Really nice location. Pretty much in the same crazy price range as competitors like Regal and AMC. They have nice clean seats that recline so I will say that alone makes it worth it. The counter staff is usually very friendly and helpful. The bathrooms have always been pretty clean as well whenever I've come. Selection of movies has been dull lately with lots of reruns of old movies and some crummy new releases that I have no interest in. That's not their fault though. They tend to clean up spills and stuff right away. I loved their limited edition seasonal flavors on the Coke machines, and the best perk is that you can get unlimited refills of soda or icee, or you can get one on the way in and fill up with another on the way out! Never seen a theater offer that! I drive over 20 miles from Newburgh just to go to this theater cuz AMC in Middletown has the most disgusting bathrooms and horrible service at the front desk and concessions, and Regal in PK is trash. read more

This cinema is awesome, kind staff, affordable tickets, weekly mystery movies, and limited runs of niche horror films, i go 3 times a week. So happy this theater is and feels like an independent entity and part of the community. My only criticism... and its a fairly big one, is that they oversalt their popcorn to the point that it can be inedible as well as the fact that they do not carry real butter, but if they at least fix the salt part, then it would be a perfect experience. read more

This used to be a regal cinema. It was closed and then totally refurbished and redone by the NCG. This is the only location they have in New York State I believe. The seats are nice and comfortable, especially the recliner seats. The screens are a good size in every one of the theaters. The staff is friendly. Good choices of films as they have 12 screens and often have interesting. Independent movies here. It's the weirdest thing. Have hit this place at peek and dead times. Other than a stupid line it's very ok. All snacks are standard and overpriced but everything is clean and maintained- accept the flavored soda machine. One is always out. Bathrooms always maintained and not had much of a line if ever in the women's room. They fill the premium seats first- cis they rock- but all seats are pretty good. Trash overflowing onto the floor in the ladies room, trash and popcorn strewn about various carpeted areas, and minimal staff, clearly unhappy. This was my first time at any ncg cinema. It was very clean, and I liked that parking was very close to the entrance. It was unclear to me that the only seats that recline are the "VIP" seats, which are genuinely comfortable. The other seats are very cushy (not like traditional stadium movie theater seating) but do not recline. The bathrooms were very clean as well, but it took me 3 stalls to find one that had any toilet paper at all. The others were completely out. read more

Thecemployees of NCG theaters are to be commended for the professional way they handeled the unruly children at the Mindcraft movie on April 27. Before the 4pm show they posted a sign warning the audience not to throw popcorn. They also made a verbal announcement. The children behaved and we all enjoyed the movie. So you suddenly change policy and don't allow unaccompanied teenagers? Your staff are rude to any teenagers that show up that have nothing to do with any problems you might have been having. Now ALL teens have to accompanied by an adult but it is nowhere on your website, so I have to come back and pick up the girls who came to see a movie and instead of apologizing for inconvenience your staff is incredibly rude? usually good. this time we sat for 20 mins after the movie was supposed to start (nothing happened), they said there was an issue loading the film. waited 15more mins. we had to move to another theater and wait 20 more mins. the movie (longlegs) started, no commercials thankfully but also no sound. and all the lights were still on. they gave everyone vouchers and said they're working on it. half hr later, we go see maxxine. which was good. kinda cold in there. carmen and i honestly had a blast. we were entertaining ourselves and playing games and hanging out. funny enough, ran into jack and jordan and their friends there too and went out with them after. What to say this place is a gem, great seats available that recline and even if you don't get the more expensive seating the regular seating is comfortable too. It's hospital clean in the theatre's, bathrooms and the lobby. Great snack selection and quality, fair prices and free refills on many of the beverages and popcorn. While we were there we were the only people in the movie theater. read more

Before I went to the theatre I called to find out when a certain movie times were. A man answered and I asked the question what the times were. . He answered I ask the question and he sounded disgusted that I actually ask the question and said angrily that he didn't have the time and I should go on line instead instead of the 15 seconds it would have taken. Seats are the best ever! Reclining and comfortable BUT the last 2 times we went we have had to walk out and ask them to either start the movie (15 minutes late) OR to turn off the lights because they started the movie and forgot to turn the lights off. The worst movie theatre I have ever been in. The screen is TOO HIGH for the seats. Even though you buy a ticket online you still have to stand in the same ticket line to purchase concessions so what's the point? And when I asked the manager he was incredibly gruff and rude about it. There was no one taking tickets and children are running around which you can hear inside the theatre. But the worst part was there were 20 minutes of COMMERCIALS-not even trailers, which took up another ten minutes--COMMERCIALS!, so the film started 25 minutes after the 'starting' time which made one a captive audience of advertising. Movie theaters want audiences to come back, but this place is awful. Never again. read more

