They're great!!!! Recommend. My wife and I needed a last minute condo inspection and while Aris was booked, his incredibly knowledgeable son, Joshua, was able to squeeze us in less than 24 hours after our initial phone call. Joshua was great! Smart, patient, detailed, great memory, and made us feel comfortable. We're 1st time homebuyers so we wanna get this right, and Joshua made us feel good the whole time, while being completely honest with his detailed assessment. He checked every light, every appliance, used FLIR for every wall and the bathrooms, took apart the circuit breaker to peek inside, took us on the roof, checked the external electrical meter, and a ton of other things. He gave us a solid two hours, answered our questions, our realtors questions, and promised us the detailed report in 24 (to at the very worst 48) hours. He showed up on time, was polite, kept everything clean and didn't bump any walls (which has always been a pet peeve of mine). The reviews didn't lie, this company is legit. And having called 5 places, moderately priced. The lowest I found was $250, the highest was $550, and they were right in the middle. read more

Our realtor recommended Aris from NCSI for our home inspection. As a first time homebuyer, this portion of the purchase process can be quite a daunting experience because I have absolutely no prior knowledge of what an inspector should be looking for and if I would need to be responsible to point out anything wrong I saw myself. It was not the case, in fact the exact opposite working along side with Aris. Aris is super detailed and honest about everything he noticed about the house. He is very updated with all the city regulations and communicated the whole inspection process very professionally. It was quite an educational experience for me! One thing I thought was really cool, is all the techy gadgets he brought with him. He showed me the water moisture level inside the walls with this radar gun and even flew a drone up to the roof to capture aerial shots of any roofing issues. Not sure how many inspectors out there takes time to explain and show all this to their client while on the job! In conclusion, I am very impressed by Aris's work. His price is great! All you are seeing is true, Aris is a home inspector of a different level. The man has a keen eye/experience/equipment and takes the time to inspect many parts of a home down to even the small details. I had my home inspected over a month ago and recently closed on it. I will be reviewing Aris' report again and again as I go through all the smaller things that may need attention. Request a sample report from him if you want an example, and you will be a little daunted at first sight like I was. But take the time to read through what is in there and you will start to see the details that are being pointed out and it won't be as scary as the initial look:) If you just want an "easy to read report" that just gives generic statuses as "serviceable", go with any of the bigger companies who do home inspections. If you want a detailed report to understand what the inspected home is about, have Aris do the inspection. More detailed inspection/report at a good price is what I got from NCSI/Aris. HE SCAMMED A CHURCH! We contacted NCSI aka Mr. Aris Lopez regarding getting an inspection on property our church was considering for purchase as ministerial housing. Mr. Lopez was great on the phone. We set an appointment and we made arrangements on paying his fee. Mr. Lopez and an associate came and inspected the property spending two hours doing so. We paid him as requested doing so in good faith. That is where the great service ended. we set this appointment up for June 22, 2016 and to date we have not received the report. We have called on numerous occasions and emailed as well. All to no avail. We have not received the report that was to take 72 hours max. While Mr. Lopez may be great at inspecting a property, he is horrible at producing a report. We will be seeking legal action against Mr. Lopez and NCSI Home Inspectors. While $400.00 may not seem like a lot of money to others, it is to a religious organization. We can't afford to have money that was given in faith by our congregants be STOLEN through bad business practices. read more

When we started the process with NCSI, we saw the 5-star reviews on yelp and also the strong reviews on another real estate site. The initial sales call and marketing was great with talk about drones, robot crawlers etc. He required up front payment via PayPal, though not as a service. I gave him the benefit of the doubt here understanding the risks involved, but if you deal with NCSI I would highly advise against it. Payment was collected up front, and being over $400 dollars, was on the more expensive end. Aris showed up to the actual inspection, albeit very late, but it seemed to go smoothly. We were given the 48-72 hour time frame, and after 5 business days we received no report. We contacted him, provided an additional 2 days to complete the report. This only led to a series of excuses, and no report ever provided to us. After finally talking with him, he sounded apologetic, and told us that he would provide a refund. However, this was just followed by an additional week of excuses with no refund provided. read more

Today is day 6, and still no inspection report from Aris. Refuses to answer phone calls and respond to e-mails now. He was 45 minutes late to the inspection, and his assistant was undoubtedly unlicensed and appeared to be someone hired at random; he barely spoke English and giggled for 2 hours straight without providing any valuable insight about the property. Requested a full refund. Filing multiple complaints and will take Aris to court. read more

