Fast forward to today, I reached out because some guy came to service our pool (only knew because I'm home with a sick kid). The owner called me and said we'd been receiving service the whole time (news to us) and he'd like to start over. Then he made it clear he only meets clients before 3 pm through the week, and that it seemed like this wouldn't work. With all of the issues created by lack of communication on the businesses part, all we wanted was to meet face to face for a few minutes to set things up right. At that point, it was clear he didn't want our business. I'm shocked by all of this because the company gets great reviews, but they definitely aren't hurting for clients and their customer service is lackluster at best. We felt like just a number on a page from day 1. Definitely don't recommend this company. It's expensive compared to others and not worth the money based on what we experienced. We ended up having to do all kinds of service and troubleshooting in our own because the tech wasn't doing their job apparently anyways.

We called Derrick (the owner) and he came right over and diagnosed the problem and solution. We had to drain our pool. Once we filled it back up we struggled with the chlorine not taking. We worked with david our service person. He was very helping taking care of our pool. He even came out several time a day to make sure everything was fine. We see the they are committed to keeping our pool clean. I like the fact that Derrick is a fresno guy. We have found a gem in Clarity pools

After several days of pool not clearing up, I added chemicals, cleaned the filters and vacuumed the pools floor. Prior to me doing all of this the pool rep stated "the filter needs backwashing, I'll do that next week". My thought was if the filter is dirty, then it will not properly clean the water, and if he knew it needed backwashing the day he was there, why would he put if off 7 days. The next issue was after I did all the work, I handed over to him a crystal clear pool. When he sent a picture after his visit, I noticed a lot of algae at the bottom of my pool, I sent him pictures and asked if someone could got out and sweep and he stated "I did sweep". I asked he review the pics, and I pointed none of the floors were swept and he replied "I don't sweep floors, just walls". He then stated all he did when at the weekly service was add 2 tablets to the basket and that's it. I was alarmed that he wouldn't add chemicals and I brought that to his attention that in 103 degree weather, the chemicals I added 7 days ago, wasn't going to last another 7 days in this Fresno heat. He said all was fine, and as I knew it would happen, within a week my pool was green. The rep on another visit installed a pool timer for $369. When I asked him about my green pool, he responded by blaming my equipment and then asked about the $369 invoice. I paid the invoice within a few minutes of being asked about and then continued asking about him getting my pool blue, the way it was when he took over service, and his response was "to make it easier on us all, I'll stop service". So in nearly a month, my pool has been green, even though I have "full service" with this company. After he took his money and quit, I'm now maintaining my pool again and within 24hours I had my pool blue and I'm not even a pool professional.

Unreliable and Unacceptable Service from Day One…read more I started using Tropical Pools 5 weeks ago, and unfortunately, every single week, despite my recurrent feedback via email, text, and call, brought a new issue. Here's the timeline: Week 1: The skimmer basket was left full, and the tile and walls were not brushed -- basic maintenance that should've been done from day one. Week 2: I found a brownish residue on the walls, which appeared to result from either chemical shock reactions or tool oxidation. Weeks 3-4: The service report showed 0 ppm chlorine, and no chlorine was added. This happened more than once, even though I reported it. Week 5 (Final Straw): I found greenish-brown algae developing on the walls while swimming. It brushed off easily -- a clear indication of active algae, which should never occur under proper chemical maintenance. I reached out multiple times -- by email, phone, and text -- clearly documenting the issues and asking for improvement. Issues continue every week. I just decided to terminate the service. I hired a professional service so I wouldn't have to worry about the health or condition of the pool -- but with Tropical Pools, I've had to do more monitoring and follow-up than if I were maintaining it myself. I do not recommend this company. If you expect consistency, reliability, or even basic responsiveness, look elsewhere.

We were very happy with our pool service and our technicians. Over the years we had a number of different techs come out and we had to notify them that we had Huskies and to please close our gate when they were finished, we never had any issues. Well this week we received notice that Pristine was no longer going to be cleaning our pool. No reason, just no longer cleaning our pool. We then called Pristine (Kristi) and asked why they were stopping our service. Kristi stated that the new tech's are tired of walking to the front door and asking us to unlock the side gate so they could service the pool. The new tech was also unhappy because the bag on our pool sweep had a hole in it and I fixed it with a metal clip. So Pristine chose to not service our pool any longer and dropped us. I really thought we had a good relationship with Joe and Kristi but I guess not. Apparently, we were low on their priority list and that's why they dropped us. Good luck with your business, but you won't be getting any more referrals from us.
