Very nice lovely woman but my overall experience with her was certainly not worth the $450 I paid. I could go into how I was told a two-hour session "typically' meant 25 complete looks but only got 13 after paying for three at $150/hr (even though I did everything I could to prep her including clearly outlining my expectations, style & what exactly it was I wanted; making sure all my clothes, shoes, etc were displayed/laid out/hanging on rolling racks to maximize efficiency)... and how I had to go back and request a second courtesy appointment to get the additional looks (which, in her defense, she did agree to and was very nice about)... obviously not the ideal experience but she did resolve the issue to my satisfaction so at that point, we were square in my book. But then it took THREE MONTHS to get a hard copy of my look book --- the lookbook which was the *entire reason* I hired her in the first place... the lookbook that she said would arrive on my doorstep within a week or so... the lookbook that she says she sent but never actually arrived. (And when I requested a tracking number or the name of the site she ordered it from, I didn't get a response.) I finally got the book after I saw her offering a Daily Candy deal for styling services -- a few weeks prior she had told me she was (understandably) unable to do anything about my lookbook as she was out of town attending to a sick family member. I didn't want to bug her but after seeing the Daily Candy email I figured if she was around to do Daily Candy stuff, she was probably around to send me my freaking lookbook. I sent a cordial yet firm email mentioning Daily Candy and immediately got a response-- the tracking numbers and lookbook (yay! finally!) arrived just a few days later. I get that stuff happens but it would be awesome if people could manage expectations -- don't say it will take a week when it takes a month. And don't make clients chase after you for something they've been promised or already paid for. As far as her fashion/styling abilities, the looks I got were ok BUT I think that's more on me than a reflection of her abilities. I had requested looks more in tune with SF's more relaxed, laid back vibe but a relaxed, laid-back style just isn't me. (I like my tailored/severe/menswear look. Sorry, SF.) The looks were like something you'd see in Lucky -- nice and well put together... just not my thing though. read more

I was finally tired of wearing the same old boy clothes that my friends were wearing. I had gotten out of the military and it was time to upgrade my clothes. Now when I tell ya I needed help, boy did I need help. My tired old t-shirts and ratty polo combinations were just not doing it for me anymore. Along with needing nicer clothes to go out in, I need some clothes that I could use while transitioning to a new job and school life. So I had heard about Nicole from a friend of mine and decided to bite the bullet and upgrade my wardrobe. I had been lucky enough to get a big gift certificate from JC Penny's to help my makeover along due to being in a transition from Military to civilian life Just at JC Penny's I was able to find 10 pieces of clothing along with a pair of shoes, with Nicole's help. Then after that it was off to Consignment shopping where Nicole is just amazing at, I was able to find so many great clothes it was awesome. Finally it was off to do some quality shopping at Bloomies where I was able to purchase an amazing new suit. It was exactly what I wanted, and everything I've ever dreamed of. You know, one of those suits that you can wear in a wedding, a job interview, and shoot, even a court appointment if ya need too. Just amazing, and I am so happy I was able to find it with Nicole's help. Nicole was more then worth every dime I paid her. I feel so fortunate to have discovered Nicole! I cannot say enough good things about her and the work she does. I first contacted Nicole in a state of panic: I was attending the Grammys and numerous music industry events in LA and had no idea what to wear. I'm a suburban mom; my husband is a marketing executive and we were attending for business reasons. For my casual wardrobe, Nicole has purchased items for me from a high-end consignment shop. This has been a great way to add designer pieces while staying within my budget. I've been fortunate enough to attend a number of other entertainment industry events since the first Grammy's panic, and Nicole has seamlessly guided me through the process. She knows what I own and we've been able to add select pieces to build out my wardrobe. In the end, I have definitely saved money through this process. I always thought that my figure is weird, and I can never find clothes that fit me and look good on me, but Nicole has proved it wrong :) Nicole came over to my place for a wardrobe audit, pointed out the dos and don't, and came up with a shopping list. But the real excitement began when we walked into a high-end consignment store (that place is a gem in the city!). She started pulling out clothes, faster than I could try them on... I love the idea of being able to rent a gorgeous dress for an evening, but alas, I'm