I suffer from restless legs and have used their Night TIme Leg Calm - both the oil and the gel - and it works wonders!

This is going to be long…read more... I'm not quite sure what brought me to Sunshine Corners. I would almost call it serendipity, but I was certainly searching for something, I just didn't know exactly what. I had a day off and had spent the earlier part of it wandering, looking for any remaining independent produce stands, butcher shops, or just something that felt like it would nourish and heal me because I had been feeling....well? physically, emotionally, existentially, and psychologically, like absolute crap. Historically I've spent years independently studying nutrition and biochemistry, herbalism and traditional medicine, but over the years I'd strayed from those things and lost my way. All this to say I may have forgotten some things but I recognize when someone else knows their stuff. I wandered into Sunshine Corners, originally for a good sandwich and maybe some produce. What immediately struck me was how comforting this place was, and how much it felt like the old school apothecaries or coop's before they became adulterated by mainstream capitalist influences. Stay with me here. I overheard Tony talking to one of the people at the front desk and immediately realized "ok, that guy knows his stuff". Meekly, when he had a moment, I walked over to him and basically, in a sort of desperate manner, laid out my litany of aches and pains and mysterious ailments, expecting an abrupt hand waving answer. That is not what I got. Tony spent what might have been somewhere between 45 minutes and an hour with me, patiently asking me questions and pulling out reference literature. He recognized things in me that no one else had been able to see, and pointed me in a direction that has allowed me to focus on actually getting better rather than just collapsing in frustration. Tony, if you're reading this, the time you spent helping me meant so much to me. Your years of wisdom made a huge impact, but more importantly, your humanity.

They pack a lot in a small space. We stopped in to pick up suppliments depleted during our travels. However, I've noticed that this particular location has been consistently lacking in customer service--especially in the bakery department. This year alone, I've visited the bakery four or five times, and each time the experience has been disappointing. No one acknowledges customers, there's little to no eye contact, and the staff often appear disengaged or busy with tasks in the back of the section. When I do finally get someone's attention, the interaction feels rushed or noticeably unwelcoming. On one occasion, after waiting about 15minutes for my cake to be packaged, the staff member simply set it aside without letting me know it was ready. Situations like this have made it the worst bakery customer service I've experienced at any Whole Foods. I understand they have other responsibilities to manage, but a consistent lack of basic courtesy is concerning. On the other hand, I want to highlight the meat and fish department--they are always friendly, attentive, and hardworking, and it truly makes a difference.

I haven't had health insurance since I was in high school, so when I am so sick with the flu that I am inadvertently crop dusting my section and throwing up behind the bar, I count on these little Mom and Pop places. It's not as effective as riding the trolley into Tijuana, but it's what I got and it works. I first went to Good Life a few years ago when I had a severe throat infection. The man that works there is extremely knowledgeable. He practically diagnosed me within minutes of conversation and gave me several options or routes I could take, based on how involved I wanted to be with treatment and how much I wanted to spend. I went there today and the experience was enlightening. It was the same guy, and he was very certain about what could be wrong with me. He gave me some options and commended me on my initial battle plan to attack my bout with bubble guts (I think I ate some undercooked sausage). He seems very sincere about everyone's health, all you gotta do is walk in. On a quick note, it is from my understanding that if someone is not a MD, they cannot "diagnose" "treat" or "prescribe" anything, which is why you will get "suggestions" So if this doesn't sound good to you, I suggest spending your day (and money) being climbed on by a family of 8 in the waiting room at the walk-clinic.
