A++! Somehow google sent me to Nectars website where I placed my lunch order ... very similar menu to a local cafe named Nectar as well, unfortunately, "local" to me is 2 states away. Sigh. I want to give this place a 4-star or 5-star rating, I really do! But I cannot in good conscience do so. I have been here a couple few times and each time, I have to wait at least a half an hour for my food, even if they aren't terribly busy. I've been the only person in there and had to wait 20 minutes for a smoothie. Smoothies don't take 20 minutes to make, even if you're digging around your freezer at home because you can't find your frozen strawberries (and that includes the time it takes to clean out your blender when you're done!). I believe they are woefully understaffed for the amount of business they get. Two people taking care of 8-10 orders (just the people standing in the lobby - not including any online orders they may have received) is probably what is causing long wait times. As a matter of fact, I ordered my wrap and smoothie online at 10:30am and was told to pick it up at 10:50am. It wasn't ready until 11:05am! So even though I showed up at the proper time, I still had to wait an additional 15 minutes. And this isn't even the breakfast or lunch rush! Get it together, people, please! Imagine the customers with only a half hour lunch break. They either wait on their food that they paid for (yet still won't have time to eat it) or they are late for work and get in trouble. SMH. As for the food, it's okay. I got the green tea smoothie with one of their fat burning/weight-loss additions and I subbed the soy milk for fat-free vanilla yogurt. Not terrible. The wrap was hot and fresh, I will give them credit where credit is due! However, it really could've used some hot sauce. I really need to start carrying a bottle of Texas Pete hot sauce in my car for such occasions. read more

I love having a healthy option for my meals when at work and I forget to pack a lunch or don't have time. Between the salads and paninis there's bound to be one that piques your interest. They also have a great deal where you can add a smoothie and a bag of chips as part of a combo for a discounted rate. They're very accommodating on modifications to the menu as well if requested. Only downfall is how long it takes to prepare the food sometimes, always good quality though. All of the smoothies are incredible. Located on Massillon Rd just off 77 in the ever growing City of Green( yeah, we have side walks now wow!) Nectar has been serving happy locals for 10 years now and this place ain't goin nowhere but up! Didn't have time to meal prep for today?! No worries my man Nectars got you. With over 20 fresh and tasty smoothies to choose from there's something here for just about anyone. Just hit the weights and need some protein to replenish those muscles? Sounds like you need the Body Builder smoothie. Just woke up and need a little kick in the rear end? I'm thinking you could go for a Raging Red Bull smoothie. Trying to keep it clean? Not a problem, Nectars got your back. Now you don't need to be a gym rat or run 5k's daily to enjoy this place. Nectar is simply a place to go if you're trying to keep it on the cleaner side. But wait, smoothies aren't the only thing this place has going for it. Not a smoothie kinda fella eh? No worries! Nectar has a very nice selection of cold and hot wraps, salads and paninis. My go to is the Totally Turkey wrap loaded with turkey, bacon, avocado, tomato, onion fresh spinach, sweet bacon dressing and basil pesto. Now this place isn't exactly big by any means and tends to get crowded at times and why wouldn't it? this place is GOOD! The parking can be a little tight at times as well and turning left on Massillon can be a challenge so be careful. For no particular reason I have never been one to frequent these fruity tropical cafes and have always preferred my fruit fresh but the more I try these fruit based smoothies the more I enjoy them. I stopped in at this location because I craved something cold and refreshing and somewhat nutritional. This little shop is located in a strip mall and is more of a store front than a sit down cafe although there are a few small tables scattered about. The staff here was friendly but somewhat preoccupied with their own conversation but that's ok I just wanted a Mango Tango and the place was completely void of any other customers and it was clean so I am sure they were bored. My smoothie was perfect and very refreshing so you won't hear any complaints from me. A restaurant who labels themselves "healthy" but uses processed frozen chicken strips.. The grilled chicken is compressed chicken parts, with painted on grill marks. It's disgusting! Today we are talking wraps and smoothies, and the place that does it best is Nectar. What is sad is that most Akronites have no idea this jem resides just a few miles south in the little burb of Green. I haven't tried everything but I haven't tried anything that I would not order again. The "Totally Turkey" is the wrap that sold me on this place and I could not wait to return and indulge myself with another. This wrap is overstuffed with turkey, bacon, red onion, avocado, tomato, spinach, bacon dressing, & pesto. Yes I know... bacon twice! This is where turkeys dream of going 11 months out of the year. Speaking of dreams.... "California Dreamin" is next on my list to talk about. I am not a foo foo kinda guy and the only reason I even tried this is because Nectar catered a local conference that I attended and I did not make it to the tray in time to get my "Totally Turkey" fix. I returned to my seat discouraged, staring at this thing that had craisins, a bunch of green stuff mixed in with a perfectly good chicken, goat cheese, pecans and what I would find out later was a Caribbean-mango dressing. THIS WAS AMAZING! I now have a wrap that not only can compete with the "TT" but has become my new favorite. I will be honest, I cannot tell most tropical fruits apart, but I know I like and I have liked all I have tried. The only downfall is that it is primarily a carryout place. They have a couple tables but I have never seen anyone sit at them and I would feel awkward eating there with the workers looking on. I have always had a great experience and great food here but my last time here was awful. The cashier was super rude. She did not greet me when I came to the register and didn't even ask me what I wanted to order. She just stood there waiting for me to say something. Love, love, love it! I probably eat there once a week on average. It's just so convenient since my chiropractic office (Boggs Chiropractic in Green) is in the same plaza. Used to love this place but they have really been slacking lately. This is what they call a Caesar salad?! If I wanted some chicken and romaine, I would make it myself. Disappointing. Have always been highly satisfied with past visits to the business. The food is very good and the smoothies are delicious. In the past I have always had satisfactory customer service. However, in my most recent visit as I was leaving the business one of the young male workers made a rude remark, including some very foul language, about me and the rest of my group. I believe he thought we were out of ear shot by this time, but I was very offended. Will reconsider a visit there again if this is the sort of customer service and the sort of people who will be working there in the future. read more

I loved this place until recently. The staff isn't as friendly these days and they don't fill up the cups all the way. Wouldn't be a big deal except the smoothies are pricey so you want to get what you pay for. The hot sandwiches are great tasting, but again, they aren't filling them up as much as they were. I would have to rate the food here as really tasty and i may have been a little hard on them about the 100% healthy. I just really hate when people serve people ice cream in a smoothie and the customer thinks they are doing themselves a favor. But, Nectar shouldn't be at fault for that i suppose. Still don't think it should say 100% healthy though as the macro and micro nutrient profile of all their foods are poor... but then again, most food establishments are.
