I have shopped here in the past a few times. This weekend is the 70th anniversary and a great opportunity to stock up on groceries. At the time I went, right after work the parking lot was full. But fortunately found a spot within walking distance. They also have a few giveaways going on so be sure to check it out! My favorite spot in the store is fresh fruit as I stocked up on some peaches. But I remembered to have a list so I don't just buy everything I see. Stocked up on pasta, and snacks for the pantry. There were a few registers open and seemed to move smoothly. This is the best looking , affordable , and well taken care of produce section I have experienced compared to other locations and sprouts! This place has a great variety of food and supplements, and you can always find someone to help who is knowledgeable within any food regime. I went into Natural Grocers for one bottle of cranberry juice and was hoping to be in and out. As we all know, everyone in the grocery store decides to come to the front all at once (funny how that happens) and after being behind 4 people, the cashier called for back up. Madi (the dairy manager) quickly goes to a register solely for the purpose to help the guy behind me...who rushes to her line, disregarding the others in front of him. I was shocked, she as well disregarded everyone else only to take her time and flirt with this guy who had a number of items and I'm standing there with one bottle of juice to pay for. I would expect better service and CUSTOMER SERVICE from a neighborhood store like this. read more

PLEASE PUT UP SIGNAGE AND CHANGE YOUR ADVERTISED HOURS IF YOU ARE CLOSED. Went to this store on Memorial Day 2022 at 7:30 PM. Internet sites and also checked hours... said open today until 8:36 PM. Arrived and store locked up. No signage anywhere in site stating they were closed. No problem with a business closing early on Memorial Day or closing on Memorial Day. I do think it's unprofessional to not have any sign-up whatsoever or to have that your business hours advertised specifically for today or until 8:36 PM ...and when customers drive all the way there and arrive based on that information, the doors are locked and they are closed. Have a serious medical condition, and always wear a mask inside stores - after the state & county changed it's mandates, I tried to go in one time without it because they're affecting my brain due to sinus issues. I was confronted by 3 employees and told my condition didn't matter, then had the checker aggressively tell me she has autoimmune issues as if we're all comparing medical issues. I was told to shop off instacart. How about I quit going to your store after years of using you consistently? If breathing air so I don't end up with meningitis (again) from trapped bacteria, especially after all of the vaccinations and lacking government requirements is too much to ask while I give you business is a problem, then I won't be there to cause one again. I don't mean to be a Vitamin Cottage hater, but I cannot seem to see why I would come here on a regular basis. I usually just stop here if I only need a couple things and I happen to be very close by. The produce seems very overpriced to me. Much more along the lines of Whole Foods, than Sprouts. I am quite happy with what I get for my money at places like Sprouts. But, on my most recent visit here, I left Vitamin Cottage with some so-so tomatoes and a couple sad jalapenos, that seemed to cost 3 times what I would normally expect to pay. I have looked at other items around the store, and they also seem to be mirroring Whole Foods prices, which is too rich for my blood. Also, I know they are trying to be green, but the "no free bags" thing can be irritating if it occurs on a day you forgot your reusable ones. Yes, they will offer you a cardboard box, but sometimes that is overkill, and then you have a box at home that you need to break down and stuff into the recycling bin. read more

Apparently there is another Steve C in Parker who also left a review previously, so I'm the OTHER Steve. I started coming to this location this past Spring to mainly purchase vitamins, but then realized what a large selection of soaps and health aids that were offered, not to mention the grocery side of the store. My visits have always been pleasant as far as customer service offered, which you just don't see everywhere anymore. My last two visits I must give a shout out to Lex, but most of all to Paulette for her great, friendly help with finding vitamins I needed. I hope I'm spelling your name correctly! I love that they only carry organic produce. And it is such a close, convenient location to my home. They lose a couple of stars for several reasons. 1. They aren't very good at inventory control. They often are out of stock on several items I need on any particular day. 2. They have been squeezing out some of my favorite, more healthy brands for their own in-house label items. RUDE, horrible customer service when called back to complain. Only one lane open at first, where the clerk is holding up the growing line because they cant find the price for 4 single radishes on the customer in front of me. I am very patient and waited a good 10 minutes. During that time, another clerk came and reached in front of me to put something on the shelf, not saying anything. Over the 10 minutes, the line grew and clerks would take people behind me!! Every time. I was not even acknowledged. Thats why I left my unpurchased items. So as a Native American (the real deal with actual papers), I may look a little ethnic. Somehow they deemed me unworthy of proper human dignity and decided I wasn't worth acknowledging. My pets are more spoiled than we are. Mostly what I buy here is cat food. They have the best selection in town of healthy non junk filled pet foods. I also really love the value on the bulk items like nuts and dried beans etc. and I always go here to get my spices. You can get a baggie full of most any spice for about 1/20th of the cost of them in the fancy bottles at the grocery store... just reuse your bottles. One bag will fill them up 3-4 times. They often have great specials on various things that are always fun to snoop through and the staff is super helpful if you are looking for any kind of vitamin or nutritional supplement. read more

I've been going here for 14 years for high quality, organic, local foods. I've always had great service, and there are several employees who are very knowledgeable about the vitamins and supplements. In recent years, they have eliminated foods with anything artificial, preservatives, GMO's etc., so you know you are purchasing items that are not harmful. It's a rather small store, with an impressive selection for its size. I find that the vegetables and fruit that I buy here are usually more fresh then at Sprouts. The prices are reasonable considering the nitch they cater to. There isn't a deli or bakery, just a store front here. The clerks are always very friendly. You can get almond butter made while you wait here, for people looking for peanut alternatives. The product here is much more natural then the woman's hair color on the commercials, don't let that deter you! I like to buy my pet food here. I love their tomatoes! I grew up growing lots of tomatoes in the garden and these taste just like those did. Even if I didn't buy any of their other products, I would walk here for their tomatoes. I love their produce selection here, I'm pretty sure it's all organic but I'm not sure! I also always get my chicken on clearance here. They have a frozen clearance section in the back and I can find some great deals! Staff has always been friendly and k really appreciate that they don't give out plastic bags here!! I often need a strange ingredient for some of my healthier recipes and Vitamin Cottage is the first place I consider since there are no Whole Foods' within 30 minutes of my house. Even if there WAS a Whole Foods, I might make this my first stop because the prices are better. Random things I like about Vitamin Cottage: #1. I purchase all of my vitamins/supplements here. The staff is BEYOND knowledgeable. Go ahead, test them...you will be impressed. If you don't like what you've bought, they will take it back easy breezy. #2. They sell the best selection of meats I've seen in the area. Stuff like alligator and rabbit. Not that I buy them, but it's cool to see the variety. #3. They have very reduced prices around the store on items that are getting close to expiration dates. Some of the stuff is frozen meat so that's no biggie at all if I'm just sticking it in my freezer at home. #4. Their bulk foods are great. You don't measure what you'd like but that's okay by me. All sorts of raw nuts and tons of whole grains. The only place I've found hard white wheat berries in town where I can get 2 pounds and not 50. #5. Maybe this is just me, but I FEEL so healthy just walking into the store. They should bottle that feeling up! #6. I can walk there if I just need a few items. #7. A few years ago, one of the staff told me there are no artificial ingredients in the store. Almost seems hard to believe...might have remembered that incorrectly, but I don't think so. read more

Mediocre. Most of the produce is sub par and often tasteless. I usually go to King Soopers for produce. Prices are a little steep. They do have a good selection of other foods. On several occasions however, once I get hooked on a product (chips, coffee, protein products), they usually have supply issues. Then, the product disappears altogether from the shelves.
