I haven't had my haircut in over 4 years so I was really nervous but Jackie was so amazing and really listened to what I wanted. She also gave the best head massage while washing my hair. Found this studio on Groupon and purchased a basic blowout. My stylist was Bear and I love how my hair turned out! I think my hair still looks great 4 days later! I would definitely go back! I've been to a few blowout bars such as Dry Bar and Blo in Dallas but I've always felt that my experience with the stylists there are impersonal. Bear was easy to talk to and did a great job with my hair. The studio itself is decorated nicely inside and has the same fun energy of Bishops Arts district. I also appreciate that they have evening hours so I can make an appointment after work. Beware that parking on a Thursday evening was really tough! They have a shared lot with multiple businesses but it may have only had 8-10 spots. So street parking is what I was left with. I almost caved and valeted after circling the area multiple times until I saw a car backing out and got their spot. read more

I decided​ to call around at last minute as I wanted a trim before heading out to an event tonight. Esoterica had plenty of availability so I thought, why not? As soon as I sat down​ and Megan started working on my hair​ with clippers I had a bad feeling that I made​ a mistake. The place was pretty much empty apart from one lady having her hair colored. Megan took to me with the clippers and was moving way too fast. I felt like I was a sheep getting​ sheered, way too rough. A few minutes into the cut Megan stepped away and then came back and asked me to follow her out to the back room. This is where she tells me the clippers got suck and a bald patch was cut into the side of my head. She said I had some product in my hair and the clippers​​ got caught. I could not believe what I​ was seeing in the mirror. It was a perfect large square​ bald patch with no way to fix it. I told her she was going too fast and not paying attention. I proceeded to take my gown off and walk out of the place. I had to go to another​ barber and the only option I had was to have the sides and back of my head shaved. I actually found this place by my friend stopping a girl in the street and asking her where she had her hair done. It's amazing. The people are amazing and you can tell they know what they are talking about. My hairs super difficult to lighten (it pulls red hard) and they were very receptive of my knowledge of my own hair (most places nod and smile at me like why would I know anything). Kaity did my hair and kept raving about Megan's skills as well in case you're looking for names to go to. Kaity did and amazing job and just has a great warm personality. I went there to get my keratin frizz control treatment and bangs cut. The place is decent and I had one of the best interactions with the stylists out there and I got the same day appointment. Megan did the work and after 5 hrs of the time my hair is worst than before. She was really nice to talk to but kind of harsh on the hair pulling it and detangling it rather roughly. They did make me sign a page that if I don't get the blow dry from there and Keratin does not work they do not have any liability. This should have set some red flags but I was really looking forward for a non frizzy hair and a style which can be supported by smoother hair. Now after the wash, It feels more dry and it is 4 5 inches shorter ( which I clearly mentioned I did not want ). And the bangs obviously doesn't suit with the frizz that is not at all gone. I have had several keratin smoothing treatments done before which I mentioned in the form that I filled. I also told the same to stylists. So I understand that it just reduces the curls a bit and makes hair softer with less frizz and a little more manageable. So now I don't know if this fact was not considered while handling the treatment but for sure the keratin did not seal in as it is supposed to. I reached out to Salon and Baylee spoke to me and asked to send before after pictures and promised she will get back on it. After sending the pictures and waiting for more than a week I called back and got an email response that they can offer me keratin express treatment knowing fully well I was in Dallas only for visit. I really wish I would get this done locally. Will recommend people to look out for the mistake that I made before going there. read more