not a waif and the 0-4 sizing won't work for me. I'm a guy in his 30s. I am a decent dresser, but knew I needed some help to step up my fashion/style. A co-worker recommended Nicole. Apparently two other co-workers, and the husband of one of them, used Nicole and had great things to say about her. Step 1 was a "closet audit" where Nicole came over and went through all my clothes identifying gaps in my wardrobe as well as things to keep/alter/toss. That was two hours and was very detailed. Step 2 was we went to Bloomingdales and for three hours bought all the items I needed, including jeans, sports jackets, dress shirts, shoes, sunglasses, and a full suit. And she was able to get me in early on a future sale, so I got 40%+ off everything! Throughout all of it, I asked a lot of questions b/c my goal was to learn more about fashion and to be able to shop on my own to pick out good clothes. I learned about the "high-utility" items ones needs as a foundation, the different fits/cuts out there for jeans and shirts, the importance of fit and matching clothes to body type, and the need for high-quality fabrics. Also, Nicole was very flexible, She will work within your budget and also your tastes. If you are willing to be edgy, she will go there. If you are more conservative, she can play it safe. If you want her to pre-pick out items for you at the store, she can do that. Or she can just shop with you and pick out things as you go on the fly. And you can pick which stores to go. Lots of flexibility throughout the whole process. When all was said and done my wardrobe definitely was taken up a several notches. My wardrobe now is stylish, modern, and a bit edgy. I joined Yelp just so I could give Nicole a review- if that doesn't speak volumes for Nicole's talent as a professional and as a stylist, I don't know what does. I actually became familiar with Nicole's work as my brother first hired her as his stylist. The transformation she made with him in only one session was absolutely mind-boggling. She turned him from an out-dated, baggy-jeans guy to a stylish guy who suddenly loves tailoring his clothes and caring about his appearance. The positive reinforcement he continues to receive has been awesome. Seeing what Nicole accomplished with my brother was proof for me. I've always been a good dresser. But, with my current work schedule, I just don't have the time, nor the patience to shop. That's where Nicole comes in. In our first closet edit, she quickly went through my closet and we weeded out what was a bit outdated, what we'd be replacing and what staples my wardrobe still lacked. She's a pro at immediately determining where the "gaps" are in ones closet. In our first shop, I just showed up and there was a dressing room full of everything Nicole had already picked out for me; all in my size and all ready for me to try on. A woman's dream! She also stayed exactly within my budget. I was thoroughly impressed. I've done 2 more shops with Nicole and I"m amazed at how my wardrobe has changed. My style is still "me" but it's stepped up a notch and Nicole has pushed me a bit to step outside my comfort zone - every time with incredible results. Nicole is a lifesaver. I've now used her for several different situations and I would recommend her unabashedly. The first time we worked together it was for a wardrobe assessment. We cleared out everything in my closet, determined what to keep, what to fix/alter, and what to donate. In the process she identified key gaps. I'm not a fashionista by any means and so we concentrated on classic items with longevity. She asked all the right question about style, use, and buying budget so all the expectations were set up front (and subsequently met). What I loved about this process is that Nicole has an amazing eye for detail and she was able to explain to me why things looked good or bad, so that I could make better purchase decisions when I was shopping solo. While originally this felt like a splurge, Nicole has discounts and relationships with tailors/stores/cleaners/etc that are time-, money-, and stress saving. Nicole saved me from my high school leftover closet and myself. She shed me of my last remains of cloths I just couldn't let go of, like those jeans you think you will someday fit in again (dream on). She spent an entire day with me and really helped me figure out what I needed to keep, helped me find things I forgot I even had in my closet and could still use and be cool and helped me totally reorganize my space into a functional environment. I am a big believer in Nicole's minimalist philosophy and really had to embrace it a couple weeks ago when she left my house with half of my closet! But don't worry, I wanted her to! ;-) This was the first step in a process I've been meaning to initiate for a long time now (years?) - WARDROBE EDITING. I had so many clothes that I bought half-heartedly because I needed "something" but didn't really know how to shop for my body type or skin/hair coloring. Nicole has helped me immensely in pruning my closet and replenishing it (conservatively) with items didn't break the bank, are classic, enduring styles, and most