I Understand that she needed to have testing done which was completed timely. The issue was waiting for the doctor which she didn't see until 11:40am which is an excessive waiting time and unacceptable. Not sure what is happening in the clinic area but whomever is scheduling needs to be more accurate and considerate of the patient's time and toll it takes on them as most are in their 70s or older. I felt like I was being experimented on because no one would tell me what the hell was going on. Keep in mind this was my first eye exam in years, and my second ever, so I had no idea what was supposed to happen during this appointment. I told them this, and they still treated me this way. Horrible overall experience, and I would not recommend for anyone who likes explanations, has sensory issues, or has not been to an eye doctor before. I will never be coming back.

However, the office manager alone with the front office staff and receptionist, Rebecca, were rude and cold. When I asked questions, they became flustered and seemed put off, as if I was inconveniencing them. I had to point out errors in my insurance benefits, which they didn't seem to want to address. They don't appear to prioritize customer needs and seem more focused on overcharging. The common thread in negative reviews is the location, and I think that's accurate.

There were NO employees in sight other than the 2 at the front desk who didn't even get out of their chair. The older lady on the left (who didn't crack a smile the first time either) was downright majorly rude!!!!! The younger African American lady wanted to just hand me the glasses and get rid of me! She seemed very very annoyed that I actually wanted to try them on! Then when the glasses made me instantly dizzy, the older lady kept arguing with me and gaslighting, saying it was just because the prescription changed and that I would "get used to it"!! I kept telling her the prescription did NOT change (and it made me wonder how many kids she had gaslighted into leaving without getting satisfaction!)! The ONLY reason I got the glasses to begin with was that the others had not been adjusted right and they gave me an eventual migraine. But THESE gave me an instant migraine AND made me dizzy! FINALLY a lady employee came out from hiding and said "let me see...". She said the curve had not been taken out - 5 seconds of adjusting... better, but not great. They ARGUED (literally all 3 of them) with me that there was nothing else they could do and that I would get used to it. I had to keep standing my ground - which no one should have to do!!! I felt like I was in a full-on battle! Finally, a guy employee came out from hiding and adjusted them and 10 seconds later they were fine. WOW!!! Totally makes me wonder how many others they have gaslighted instead of just knowing we are not lying or mistaken and just fixing the problem!!!! The office is on the first floor of a larger medical building and that building has plenty of parking. The office has extended operating hours on certain days if you need an appointment outside of normal business hours. I've always been welcomed when I enter the office and fill out any information needed. Then the techs that do the initial tests are very friendly as well. Dr. McPherson has always been thorough and friendly during the exam. I like that there is a new option to avoid the dilation of the eyes. I will gladly pay the additional fee to avoid that.

She prepared me for my consultation with Dr. Gupta. She was very friendly, professional, and thorough. She asked detailed questions about my eyes, diabetes, and overall health. I read the eye chart with her and completed several vision tests. She also applied the eye drops needed to dilate my pupils. Afterward, I waited only a short time while Dr. Gupta reviewed the results of my examination. Like my appointment last year, Dr. Gupta was exceptionally well prepared, friendly, and professional. She examined my eyes using a modern slit lamp microscope and explained everything clearly in terms that were easy to understand. The office is modern, spotless, and equipped with the latest diagnostic technology, giving me confidence that I'm receiving excellent eye care. They also coordinate my care with my UNC Health primary care physician, Dr. Joseph Williams, which I greatly appreciate. I went and needed to make an appointment- a week later 4/21/27 i was examined and I was impressed with all the updated machines. I had to wait a few weeks for glasses to be made, which is not unusual. I then went in and tried them on, these were $900 bifocals with all the bells and whistles, but the long-distance view was blurry. I immediately told this to the woman helping me, but she said take them home and get used to them and if they don't get better, bring them back. After a week, I went back and they gave me another exam, and the results were different from the first. After waiting another week or so, I went back again. the new glasses were fine. However, upon leaving, they handed me the old prescription and did not give me the accurate prescription. All was fine until I wanted to get a pair of prescription sunglasses from Costco. I gave them the script from Carolina Vision and waited a week. These sunglasses were for a vacation planned for the beginning of September to see Ireland. Well, when I tried the new sunglasses on , they were blurry. The optometrist at Costco tested my regular glasses and discovered the the script the I was given was the wrong script. so now i have to go on my vacation without the benefit of great sunglasses . Bottom line - Carilina Family vision looks pretty on the outside, the salespeople are professional, but behind the scenes it is a clown show .