I didn't use this service this time around quite frankly because I didn't need to! I recently purchased a condo and noticed an unusual smell lingering throughout the unit every time I walked in. I couldn't put my finger on it because it didn't smell like natural gas, but it was pungent and irritating. I did what every homeowner does and tried to diagnosis the problem via Google (because with Google, who needs a specialist??) Boy was I wrong. I suspected first that it was mold because there were some traces of previous water damage. Then I deducted that it was formaldehyde because I had cheap engineered hardwood floors probably from China. Then I decided it was more likely a gas leak from my fire place. Sounds good. 3 probable issues, no confirmed sources. I came across NCSI through it's stellar Yelp reviews. 5 stars across the board? Please. I've met too many businesses that coax and persuade their customers to leave them 5-star reviews for special discounts or whatnot. Then I scanned the reviewers to see who actually had a history of leaving decent reviews - yes I am quite meticulous when it comes to researching the legitimacy of a business. Seems legitimate. I sent an email to Aris at 11pm after frantically researching for someone to evaluate my scenario as quick as possible. He returned me email the next morning at 5am (talk about prompt service) and told me, "As much as I want your business, let me try to narrow the source down before you spend your money." That alone was a line and sinker. I have rarely met a service business that would offer advice and help without payment. Most service driven businesses I have dealt with try to force their services on you and then tack on extra costs. Aris didn't. He asked what kind of flooring I had because there could be a chance the smell was from the formaldehyde used in manufacturing laminate floors (see, I was somewhat right!). Came back and told him I had hardwood floors, so he threw that source out of the picture. He politely suggested to contact the Gas Company to have them send someone out to do a free air quality test. Took his advice and low and behold, it was indeed a subtle gas leak coming from my fireplace. Again, while I didn't use his service, he can be sure that I will call him for any home inspection issues I may have! Thank you again Aris! Your honesty and integrity can't be beat! read more

Very friendly and easy going. A good thorough inspection takes a few hours and he was a pleasure to hang out with during that time. Aris did a phenomenal job at our home inspection. He goes above and beyond what most home inspectors do (including ones that have 5 stars on yelp). We had scheduled Aris for a Saturday appointment and an emergency came up (pretty big) so we were going to fine another inspector that could make it due to our contingency period running out. I didn't feel comfortable with any of the others I spoke to. When I was asking someone else about the machine that allows you to look in the wall he stated he didn't do that because it's not required. At that moment I knew I needed to wait for Aris because I wanted someone who wouldn't do just what was required. I wanted someone who went above and beyond to ensure we had a good purchase. After all this is a HOUSE not a pair of shoes! Aris took the time to personally call me prior to our appointment and we discussed everything for almost an hour. He really made sure I was comfortable and explained all of what he would do. The day of I couldn't be happier. He was so thorough and identified every single thing we would need to fix and he patiently walked us through everything. If it weren't for Aris we would have ended up buying a lemon. We used NCSI for our home inspection, from the recommendation of our realtor, Kevin, and couldn't have been happier with the service we received from Aris. Aris was nice, professional, knowledgeable, and helpful. He knows all the current standards. His inspection was thorough from bottom to top (he even used a drone to take photos of our roof). He went through all the rooms and even climbed up into the attic. He used his special equipment to detect heat and see through the walls. Aris is a gentleman, a professional and a damn great inspector! I not only found him to be very thorough and knowledgeable but very easy to talk to, he walked us through the inspection and didn't try to put fear into us just give us the facts and tell us what can be done to fix them. He was also very flexible as we had an issue with our agents and the seller not getting back to us when they were meant too and Aris was very understanding with the 24 hour notice to postpone the inspections. I have used Aris three times so far. Twice for a home inspection (one fell out of escrow, after Aris found so many things wrong with the house) and once during the "walk through". He is knowledgeable and gives you useful tips on home ownership and maintenance of your home. Aris is also great at explaining things and is ALWAYS available to answer questions via text, call or email. We found having Aris at the "walk through" to be very helpful and advantageous specially since the seller did not do a good job on "fixing/repairing" items (FYI: have Aris come for a re-inspection after the seller agrees on fixing items so you know for sure if what the seller/agent is saying is accurate and fixed correctly). Potential homebuyers beware! Aris collected payment (which was on the pricier end of the spectrum) before confirming my appointment and subsequently completed my home inspection as scheduled on 6/24. He was very friendly and explained some of the concerns he had with us on the spot. At the end of the appointment, Aris stated that he would complete and send the report within 24-48 hours. When I had not received the report by 6/29, I started to worry. I left multiple voice messages and emails between 6/29 and 7/1, but did not receive a response until midday 7/1 after leaving a message warning I would revoke payment and leave feedback on yelp due to lack of communication. Aris reported that he had been in the hospital without access to a phone, but had instructed his associates to send the report which he claimed had already been completed. Aris was apologetic for their delay in sending the report and assured me I would receive it before the end of business that day as he had been released from the hospital. As of today (7/3), I have not received the report and NCSI has failed to return any of my phone calls. I am extremely disheartened as Aris' reviews are some of the best for inspectors in this area. However, upon further review I now see that many of these are quite dated. NCSI's repeated failure to meet their own deadlines is appalling. Furthermore, their inability to consistently communicate with potential homebuyers whom are in vulnerable positions by deferring to NCSI's professional expertize and thorough reports to make a huge life changing purchase is extremely unprofessional. I caution anyone who considers using Aris and NCSI to heed my experience and consider exploring other options. read more

