I used to avoid the dentist because of so many bad experiences. I finally gave Dr Werner at Natures Way a try and it's been the best experience ever! I actually enjoy going there. All the staff are highly skilled, very caring and kind, and do great work. The atmosphere is very nice and relaxing too. Dr.Werner was amazing! He was so gentle when numbing me and put patient comfort first. He did incredible work and was so kind when I had questions. He had procedures in place so that the whole time I was in the chair, I wouldn't be experiencing increased discomfort. I think as a dentist, that takes some real extra skill. I would recommend this dentist to any one! Especially families and those with dentist apprehension. The whole process of getting dental work accomplished was made easier by the state of the art equipment that made holding my mouth open for an extended period of time so much easier and more comfortable. His whole team was professional, knowledgeable and got me out of pain quickly. So glad he's my dentist. read more

I was pretty confused by the treatment with Dr Werner. Top front capped tooth fell out. Appointment delay- 3 weeks. He explained I should pay his fees, and also fees for oral surgeons in Pullman. Dr Werner sent me to Dr Holmes in Pullman for removal of stump and an implant. Dr Holmes refused to do this without first sending me back to Dr Werner to assess if there was enough bone to do the implant. I couldn't understand why the completely trained surgeon couldn't do this analysis himself, nor why the completely trained Dr Werner had failed to do that before sending me over there, if it was needed. I paid the additional charges for being shuttled around. Dr Werner decided there was enough bone but also claimed periodontal disease. I knew there was gum recession, I'm almost 70 years old, but never had inflamed tissue associated with periodontal disease. Doubts arose. He called for a cleaning, but I clean each 6 weeks with my own dental tools. I asked him to show me the tarter. He found a tiny bit of green lettuce lodged deep between two teeth. Not wanting to argue, I opted for the cleaning anyway. The cleaning tech gently scraped away, but that gritchy sound of tarter removal is unmistakable. It didn't happen. He finally commented, "Was there tarter? Yes, a little, but for someone who has not seen a dentist in 40 years your teeth look remarkably good." Dr Werner said a filling replacement was needed. I carefully noted which one. He told me he'd probed in the little hole and gone all the way down to the underlying tooth. At home I examined that filling, with bright light and dental mirror. There was a dent, like from biting a popcorn seed. Anyone with metal fillings knows they are soft. You just press and smooth down irregularities. However, there was only silver metal down in the bottom of that dent. My doubts increased. Gooey molds made a temporary cosmetic "flipper" that you must not eat with. It looks good, like a retainer with a tooth hanging off it. The lab sent something so poorly made he couldn't initially even get it to slide into my upper mouth. He worked diligently, grinding for about 45 minutes. I mentioned it still was pressing hard on an area right behind the front teeth. He said he was afraid to take off more. It might not stay in. I left with an uncomfortable appliance. When worn for hours it bruised my soft palate which would swell up. Also there were wires off the back of the retainer that should have looped around between my rear teeth. Instead they went right over-top of the biting surface of my molars. I couldn't close my jaws without my teeth grinding on them. I had to assume a slack jawed look while wearing that miserable appliance. Dr Werner requested a "scaling" to deal with the periodontal disease. He wanted another $800. for that. Dr Holmes in Pullman eventually decided not to work on me due to some fear of allergies to dental anesthetics. My calls to the recommended allergist were not returned. I then called the 5 star dentist with the best Yelp ratings. Appointment delay-only 2 days. He could do the entire implant process in his office. For almost the same cost as the temporary ill fitting flipper, the new doc made me one that would chew food. His xray machine was a 3-D state of the art machine. No biting down on sharp, bulky ex ray films here. Instead, standing with chin supported, the machine rotated gently round the outside of my head. In 15 seconds it produced an amazing X-ray that allowed this dentist to look right through my teeth from any angle. Multiple certificates posted in the waiting room showed this dentist had substantial additional training not found at Dr Werners. Here there's no gloppy stuff in your mouth. Instead a lighted wand was passed around inside my mouth taking readings with lazar technology. When the new sturdy flipper came from the lab, a perfect fit, worlds better and more comfortable than Dr Werners, and much smaller, I can't tell you how relieved I was to be able to fully close my mouth. The new dentist was not cowed by allergy questions, just considered I'd had a couple other fillings, so likely would be ok with normal dental drugs. He had an Epipen, ready to treat allergic reactions. After the new dentist viewed the amazing X-rays and did a thorough exam, I asked if he saw any sign of periodontal disease. "There's some gum recession, but no signs of periodontal disease." he said. "Is my gum recession unusual for someone my age?" I asked. "No, its about what we'd expect." he replied. I asked about my fillings, any more work needed at this time? No, he responded. Funny how different the story was. At least for implants, this 5 star dentist is top notch. If you want all treatments in a single office, quick appointments, with modern machines, you might want to skip Dr Werner's office. Comparing the two experiences... well... you can sum that up on your own. read more

