The work they did do got the minimum job done. They dug up plants and landscaping to make room for the new walkway and replanted our meticulously placed landscaping in a disorderly way. For example, we have arranged early spring, early summer, and late summer bloomers in linear order so the new blooms cover old withering each season. They just shoved everything back in the dirt in no particular order so our seasonal blooms are mixed amongst each other and bloom and wither in random pattern. They did not use the correct particle sand to fill pavers so that is washing away and destabilizing pavers after a season. The pavers are cut with huge sometimes two inch gaps around curves and edges. Therefore, the team just packed the excessive gaps and asymmetrical paver placement with wrong particle sand. I asked them to back fill under the low spots --probably fewer than ten different sections of a foot or two stretch--under the fence they built so the dog couldn't get out under the fence. That repeated request was ignored/not responded to, although we offered to pay more for the time and materials. We deliberated over a 6 vs 8-foot fence and settled on 6, but they failed to advise that would not provide sufficient elevation above the very high patio they built to re-grade a steep drop off. So we have an awkward foot or so of fence wall above a very high patio that took two more truckloads of gravel to elevate than quoted. And they broke our water sprinkler system while doing the work. So the sprinkler system that worked before they did their work was broken after and they not only didn't fix it, but said it was due to the sprinkler system being old. Well, don't really care if it's old. It worked before you dug around or near it and it didn't work after. You even told us when you couldn't get it to be functional after your guys did the work and somehow fixing / replacing it is still our problem. Overall, a $30,000 landscape and hardscape job was not done as meticulously as we would have expected. Also, future touch points for follow up work--although we had discussed multiple phases of projects before signing on--went ignored. Don't know what Ted's deal is, but I can say for sure we were not particularly difficult or unreasonable, paid the almost $30k on time and without incident vs $23k we were quoted, and still went ignored, under serviced, and ended up with certain aspects of our home left in worse condition than this contractor found it, costing us even more In the long run.

I hired G&Z Tree Services back in May of 2023 to remove 3 trees from my back yard. The quote was…read morereasonable and the team seemed efficient so I chose their bid. The trees were removed in a timely manner, however, there was an extensive amount of damage done to my property. There were a few minor/mediocre damages brought to my attention at first, my shed window was smashed and it's door was knocked off its hinges. The hinges on my fence door were severely bent and two of my gutters were knocked off the walls. The absolute worst, however, was a massive crack left on my driveway​, more like a pothole. When I got home from work, the team was getting ready to leave and Feliciano, the company owner, was not on site. I took pictures of all the damage that was done on the property and pointed it out to the workers that were still there. They seemed like nice guys and assured me they were going to relay the information to their boss. When I finally heard back from Feliciano, he came back to my property and tried to convince me that the massive crack in the driveway could not have been made by his crew. He called his crew and asked them if they remembered cracking my driveway to which they answered "No". At this point I felt like I'd been scammed. Now, I have security cameras for my home, but they are cloud based cameras that only store 60 second video clips when motion is detected, which means that even though I have footage of the team working I don't have video of the exact time the crack was made, and naturally, Feliciano declined to take responsibility unless I could provide video of the exact moment the crack was made. The smaller damages werent extensive to fix but the fixing of the huge pothole lead to and extensive ordeal with my insurance company as well as theirs to try and get my driveway fixed without having to come out of pocket for thousands of dollars. Ultimately, I hired them to do about $3500 worth of work and it cost nearly $2000 to clean up the damages. I would highly recommend, after this experience, when hiring any company, that you have not just short video clip cameras but proper CCTV cameras that record non-stop, because even if the work they were hired to do was done well, if there are any damages to your home, they may very well deny it and you could be left with a headache and a lot of clean up.

I returned home to an incomplete project although he had already cashed the check for the entire amount of the work. I learned a hard lesson, and I will never take someone for their word again. Part of the job involved him and his crew installing a new paver patio area. They incorrectly installed it multiple times and had to redo the job 4 times! Insane. They left a dip in it so big that I could not set patio furniture on it and Andrew told me it "had to be done that way." After I pressed he conceded to have it redone. Again, this had to be redone 4 times!!! It's still not perfect but it's good enough. He and his guys also left cigarette butts all over our yard and when we returned from vacation we also had a crushed beer can in our fenced in back yard. We do not drink or keep Heineken at our home. Second, they had to come back to correct my initial landscaper's poor drainage issue which was worse than previously thought. Donny's crew worked hard to undo a mess from someone else, and the price was fair for the work that they were doing. After all the work they did, the crew cleaned up and did not leave a trace of evidence that they were there. The work is solid, and my yard is looking good.