Inspection was a week late. Had to beg for an extension from the sellers and pay to have another inspection done because this inspector literally disappeared. Inspector was great at the inspection but it does no good when the report is so late or not received at all. RUN! read more

Used NCSI for the first time . The inspection was incredibly thorough and detailed . They detected asbestos in the attic that I had the seller remove . From start to finish, they exceeded my expectations... to begin, Aris returned my call after regular business hours because he missed my initial call due to phone issues. This act of consideration and courtesy impressed me and it continued throughout the inspection process. On the day or inspection, Aris and Randy arrived before our scheduled appointment...I'm sure because one can never predict traffic and travel time in LA... : ) Only because I had to go outside to my car did Aris come over to introduce himself. I asked him why he didn't come to the door and he responded he didn't want to disturb me until our scheduled appointment! it's a darn shame yelp limits you to five stars because once in awhile, not often, but once in a rare instance, a business TRULY deserves more. Aris was amazing....I mean I think everyone who's worked with him agrees so maybe I should just cut it here...jk We were referred here from another business since they couldn't accommodate our crazy turn around. We were in an extremely competitive bidding war and ended up getting our bid accepted on a friday night, and most businesses are closed over the weekend so come monday morning, i reached out to aris and told him that we have a 7 day inspection contingency window and needed to schedule an appt immediately. not only was he able to accommodate that he also got out our report that same night! we can't say how much we appreciate that bc the report yielded HUGE, EXPENSIVE, BIG TICKET items that quoted up to 30K. We also realized that we needed to schedule a sewer scope at the suggestion of aris and that yielded that our sewer is shot that the pipes are misaligned and roots are growing into them. that quoted around 13K. Needless to say, we walked away from that deal since the sellers were unyielding in how much they can help us. Aris, you saved us from buying a house that would've been nothing short of a money dump. He even personally called us right before sending the report since we are first time buyers and I kind of had a minor freak out during the inspection since a lot of stuff seemed wrong. He personally reassured us that while it's common to find a lot of stuff wrong, there are only a few huge things to concern with. which ultimately led to us walking away from a seemingly "hot" house...a hot mess is more like it. anyway, we CAN'T wait to have aris come inspect the next house we buy. You are an absolute pleasure to work with, endlessly patient and very clear in explaining things in terms that I can understand. ALSO! i forgot to mention, because the appt right before us was a huge complex, aris had 2 other associates with him since they were all coming from that appt so our inspection actually had 3 inspectors! I'm not saying to expect it, but I mean he could've sent them home but we got 3 sets of eyes doing the work. Aris just did a home inspection for a Single Family Residence in Irvine we were in escrow for. I appreciated that he taught me alot about the house and pointed out both the good things to appreciate as well as areas to address. For example, I didn't realize the home was retro-fitted for Earthquake Safety, but I appreciate the extra details he pointed out to me. He also noted one of the roof shingle was lose and lead to a leak in the garage that otherwise may have been mistaken as a non-active leak. I've purchased other homes in the past and used different inspectors in the past, but he is one of the more thorough and very experienced ones.
