The Nautical Rose has amazing service and food! The staff was so friendly and nice! I will be back again!

We were really looking forward to trying Nautical Rose, but unfortunately, our visit was disappointing from start to finish. We waited 20 minutes just to be seated, which wasn't too bad, but then spent over an hour waiting for our food without any updates or apologies. When it finally arrived, the steak was so overcooked it was practically jerky.. tough to chew in every sense of the word. The kids' grilled cheese was no better; an overwhelming amount of unmelted, plasticky cheese that even our little one wouldn't touch. Our waitress, while friendly, seemed scattered and forgetful.. she couldn't remember basic drink orders and while she checked in it was awkward. On top of all that, the dining room was warm and stuffy, with only a few fans barely moving the air. Sadly, this was not the relaxed, enjoyable meal we were hoping for. We won't be back. read more

Disgusting food. And I was in the full service restaurant business for over 30 years. Never will stop there again.

Second time here, first time was well over a year ago. Both times the food was very good. The facility was not that busy, service was adequate (waitress gave a thumbs up rather than speaking English--I get it but conversation is appreciated.) Onion rings were above average and hot as was the club sandwich that was piled high and full of meats, cheese and avocado on sour dough. Huge in size and a slippery little devil!! lol! All in all was a pleasant, relaxing meal with a nice view of the lake and surrounding homes. read more

Apparently has been a good while since our previous visit here. Today, to get away from house and no horse events, drove here about 40 miles. We each had different foods. Both really good and enjoyed. My Med Veg pizza on cauliflower crust was great. Plentiful toppings and perfectly prepared. read more

Best place on the lake to get a meal. Service is always friendly and the food never disappoints.

The Nautical Rose opened during the pandemic. When we visited the day before Father's Day, June 20, 2020, my father, my sister, and I used the boat up option and just had drinks and an appetizer. The Nautical Rose is a beautiful new updated restaurant with a bistro ambience. The service was exceptional- we were seated right away, drink orders were in fast and appetizer was out before we knew it! We ordered the onion rings, which were hand battered and perfect to share between the three of us. I think The Nautical Rose will soon the THE place to go on Johnson Lake to relax and hang out with friends and family. We would recommend it and and plan on returning. read more

I was looking forward to this visit. I doubt we will be back. Ignoring (totally) any distancing and mask directives made it an uncomfortable situation at best. No staff was wearing masks, I cringe to think of what the food prep area looked like. Ignoring health protocols under current conditions is unforgivable, no matter your politics. Addressing other issues the beer was cold, my burger overcooked in spite of emphasizing why I needed it done as requested. The waitress (no mask) did offer to have it redone but... really. I give 2 stars because you have a nice place. At least make hand sanitizer available??? read more

Terrible experience all around. 30 minute wait to get in. 30 more minutes before we could even order. our food came out one dish at a time about every 5 minutes and multiple of the dishes were cold. Spent around 2 hours in total at this restaurant waiting as the staff kept lying about it being "just 10 more minutes". wings were very small and mostly dry. My daughter and I had dinner here while on a road trip. We sat outside on a beautiful night. It was lobster special night, and it was busy but we were well attended to! We had the nauti-mess queso and chips. It was yummy while awaiting dinner. We split the Buffalo chicken pizza (crust was seemingly pre made and just so so) the salad had fruit and delicious dressing. Our server, Westin, was high energy and eager to please. Nice to see in today's work environment! read more

There were 6 of us for dinner last night, granted it was busy when we first arrived but no one had to wait for a table. We ordered appetizers and drinks first, when we finally got our appetizers they were cold. We ordered dinner which was supposed to come with a salad. We never received it so we asked our waitress after we had already received our meals, she said she'd get them right out. Never did get our salads and our waitress left lol. Our food was decent at best but cold. Probably won't be back. read more

Several good beers on tap. Wife loved her steak. My tuna tacos were pretty good. Victor was a very good server. The young lad at the door looked like a petulant teenager, spent his night with arms crossed looking bored, and swearing at other staff, which was very annoying. Great views on the deck, and lots of nice tables inside. This place had a good menu that we hope to explore on other nights. Classy joint, good prices, good service! read more

The adventure and excitement of finding it was better than the meal. My wife and daughter went to celebrate a special occasion. We had heard about the 20 lobster so we decided to give it a try. My daughter got grown up Mac and Cheese and tenders and my wife got a burger. Starting with the lobster. If I was looking for as much or little meat as you would find on a crawfish you would be correct. Also, it was so overcooked that it was rubbery and smoked it was like eating a smoke-filled rubber ball. The mac and cheese and tenders were overcooked and the burger was overcooked as well. We waited a very long time for our meal and sat there most of the time with empty glasses. At the end I think we would have been better going somewhere else and intend to never go back there again. I had high expectations because of the alley Rose in Kearney. However as you can see from above all those expectations were never met. read more

I would give this restaurant zero stars if it was an option. The food quality is horrendous and the prices are ridiculous.

I've been here three times never disappointed love the fresh mixed drinks, love the food salmon is my fav and absolutely love the atmosphere and friendly waitstaff!!! read more