importantly, are the right cut/colors for my body. Nicole is fantastic! I have had 2 personal interactions with her in the last 6 months. My daughter is 5'11" and finds it very difficult and frustrating to shop. Nicole talked to Megan and then we met her at Goodbye's. Nicole had already selected clothes for her which were waiting for her in the dressing room. Literally everything fit. This has never happened to us ever. I cannot tell you how frustrating it is shopping for someone who loves clothes and is always disatisfied. Recently Nicole went through my wardrobe with me. Nicole is amazing to work with. I am not high maintenance so orginally I thought this was an unnecessary splurge - but it has proved to be one of the best investments I have made! I am a working mother and I really don't have the time to shop. We started off just doing a wardrobe assessment, which was so helpful to have a fresh eye reviewing everything - she redesigned, consolidated, determined what worked with what, what critical items I needed to round out my wardrobe, etc! My experience with Nicole was way beyond my expectations. This was the most efficient, painless and gratifying shopping experience I have ever had. Nicole and I traded emails about what I was looking for (a gown for the Presidential Inaugural Ball), my size, style, etc. and we arranged to meet at 1p on a Saturday in January at Bloomies. She told me it would take her a half hour to "pre-shop" for me and have several gowns ready for me to try. When I arrived, five were hanging in the dressing room. I tried on the one that we both liked the best and that was it. I had my dress and it was 1:10p. She pulled out two pairs of shoes she had found downstairs (on sale); the first one was perfect. I bought my dress, we walked downstairs through hosiery and jewelry - she found a beautiful pair of earrings for $35. I am not kidding: I was out the door and walking to the parking garage by 1:30. I would still be stumbling around in Union Square if I had tried to do this without Nicole. The cost for her services was exactly what she said it would be. I even brought a couple of other outfits to get her opinion, which she happily provided - along with several great ideas for maximizing them with my new shoes and accessories. I came to find Nicole through a strong recommendation from a friend. Having never used a clothing stylist before, I was a bit wary. But I was truly impressed from the first time we met to do a closet edit. It was a truly transformative experience to get rid of clothing that no longer fit (after multiple kids) and which don't suit my current lifestyle (stay-at-home mom). I love having a closet that is now manageable and with only pieces that I actually wear and look good in. We then did a couple shopping trips, which also really exceeded expectations. Nicole is the absolute best! I was in need of a dress for an important upcoming trip and had no idea where to start. Thankfully, I had met Nicole through a friend-who raved about her- and she gladly took on the challenge of helping me solve my fashion woes. She came up with a strategic plan (taking into account my budget, body type, overall style, and time frame), and executed it quickly, professionally, and happily. She picked me up (!) and took me to several stores she thought would have what I was looking for. Knowing I had a tiny budget, she took to a great consignment shop in the city. At first I had my reservations, as all the consignment shops I had been to growing up were all for the 60+ age group. This one, however, was trendy and cutting edge, and had some of the newest designs from top designers. Within the first ten minutes of being there, she had upwards of 8 pieces picked out for me. Since consignment shops don't have extra sizes in the back, she also suggested that if I found a dress I liked but that needed a little tweaking, I could take it to her seamstress just down the street and they could make any necessary alterations (and it would still be cheaper than buying a dress elsewhere!) I never would have thought to do that on my own, but she totally turned me onto this and now I'll never go back! I left our session with a huge confidence boost, a much better sense of style, and a killer dress! I highly recommend Nicole whether you're in need of a dress for a night out or an entire wardrobe makeover. Nicole did an amazing job helping me begin to build a wardrobe within my budget at a consignment store in Pacific Heights. And this was without ever seeing my closet or even meeting me beforehand. After a brief phone conversation and dialog over email, we spent one hour together while I tried on clothes and she educated me on which styles and brands were working (and which were not). In just 55 minutes, she helped me find 11 items from my wish list that fit my athletic build. Nearly every item she had preselected before my arrival fit perfectly. Many were designer items and the total bill was only $600, which was less than I had budgeted for. After we finished shopping, we visited the tailor next door who took in one pair of jeans with Nicole's guidance, the only item that needed alternations.
