DO NOT buy a vehicle from this man or his business, unless you have a current smog certificate from a reputable shop and have it examined by a reputable mechanic. BACKGROUND: Mehran Salami recently sold a car to a friend who is trying to help a homeless person who needs a car. He showed documents that it had passed smog in July 2023- there was only 500 miles difference on the odometer between when my friend took it to be smogged at another shop. Now: it won't pass smog without thousands in repairs. What happened to the car from July to February? How could a car develop major mechanical problems after being driven only 40 miles? Salami had the car's title- but it was still in another person's name. He sold it to my friend as a "personal" sale. This sounds intentionally fraudulent and deceptive: Why would the manager of an "Auto Service and Sales" business do a personal sale of someone else's car- except to deceive the buyer re:the smog problems? And after reading the reviews: it's not the first time this has happened. There are comments from others, describing similar shady deals with other cars sold at the lot that don't pass smog, or were sold without being ID'd as salvaged. Until this man and/or his business are willing to take this car back and refund the money in full: I will be helping my friend to resolve this with state agency oversight, including filing a complaint with the Bureau of Automotive Repairs, and alerting other agencies of his deceptive, fraudulent business practices. If you have had similar problems- file complaints here https://www.bar.ca.gov/complaint

Odometer reading at this time was 102, 916. I purchased this vehicle from Mehran Salami for $2500 cash on Jan. 31, 2024 (2 of my housemates with me), with odometer reading of 103,431. This vehicle was "Not Ready" to Pass Smog on Feb. 7, 2024, at ASAP Smog Test at 1776 Palm Avenue, San Diego CA 92154. Since then, Firestone Complete Auto Care at 950 Palm Avenue, Imperial Beach 91932, has discovered that the rear Catalytic Converter must be replaced (quote $2600), Fuel Injector must be replaced ($484), Spark Plugs must be replaced ($672), and the Rear Main Seal Replaced (Est. $500-$1500). With only 515 additional miles on the Odometer between the 7/15/23 "Passed" Smog Test at Smog Pros and Seller Mehran Salami's sale to me on January 31, 2024, there is no possible way all these components failed since the 7/15/23 "Passed" Smog Test. NOTE: According to his LinkedIn Profile, Mehran Salami is the Manager of M&N Auto Auto Service & Sales located at 344 Walter Way, El Cajon CA 92101, less than a 1/2 Mile from Smog Pros. Mehran Salami listed this vehicle for sale on Craigslist and showed it to me at his home at 16683 Deer Ridge Rd, San Diego 92127, did not disclose that he is an Auto Service & Sales manager.

AND "YOU'RE BEING DIFFICULT" - Paul the salesman lmao BUYER BEWARE OF THEIR 2022 TUNDRA CAPSTONE Came in 9/28/2026 to check out the used Toyota Tundra they had for sale. Met with a salesman named PAUL. Everything went great, I wanted the truck so I told him I'll be back the following day to bring my personal bank check to pay for it. Did a lot of research on the truck, originally a WA title, then MT, then CA. Beach Cities Toyota of Westminster had this very same VIN number truck for sale for ~$46,800. It's been sitting in their lot until Pedder Hyundai bought it and advertising close to $49k. Then they lowered the price, then put it back up. I initially texted PAUL the salesman that if we can start working some numbers out while I was at work, and he basically told me no and to come in, which I did. Came in 9/29/2026 same day I texted him. $3k of dealer add-ons which are supposedly optional but that's not how he presented it. **** He asked me what price I'm shooting for, and I told him $46k before TTL. Long story short, he wrote down $47,800 and I said I'll do $47k and initialed the worksheet. He then came back and said "HELP ME UNDERSTAND WHY PEOPLE COME IN AND NOT SHOP WITHIN THEIR BUDGET." I had a $58k check sitting next to me, but JD power, KBB, NADA, and other comparables are around $46-47k for the same truck year, make, and model with similar miles. **** *** The so-called manager LUIS comes out and basically tells me "MOST PEOPLE COME IN, SEE THE PRICE AND JUST SAY OKAY, ILL PAY THAT."*** Moral of the story, if you get this dude as a salesman, he's got an anger problem and will be rude to you, especially if you know did your research. At $2000 they should be perfect. When I discovered that they didn't fit (they would not wrap around the bottom edge of van siding) I contacted Aluminess for installation help. BTW the instructions for installation are woefully inadequate. Alluminess responded in writing that I should "use a mallet" or "a hydraulic lift" to "force it into place". This does not sound "like it is made to fit" to me so I took the product to a professional van fabricator in Seattle. They wrestled with it for 8 hours eventually getting it to fit but destroying the exterior edge trim in the process. I was told to buy another piece of trim and that they would "cut it down to size" to cover the gap left above the running board. While I'm riding Aluminess I'll mention that the forward sensor mounts in our front bumper were not drilled appropriately. Ford discovered that by drilling new holes in the mount that the sensor could be installed as intended, Thanks Aluminess!!

