I am new to the area and called to schedule an appointment (Thursday 6/21at 5pm) for a manicure with gel polish. When I walked in the owner(man) didn't speak and as if he was shocked to see an an African American woman in his nail salon. Every time I asked him a question he never responded and walked away. I spoke to him on the phone and requested an experienced tech not someone in training because I am very particular. The nail tech that was assigned to me was not experienced but I still allowed her to attempt to do my nails. I didn't have any nails because I just removed my acrylic nails before I relocated. I asked for square shape and she gave me round which filed down the little nails I had. As I questioned him can he assist her he was you can leave and don't pay. I said no, you or someone will fix the nails and I will be paying for the service that was given. She didn't know how to polish and he refused to do it himself. He was the only person available. Another nail tech polished my nails and shaped them with as best as she could with the gel polish on. I paid my $40 and left and even gave each of them a tip. I was in a little of a pickle with my nails and it was during the holidays so my regular salon was closed that day. So I open my yelp app and started going through nail salons according to their rating. I called other nail salons around that were closer to me first but they were all booked up so I explored out to Mt. Juliet. Literally, every salon in Mt. Juliet that was opened that day was packed too! This salon was the only one that said that they had openings. I was happy none the less but when I walked in the place, I was surprised that it was completely empty! I was the only one there for the almost 2 hrs service except the one older lady that came for a quick change of polish. Now I can see why. Tyler, Lindsey and Linda, not sure if they are related or not but they all have the same trade, lack of care. They are friendly but they really haven't grasped the importance of customer service and it seems like they don't care either because they have been there for over 10 years. This place is in the shopping center where Kroger is and I think the Chinese restaurant next door is also owned by them as a little kid (I found out it was Lindsey's kid) kept coming in and out of the nail place making it hard for me to relax during my pedicure. That dang door bell. My baby's cries are fresh sweet sounds compared to how often he came in, hmm. Linda was doing a great job on the pedicure. I can say it's been one of the best I had in a while, because she took her time with the massage (I guess because I was the only customer, but I'm giving here the benefit of the doubt) and she clean my feet really good. She was quiet but friendly but her English is limited but I was trying to make a little conversation with basic things as I couldn't just relax because of the sound of the bell. English is my second language so I've been there but I had a legitimate Anjelah Johnson moment with them (she is saying you so nice 1). I also could tell they were from Vietnam so I brought it up to Lindsey so that she was aware that I caught her red handed, her face was hilarious. I laughed it off. I definitely don't speak Vietnamese but I do get curious from time to time. I honestly think it's rude and disrespectful all together but that's how it goes. Tyler did my nails. They offer the regular services but they don't offer what I get done (hard gel) and my nail salon is the only one I know it has it too (I have checked in TX and AR too) and it's amazing! I had to do a full set of dip powder which I hate because it's hard on my nails. Tyler did a great job, he made my nails look pretty and they were the perfect thickness. He is nice and did try to make some conversation. Prices and services are the norm. The place is dated but it looked clean. You can tell they have tried to update some stuff but definitely on a "this is enough" mental frame. I felt like a cow going through production honestly. So technically, I would only come here if it's the only one. There are way too many nail salons with better everything around the area that I wouldn't think of this place as a come relax place. read more