Hubby and I were in the mood for a movie and he said he'd been there before and liked it. We arrived about 30 minutes before our movie started and had no trouble parking. We walked in and chose our seats but it was confusing as we had to keep asking the counter person which were taken and which were not. We originally wanted to get two premium seats but the screen showed them all blacked out which meant they were already purchased so we ended up getting two standard seats. We proceeded to order some snacks and I could not figure out what they had other than popcorn and milk duds - too confusing! We ordered some popcorn, got our sodas and waited in the lobby until we could go into our theater. We proceeded to our theater, found our seats and settled in. I had a hard time getting comfortable at first as I found the seat to be a bit awkward and we were sitting a little closer than I normally like but eventually it was ok. The theater wasn't crowded at all and we noticed that once the movie started people were changing seats and moving from the standard seats to the premium seats. Also right before the movie started some people came and said that they had the same seats as us. We showed them our tickets and they simply moved to the row in front of us which was empty. Not sure if they were told our seats were available at the front desk or if they were just trying to take our seats but we were just happy we didn't have to move. The sound quality and the movie quality were good and we enjoyed it. Once the movie was over we went to sit in the premium seats to see if they were any better for next time and while the seats were larger and reclined the problem was the attached tray didn't move very much and we knew it would be a problem for us trying to get in and out of the seats. All in all, we did not have the best experience for these reasons: We found it difficult to chose a seat as it was confusing. We didn't like that the snack area and the ticket area were one and the same - I could only imagine on a busy night how crowded and noisy that area could get not to mention it was hella confusing. Our popcorn tasted stale and the "butter" tasted terrible. We did not like that the bathrooms were out in the hallway before you went into the theater which meant you had to walk all the way out and come all the way back in - why there weren't placed steps away from the theaters like most other cinemas was beyond us. Finally when choosing our seats why did the screen show that all the premium seats were taken in our movie when clearly they weren't? I personally would not really want to go back to this theater again. read more

Basically Everything here is new. Extremely comfortable seating and Pricing is fair.....(5 Dollar Tuesdays are the way to go). The staff is friendly enough and willing to help you if you so desire. Plenty of parking right outside the doors and I would recommend joining their rewards program as you will be rewarded with free stuff pretty quickly. I would rate the cleanliness a 8 out of 10 from what I was able to see both inside and outside the actual theaters. Just as we started going back to the movies (Pandemic) the Numbers started rising significantly in our area so, back to streaming at home till things settle down and the numbers of new infections start going down. Nice theater. Just bought a large popcorn, candy and a water for $$$. The manager would not let me bring my children's water bottles into the theater. Told me it was a the rules. I'm allowed into Yankee stadium, Flushing Meadows, Barclays Center with those bottles! Places are usually flexible with kids, I have never had a problem. The guy was totally inflexible and said he's following the rules! It's not like we weren't buying anything and already spending money there. He thinks we're gonna refill them with soda. I don't even allow my kids to drink soda!!! And then he says my purse is a backpack (which they also don't allow) and threatens to refuse us service. This place has an awful lot of rules and harder to get into than any sports stadium. And it was an afternoon matinee. Seriously. They've redone this movie theater in Kingston and added recliner seats which I LOVE. My only other option is Middletown which is way too crowded, so I was happy to see these seats here. Not all the seats are recliners though, so you pay extra for them, which is fine! It's just a few dollars more and probably still less than I pay in the lower Hudson Valley! I thought everything was nice and clean and the food options were good, prices are about the same as anywhere else, so I'm happy to go there again! read more

Very happy to have a theater back in this area. NCG did some basic upgrades offering a "VIP" experience with upgraded reclining seats in the sweet spot of the theater. These seats are about $2 more. One odd thing but I enjoyed it, is you order your popcorn and tickets together. Honestly this is smart in a smaller theater as you wait on that line so pay attention and figure out what you want. I did notice that online purchases are more like vouchers as you need to go to the front counter to redeem! When I called to see they are open staff was super friendly as they were when we attended the show. read more

Made it in here right before the virus lockdown. They were only sitting a few people with lots of space between. They have the super comfy reclining chairs here. You buy food at the same counter you get your ticket. read more

This is the best theatre ever, mega improvement over the last one. No matter where you sit you can see the movie, even if a person is big and tall. All the seats are super comfortable whether they are in VIP seating or regular seating. It's all good! read more

Can't stand the reserved seating! What looks like center when reserving on the computer isn't center in the actual theatre. Each theatre is a different size so it's hard to gauge distance from the movie screen on a computer screen. Also a huge mistake not to redo the flat handicapped portion in the middle of the largest theaters which clearly are no longer needed since they moved handicapped seating to the back. Now all the prime seats are on a flat incline and you get heads in your view. And if someone with a big head is in front of you, you can't move. Great for cattle and people who like mediocrity. Call me old fashioned but I hoped for stadium seating and the freedom to sit where I want or to change my mind if the person next to me is undesirable. Really disappointed in what otherwise could be awesome. Seats are nice, theatre is clean, etc. Overall experience is just stressful for me though and I'm still driving to Poughkeepsie for movies! read more
