I ordered the mild pad Thai thinking I was making a safe, responsible decision. The second it touched my lips, my entire mouth was on fire. Not like "oh this has a little kick" -- I mean immediate regret, eyes watering, full survival mode. The worst (and best) part is it was actually so good. Like the flavor was there, so I kept going back for more, knowing fully well I was about to suffer again. We dined in- party of three. Unfortunately one of us spilled a cup of water and there was no one -waiter, hostess ect to ask for more napkins and we had to wait for about 10 minutes with wet pants and a water puddle in the floor. The summer rolls were great. One of us ordered lomein and said it was okay. Another ordered the drunken noodles and while they did say it had a different taste than other drunken noodles they'd had in the past they ate most of it. I ordered the pad Thai. When it was sat down in front of me the smell was so off putting. I tried two bites and it was awful. Very fishy but something else I couldn't place. I let the waiter now and they said the kitchen said they don't use any fish ingredients. Traditional pad Thai does have fish sauce and sometimes shrimp paste but this was different. Also, the water had lots of black stuff floating in it which usually means the ice machine needs a good cleaning. It didn't blow us away- the food or service. I had take out from here a few weeks ago but today I went in for lunch and I was not disappointed. My Son, Ben has 4 kids ages 8 to 2, they really like the food here! This kids are picky too but they are into the noodles! Once again I had the Hot Shrimp Pad Thai, oh so good! Yes, on the spicy side, but it's so good and the portion is more than adequate. I also had the Viet Shrimp Roll, again, so tasty and fresh and comes with a flavorful peanut sauce. If you're coming for lunch, I would say come at 12n or after. They have a very small staff for that first hour and the word is getting out about this great Asian option in Rock Hill. I took quite a few photos so check them out to see the beer options, the inside lay out and a good landmark to locate this place on busy Cherry Road. I cleared up the confusion of the NC in the name. It Does NOT stand for North Carolina, it's the initials of the owners daughter. Mystery solved, you're welcome! Parking lot is large and available for free. I used to crave this restaurant all the time but the last time I went it was inedible. It seemed like they forgot to put any of the flavoring into the noodles and they tasted like dishwasher water. It was so disappointing. The dish I ordered was the Pad See Ew. I ended up eating two bites and throwing the rest away. I also ordered the spring rolls and for $5 for two.... They were a rip off. I was very disappointed for several reasons. Normally I don't write reviews as lists, but such may serve best in this case: 1. Rather disorganized service, and incredibly long (over half and hour and the restaurant was not full, either) wait for my food. 2. The do not automatically bring out chopsticks--you've got to ask for them. Which would be alright if a Thai restaurant but . . . they also don't have spice trays, so not a very valid Thai restaurant, either. 3. Bland noodle dishes and the dumplings tasted like they may have been frozen, possibly store-bought and not kitchen-made on site though I could be wrong about that. They were very unremarkable steamed dumplings regardless. 4. Chicken in my dish was overcooked and tough. 5. Maybe it was just the night I was there, but saw no one Asian eating nor working there--at least not front of house. It's fine to have an Asian fusion restaurant, of course, certainly, but still something more than just lip service needs to be given to the authenticity of the food and the care provided to the preparation and I sensed such was not the case here at all. If this was a counter-service place with speedy service, fine. The dirty menus, the paper napkins and cheap chopsticks (when requested)--all that then would be fine. But if you have waiter service to your table, do better. When a patron requests a spice tray, have one. When you bring him chili oil because that's the closest you have, then bring it at least in ceramic to match the table service and not a plastic cup. Either be fast food or do things right to rise to the level to which you aspire. read more

What can I say, I was totally impressed with the food here for the price point. We stopped in at 3:30 on a Saturday and had a courteous and attentive server who knew her menu well enough to make solid recommendations. The food was hot and spiced to our requested taste and made our blind choice a very good one. They had a 100 for the kitchen inspection and although the furniture is somewhat tired and dated, the restaurant was clean and well lit. We would definitely return and try other selections on the menu and they even offered a veteran discount. read more