My pedicure was fifteen minutes long and my toenails cut so short that my feet look horrendous. My nails were supposed to be dip and the woman put tips on each finger without permission and I have thick, unshaped and uneven nails. My friend and I went to this nail salon less than 2 weeks ago & it was definitely not worth the money. The woman who did my feet did not know how to give a pedicure and didn't do anything to my toes. She barely even cut them. No file, no cuticles, no massage, etc. they just sat in water My friend and I both did dip. One of hers already broke and chipped & mostly all of my nails have lifted if not fallen off because they did not use the drill to clean up around the cuticle area and so I had dip continuing from my nail onto my cuticles which caused them to lift. I have been going to no.1 in mj the atmosphere is kinda odd I feel like they are cattle and are required to put out so many customers with in a period of time the store itself is cluttered . I called them for a last minute appt which usually they are fine but it wasn't in my time frame so my co worker suggested natural nails. It is clean organized and they didn't have more people than they could handle . They use liners for pedicures and their stations and tools are clean. I will go back they are 10% cheaper than NO.1 the outside is deceiving the pedicures are ten times more comfy . A group of us came here for manicures and pedicures for a wedding tomorrow and we had a great time! The massage chairs are nice and I watched HGTV while my nails dried! We had fun and we're thankful for the cup holders! The options for both manicures and pedicures are great, there's no pressure, and almost too many colors to choose from, in addition to all the different types of polish they can do! This is a small but nice nail salon next to Kroger and China Moon. I've been a customer for a little over a year and usually get a pedicure and gel manicure which usually takes them between 90 to 100 minutes depending on how busy it is. I recommend calling ahead to make an appointment. The last gel manicure I had done here lasted about 2 weeks, but I don't do anything special to protect my nails. The techs don't do a lot of small talk with the customers, which I prefer because I like to have a quiet relaxing experience. read more

I made appointments for 3 people to get pedicures. When we arrived no one asked us what type of pedicure we wanted or anything just started soaking our feet. My person switched to another guest in the middle of my pedicure. My nails were not cleaned or trimmed. Cuticles were not trimmed or even cleaned up. Two of us were finished and sent to dry almost 20mins before the 3rd person. Lotions was loaded on and not even rubbed in properly. What a joke! I will NEVER come back to this nail salon and I will tell everyone I know NOT to try this place! Terrible. What a waste of my money. Not to mention we were all charged together. Horrible. I just received the ugliest shellac manicure of my life. Nail tech glopped the polish on, got it all over my skin and left cotton fuzz in the polish. I kept trying to get her to redo it, but she just glopped more polish on top. The dried polish on my cuticles is already lifting. Will never come back here. What a waste of money. read more

I really loved this place. First, I love that they aren't blasting crappy television the entire time. I like to read when I am getting a pedicure, so it's especially relaxing to have light classical music playing. I also love that the person who did my nails today was so gentle and easy to talk to. I think his name was Hai. And finally, I love their pricing. I called both Bellagio and Li En Nails, and the pricing for gel manicure and a normal pedicure were $60 and $58, respectively. The person who answered the phone, and the person who checked me in when I got there were brusque, and put me off right away, but once I got into a seat, the ladies who worked on my nails were sweet and solicitous. Bad experience today. Will not return that is for sure. Did not realize that polish was not to the edge of my nails on my feet until I got home. Was handed off to another person after I had stated I need both a mani and pedi because an appointment person came in. I get that someone had an appointment but techs should know how long it takes them to do a pedi before they start. If they did not have enough time to do both I should have been told before hand. I have been a consistent customer of Loc's for a very long time. I always called ahead to make an appointment so I can see him. The last time I called I was rudely informed that anyone could do my nails and that they were not going to give me an appointment with Loc. If I am a paying customer and call in advance to request the person who knows my nails and the way I like them done, why would I not be able to see him. I have sent numerous friends to them over the years and was always very pleased with my service and nails. Unfortunately I haven't gone back and don't think I will. We as loyal customers obviously don't mean anything to them. I actually still have money on a gift card (everyone knew where I always went) that I haven't used and just need to give away I guess. It's very unfortunate that loyalty means so little to this establishment. I tried to give my gift card to two others friends that had started going there and they too have changed to different nail salons. This place was awesome. After calling several places around Mt. Juliet to see if they accepted walk-ins, I decided to try this place. I was on a tight schedule but needed a pedicure. Quite frankly, every place I called acted as if I was booking brain surgery instead of a pedicure. This was seriously one of the best I've ever had. Tai did a great job and was very thorough. It didn't feel rushed at all, even though I got there only 30 minutes before they closed (they close at 7:00, not 7:30 btw).