I wasn't able to make an appointment at my regular salon to I thought I would give this salon a try because it was rated so well. My appointment was made with Megan. I really liked the look of the place and everyone was friendly. Then the disaster began I showed the picture of the cut I wanted which was a Bob. A cut I have gotten at least 15 times because of the maintenance alone. I told her I didn't want it any shorter then what it was. What happens? She tells me she has to cut it shorter then I wanted. The cut did not have the shape it should have. When completed I told her that I wasn't sure about how the front looked because it was flipping out . She looked at me like she didn't know what I was talking about and was trying to flat iron it into shape. Which you shouldn't have to do if done correctly. This girl was so distracted the whole time yapping it up with her coworkers. She seemed to be rushing through the cut. As a matter a fact I hadn't even sighed my receipt when she was already out the door. I called my previous hair dresser and asked her to please fit me in to fix this disaster. By miracle she was able to make it presentable. The back was uneven and the layering looked like my hair was chopped up. I can't believe I had to pay $75 dollars to get worse haircut I have ever gotten . Then pay $50 dollars somewhere else to get it corrected. My hairdresser thinks that she must be good at something else like coloring for her to charge so much to give such horrible hair cuts. You can see the difference in the shape of the cut in the before and after I had it fixed. It's all chopped up . What a expensive nightmare ! read more

I just separated from the military, so after 8 years of wearing my hair in a bun every day i was ready for something different. First of all, it made me extremely happy to walk in and see every stylist with bright colorful hair, to me this mean't they clearly aren't strangers to color. I told Megan i was open to any color. This fabulous person took my (tan/cool-toned) skin into account and went with a forest green. I have had soooo many compliments, people keep stopping me to tell me how my hair compliments my skin. Even my 80 year old grandmother said it looks great I also got a beautiful, super sharp, blunt bob (omg adjectives). I'm of the white/black variety and have tight, fine curls that I frequently abuse with a flat-iron. It is extremely important to me that I not walk into a salon and see a look of terror when confronted with my hair. They didn't act like my hair was struggle they have to deal with, they just rolled with it. So THANK YOU! I had the lovely experience of Baylee doing my cut and color. She was so sweet and patient throughout the long 5 hour process. (I have a lot of hair!) The salon was super clean and all the other stylists were extremely nice and quick to pitch in when Baylee asked for someone to rinse me out. Kaity is an absolute pro stylist. She's all about precision and finding exactly what I want. She's opened me up to trying new styles I've never tried before and I get more compliments than I have in my life, hands down. She also gives the best shampoo head massages! Although I've only had my hair cut here, the two women (Abby and Megan) that have cut my fine, limp, straight hair have done a great job. The price is reasonable too. I couldn't exactly describe what I wanted the first time, but after showing her a picture, she knew exactly what to do and made the perfect recommendations. I went from a brunette/blonde grown out ombre to a beautiful red-violet, and she made it so easy. I would definitely recommend if you're looking for a fun color and need direction. She also made great recommendations on how to style my hair that are easy and fit into my low maintenance routine. Very disappointed....Went in for my hair appointment to discover they were letting my favorite hairdresser, Kim, go. I'm sure they were aware they were going to do this before I arrived and made it a very uncomfortable situation. They tried to claim that Kim was sick but discovered by a very upset Kim that was not the case. Used a Groupon for a keratin treatment, trim, and complimentary glass of wine recently and was not disappointed. The entire staff was very personable and my stylist Bailee did a great job! She spent so much time making sure my hair was perfectly covered with the treatment and styled (which can be a challenge with how thick my hair is). I would recommend asking for her her because of how great her end product is and how highly she was concerned with matching and exceeding my expectations, but it also helped that she was so easy to talk to. Never left a review before but this place was amazing. Important things first, the haircut was amazing. Kaity Christine was the one who cut my hair. She's incredibly friendly and more importantly is a great hair stylist. She's very helpful and informed me of a lot of facts I never knew. I walked in an hour before they closed (w appointment) and my bf and they treated me immediately. I used to think to get a decent haircut you had to go to a snobby place uptown but I was wrong. I felt way more wanted and comfortable here immediately. Laity attended to me quickly and offered to cut my bf hair after she was done with mine so we thought why not. She was amazing. She didn't rush, she made sure I was 100% happy about my hair and his. My hair never felt so amazing before and I got exactly what I wanted. His hair came out just as amazing.
