the mirror. I've been to a few blowout bars such as Dry Bar and Blo in Dallas but I've always felt that my experience with the stylists there are impersonal. Bear was easy to talk to and did a great job with my hair. The studio itself is decorated nicely inside and has the same fun energy of Bishops Arts district. I also appreciate that they have evening hours so I can make an appointment after work. Beware that parking on a Thursday evening was really tough!