VW Owners and consumers beware! This is the rebranded City Volkswagen who bought this location/name…read moreto shed the terrible reputation they had on Morena. KM is now under their ownership and this dealership brings with it all aspects of shady and terrible practices. I'll try my best to condense this but its a lot to cover. DO NOT take your vehicle to be serviced here DO NOT work with their slimy salespeople DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT consider one of their "certified" pre-owned vehicles SERVICE:After over a decade of being a VW customer at this location (see former glowing review), I can tell you this is not the same dealership and I was pretty blindsided in discovering this. I've tried to shop around for other mechanics but having a German diesel vehicle has pretty much priced me locked in for services and I liked having all work history at a location. So I did a major service again. 2 Months later, a major fuel-related issue happened while entering the freeway....twice. Given the proximity to the service, it was understandable for me to think 'maybe the tech did something wrong, and quickly brought it in for diagnosis. Without barely looking at it, I was told to replace the in-fuel (low pressure) fuel pump. I was also told the 'good news' there was no metal debris present. I was told this fixes it 90% of the time. Then 30 mins later I was texted again, didn't fix it, we now have to replace the high pressure fuel pump "and see." I stopped all work on it and was now out $850. We carefully drove the car home where it's sat in the garage as I weighed my options. Well guess what? A very kind, diesel expert mechanic was able to come for a house call second opinion. He spent about 5 mins unscrewing the cap of the fuel filter (one of the items I just replaced) and there are metal shards. The car is done. The entire fuel system is lost. And the VW tech stated no metal was found and to just go ahead and replace the HPFP (a job they list as about $5k). Their expert best tech either didn't check a very basic thing, or straight up lied to get me to pay for a replacement that would have failed from a compromised system. VW corporate: This is a very big deal. I am hoping you are paying attention. This is a soon to be BBB claim. SALES: On the day I was told my car needed the HPFP replaced (before learning about the metal in the system) , I considered the option of getting a certified pre-owned electric car that had just come in. It was truly a casual inquiry. The salesman was friendly and down to earth, and shared that if we wanted to put down a deposit, no one else could consider the car (which seemed to be a rare inventory). It still needed to be serviced and cleaned, so I went ahead and did that just to secure a first look. Again, this was a casual inquiry and the friendly guy said "no pressure, if you change your mind you get the deposit back." This returned lease started to rub me the wrong way. In only 2 years it had 42,000 miles on it and it was returned extremely dirty. Carfax showed it was never brought in for service nor recalls corrected. I expressed my concerns and the sales guy just saw dollar signs of a deposit on the car and thought I committed. I wanted to see how it was cleaned up. They rushed everything with that guy seeing it as a done deal. We came in and immediately I saw coffee stains still on the armrest. Couldn't even clean it. The display screen was massively delayed on touch, the compartments abused. When we returned to the lot, the child lock was turned on for the back seat and wouldn't unlock. The guy laughed it off and said something about it being quirky. Was he this oblivious? Smiling, he asked if I was paying cash or wanted to finance. I told him I was not buying this car. Suddenly his demeanor completely changed and he decided to try some gender biased guilt trip on me... "Did I do something wrong? My manager is telling me he thinks I did something wrong." What kind of awful sales tactic is this? I felt like I was on a 2nd tinder date with someone who had no awareness. "Why did you come back then?" He demanded. Um... to get my $1,000 deposit back? Then the uncomfortable trying to sweat us out with waiting and returning with more terrible offers for a defective used car. It probably took 30 minutes to finally get my card refunded. I contacted the service manager about my experience (again, this was before finding out there is metal all over the fuel system) and their new young service manager has zero customer service skills or empathy. He ignored emails and blew me off after initiating another call. I filled out the service survey (they try to guilt you into giving them 5 stars for everything regardless of your experience) and said I wanted to be contacted in follow-up, and nothing. I contacted VW CARE with a thoughtfully written email and was replied to with a no subject canned response blowing me off. VW: You have clearly learned nothing from Dieselgate.
