Eric helped me collect crickets and was readily knowledgeable about how many I should get at once and how to take care of them. Jordie directed me to the heating mats and helped me decide which one was worth it for the price, but also would fit best under the terrarium. Overall I am grateful for the good service I recieved today, and every time I stop by Bloomington PetSmart.

I understand closing procedures need to happen on time, but the interaction felt rushed and dismissive, and I wasn't given a chance to ask a simple question before being turned away as the doors were being shut. I work in retail as well, so I understand closing routines, but customer interactions should still be handled with basic courtesy, even at the end of the night. A brief answer or acknowledgment would have gone a long way. I'll plan to come earlier in the future, but this experience did not reflect great customer service.

It's hard to find a place that grooms cats. Our family cat is 20 years old (!) and had some large…read moremats on his fur because it is difficult for him to groom himself. The groomer was very gentle with our old man and insisted that I stay there during the grooming for his comfort. She could have charged extra by asking if I wanted to bathe him as well, but she recommended not to do that as to not aggravate the cat even more. The only reason this is 4 stores and not 5 is because the place is a little dirty and because I didn't see any evidence of the supplies having been sterilized. However, they are still moving into their new location. Their team definitely is experienced and knows how to handle pets.

I took my cat in to be seen because he was fur mowing, and I wanted to know how to prevent that so he didn't have to live the rest of his life coned. This was quite some time ago, but I've since decided this may be important for other cat owners to consider. When we (Me, my husband, and our cat) initially entered the building, we were brought back to a room and waited to let him out of his carrier. When someone walked in, a vet tech I presume, she was gentle and very loving with our cat. Why the one star? After she left, it was not her who treated my cat. Instead walked in this doctor that immediately made my cat flick his tail. When I asked what we could do, she lied to me about there being no way to skin test my cat (you can do skin scrapes, I know because I brought him to another vet). She then said she needed to do 500 dollar blood work instead. She said she had found fleas despite us using a preventative, and instead of her suggesting a stronger one she sent us home with an anti itch moose that didn't work. We didn't do the blood tests because we knew something was off, especially when she brought in a small rag to hold my cat down for a vaccine (he is a huge cat) and he ended up clawing her and she lifted him by the scruff (not healthy for a 17 pound cat, btw! Yes, that is his healthy weight. He is tall!) We brought him to arlington, who not only gave us a strong flea preventative, but sent us home with actual medicine (steroids) to help him heal any infection he had gotten from prolonged fleas. Every since then, he has been healthy and not itchy. No thanks to bloomingpaws for that.

I am possibly looking to get back into the aquarium hobby after 30+ years since I last was into it…read more So I looked up shops in Yelp and The Reef jumped out, especially since I was going to be stopping by Sullivan's Hardware today to pick up something. The place was really busy, but I was able to speak to a very nice young lady named Evelyn (I believe... I'm extremely bad with names, but think that was it. If not Apologies). She really took the time to help me catch up on some of the changes in the hobby and focus in on somethings I think I may like. I have more research to do but will definitely be back when it comes to make some critical decisions and buy some of the key components such as aquarium itself, substrate, filtration, etc. Really appreciate the time she took with me. I'm not an expert to be able to "grade" The Reef like some may be able to, but I can speak to how they treated me today. The Reef seemed to have a depth of products to help someone just starting out at a small scale, to the very experienced hobbyist looking to go to the next level or the advanced aquarium keeper who needs to pick up some specific item. (I took the pics to help me remember some of the items I was looking into but figured they would be good for this review as well)