We found this dentist when we moved to Moscow about a year ago after my son fell climbing down off the stool and hit his front tooth on the counter and it started turning grey. He was 2 and was really worried/nervous sitting in the chair. But I was amazed at how well Dr. Werner was with him and had him smiling and even laughing a little in no time. They took some X-rays to check out the roots and make sure things were ok there. He was also really good about explaining what could be wrong with the tooth (it was a little grey but not really grey) and since it was a baby tooth his recommendation was to watch it and if it got more grey then call otherwise they'd just keep an eye on it with his regular appointments. It never got more grey and is fine. I also LOVE their holistic approach to caring for your teeth and the way they treat their patients! I would highly recommend them to anyone! I have been extremely happy with everyone on the staff there, which is saying something (cuz some dentist you like but not the staff and sometimes vice versa.) Unfortunately, I have to give Dr Werner a 1 star. Service wise, to be honest... he is a 5.. no doubt. But a doctor is someone who you should feel you can go to and trust. This doctor, while does great work... can not be trusted. The shortened version of the story,... my son fell on the stairs and landed on his his mouth and got a big cut on his gum. Dr. Werner was our family's dentist, so we took him there to make sure his teeth were ok. Dr Werner checked him out and recommended he go to the hospital to get looked at and possibly get stitches.. the bleeding basically stopped at that point and there was no medical emergency for his actual tooth. He also made inappropriate jokes with the ER doctor about us, which he told us about.. he told us he said it like he was proud of making a funny joke.. We left and went home because we had to pick up the daughter from school. We were going to take him to see our doctor afterwards. During that time we kept getting emails and phone calls from Dr Werner.. he was continuously calling the ER to see if we checked in and because we never showed up there, he was threatening to call the police. We told him we were going to take him in after we picked up the daughter. After we got the daughter we headed to another doctor at a different hospital, to get their medical recommendation on if he needs stitches or not (the bleeding had stopped completely). On the way there, we get a call from the police... the dentist had told them enough BS to make the police call us and was wanting to take our children from us and put them into protective custody. We told the police what happened and what we were doing and they were content with that. We continued to get nasty emails from the dentist afterwards. The doctor checked out the tooth and gum area and he said it looked fine and didn't need stitches.. he was more concerned about the dental aspect of his mouth. We told the doctor that we had already seen the dentist and he was more concerned about the medical aspect. We then told the doctor what the dentist had done, and he was in disbelief. We left and his tooth has been fine since. After that, we had continued our medical and dental checkups to make sure his mouth was ok with the doctor and at our new dentist at PALOUSE PEDIATRICS - HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM INSTEAD. We told the dentist there what had happened - the were in disbelief too. We also told several of our friends who were patients with Dr Werner.. they were all in disbelief and very upset as well. They stopped going there and found a more trusting dentist. Oh and to top it all off.. Dr Werner called CPS and had a case opened against us for child endangerment.. which was dismissed pretty quickly as being unfounded. So to recap - Dr Werner does great work.. the office is great and the service is great.. but I can not recommend him because he is not trustful... especially not for children.. ESPECIALLY if they come in because of a possible emergency. read more

This office lied aboout what I would be billed and sent my account to collections without telling me. I told them exactly what I wanted to be done and that I did not want to exceed what my insurance would cover. They said that was fine, I got my services, I left. Over a year later I find out they charged me way more than they were supposed to, maxed out my insurance and billed extra money that went to a collection agency. Then after calling, the new manager said it's my problem to deal with. Very shady practice I would not recommend. read more

After skipping the dentist for over 6 years, I made an appointment with Dr Werner on a whim and I have never had a more thorough and pleasant experience. The serene atmosphere alone is impressive but what really stuck with me was how genuinely kind and informative the staff was. Friendly staff and sweet-smelling offices are great, but there's a better reason why I like this dental office so much. I took my youngest daughter, who was very nervous about sitting in the dental chair, and they made her feel so at-ease, that she has absolutely no fear of the dreaded "dentist seat" anymore. She was eight years old when she first visited this office, and a year later, after a few fillings, she thinks dental visits are a fun place to get stickers, seeds, etc.. I recommend this dentist to any parent searching for a good family dentist. Dr. Werner is very gentle with children, and it has helped immensely with my daughter's fear of dentists. In fact, I will give you a great example of a recent visit. Just a few weeks ago I took my daughter in for fillings. When we left the office and got into the car, I asked her if the shot hurt that Dr. Werner gave her (her mouth was numbed), and her response was, "He never gave me a shot!" She said Dr. Werner "gave me some NUMBING JUICE and just wiggled my mouth a little bit." Numbing juice? lol Dr. Werner was so gentle with her that she didn't even realize he injected her at all! This is coming from a kid who fears needles. Show her a syringe/needle and she reacts. This dentist is awesome! If you have children, I want all parents to know that Dr. Werner and his staff are so good with them. They do understand peoples' fear of dental visits, and accommodate that fear as gently as possible. Dr. Werner and his staff are keepers, for sure! read more

Dr. Werner has essentially combined the spa atmosphere with dentistry, and they offer hand or foot massage during your cleaning. That may sound odd, but the hand massage by Jenelle was fantastic. I would strongly recommend Dr. Werner for anyone, especially if you have ever had a bad dentist experience. He is the only dentist who has numbed my mouth without causing me any pain! He has done some great work for me and I really appreciate that he is always able to see me quickly, usually within hours, if I need him to modify or fix something! Dr. Werner stands out as a dentist for four reasons. First, he genuinely cares about you and your teeth, and that level of concern shines through in the work that he does. Second, his staff is well trained, professional, and very friendly. Third, Dr. Werner is knowledgeable about dentistry and takes the time to explain dental science to the patient. Fourth, Dr. Werner has what I would describe as the "healing touch." When he puts his hands in your mouth, it does not feel like an intrusion. It feels like help. In nearly half a century of going to various dentists, he is the first I have found with this ability. The "healing touch" is common but not universal in nurses and massage therapists, but in my experience much less common in physicians and dentists. I cannot fully explain it, but I think all of us know it when we feel it. I trust Dr. Werner when he is working on my person, and I feel lucky to have found his practice. read more