So I had a VERY late start to my day, and on my way to the gym, I was craving noodles. I couldn't find any other Asian restaurant that was open past 2 pm...so I ended up here. I've been to its sister location in Herlong Avenue, and was very impressed with the food...so I figured this should be just as good. As expected, the place was a dive...quite bleak, to be frank. It was fairly spacious though. It was also odd to hear Hip Hop overhead in what I thought was an Asian restaurant/ eatery. Maybe I didn't see it on the menu, but I couldn't find the "Hot Pad Thai" that I loved at the other location. In fact, I thought their menu was different than the other location...to the point that I asked the waitress if this was indeed a chain of the other. There was nothing similar about the 2 places, except that they had the same name, and had some Noodle items on the menu. Anyway, I opted to try the "NC Noodle House Special". Well, it wasn't quite what I had hoped. I should have read the details more carefully. It was the super thin noodles in a peanut-flavored brothy base, with a choice of meats on top. Not spicy at all...but very light and peanutty. More Vietnamese than Thai? It wasn't bad, but I just didn't love it. It lacked the deep, rich and spicy flavor, and the richer noodles that I craved. Now, here's something I REALLY didn't like. The waitress was NOT wearing a mask! (SIGH) So now, this happens in 2 restaurants in a row this week...?? Is the pandemic over? Apparently some restaurants seem to think so...or they could care less. The waitress was halfway courteous, but she didn't give me any napkins or spoons for my brothy plate, so I had to ask for both. She asked for a choice of Fork or Chopsticks...and when I opted for a Fork, she just brought out 1 Fork and just handed it to me (without placing it in a napkin). This experience somewhat mimicked the crude service at this Chinese restaurant over the weekend. The difference was that at the Chinese restaurant, I might have hated their maskless service, but the food there was excellent. Here, I hated the maskless service...and I barely liked the food. I may return to the Herlong location, but I'm never returning here again. read more

Relative to this type of restaurant, it truly ranks 5-stars. I had the feeling the chef had grown up in a pan Asian culinary area like Orange County, CA, and had developed a love of Thai, Vietnamese, etc. Tom Kha (coconut-lime soup) is rich, creamy, perfect. The pho broth is dark, redolent in spices, and some of the best I have tasted. The panang curry tastes more like a red curry, lacking clove that should be in panang, but still so delicious. The portions are HUGE, the curry is served in same size bowl as pho. One of the chef's, T, came out and chatted with us a bit. She was awesome. Also, our server Lena, was friendly and provided great table service. I will be a regular customer. read more

Awful doesn't explain this experience. My grandmother, mother, and wife went here tonight and had an awful experience. To start, walking in the music was so loud that they could not hear each other YELL! When they asked to turn it down, the person looked out from the back and rolled his eyes at 3 women asking that. Then they ordered. 1 got the HOT Pad Thai and the others got Pad Thai (level 1). They were eating and the supposed (level 1) pad Thai's were so hot that it left my mom and wife coughing, unable to breathe (this is from the woman who orders a level 5 at Indian restaurants). When they asked about it the server argued with them saying that they must just be mistaken and they just can't handle it. They said that they felt very racially profiled as the "white women who can't handle it..." when that is far from the case. When they asked her to remake it she refused unless they paid for the same meal again. Essentially saying "I'll charge you double for our mistake..." To top that, as they were checking out and leaving, the music guy looked up and cranked the music all the way up. "I couldn't hear my own breathing" This was very disappointing, we will not be returning and will not recommend this to anyone in the greater Charlotte area. read more

Good tasting Thai Tea. Had the Spicy drunken noodles before () but this time around I stepped out of my box a little. Tofu fresh rolls were delicious & the peanut sauce is bomb as usual (). The Bang Bang Noodles were good, but The Spicy Drunken Noodle is still top & I'm def gonna try more items for sure. It's a small, clean place that has modern decor & music. I tried multiple times to call in my order from 11:30 to 1:30 and the phone rang busy like it was off the hook every time. So went in to place my order. I ordered online. The steamed dumplings were the best I've ever had. I usually get the drunken noodles with chicken, spice level 2. This time I had pad Thai with chicken spice level 2. They were scrumptious!! I ate ever last bite minus 2 or 3 pieces of green onion. Aiden, the cashier/ take our dude, is so cool. He's quiet but very efficient. This is probably the worse pho I've ever tasted their meat looks questionable, the hoisin sauce is watery it tasted bitter and expired, dumplings weren't even dumplings they were instant ones I could have bought from the store and heated up in my microwave. When I took the food to my car I could smell the food was burnt, when I tasted a couple of the noodles they tasted so burnt they were not edible! It was completely empty when I arrived at 2:30 p.m. on a Wednesday. Lacee was our waitress, and she was fantastic. She was extremely helpful and accommodating. We got two Phos, one beef and one pork, both of which were delicious and came with basil, jalapeos, onions, Sriracha, and hoisin sauce. My children ordered an egg noodle bowel, which was a little thinner than Ramen noodle but not horrible. I liked the Chicken Satay, although it was a touch chewy, and I'm not a fan of fried dumping, so I'm not passing judgment on it.
