It was unreal! Everything here is to die for, I love their vegan take on Jamaican patties and their spicy sauce that accompanies the patties is absolutely delicious. I tried their smoothies this time, the sea moss smoothie was absolutely delicious and did not taste weird at all, with a beautiful blend of delicious berries this was an absolute treat. Staff here is super friendly. The space is small, but the pumpkin patties were super fresh and I could not wait to take them home and eat them and preferred to just sit on the stool and eat them on the spot. AWESOME spot for vegetarian/mostly vegan Jamaican food. (They do have a few menu items with fish that are clearly labeled.) Their slogan is "there is no guilt in our pleasure," and I believe this is accurate! They serve a variety of food, from comforting dishes (like lasagna and mac and cheese) to straight up health food (like acai bowls and ginger shots), and everything seems high quality and free of excess oil and salt. They have a great lineup of baked goods. I tried the banana bread and the pumpkin bread and loved both, especially the oats and walnuts they were topped with. I had to try the 7 grain porridge (they have a rotating porridge each day) and really enjoyed it; it was warm and spiced and just the right level of sweetness. One of my other favorite items was the 13 bean soup, with hearty potato and carrot chunks. I also enjoyed the veggie lasagna and the steamed callaloo. They were also super welcoming and helpful in answering my questions about the menu. I absolutely love the patties here I typically get the pumpkin and the "chicken." Never knew vegan patties could be so delicious although, I admit, I like the crust more than the fillings (I feel the same way about pie though) . service is friendly and their menu seems pretty varied although I've stuck to patties. Lovely cafe! :) Natural Blend is a hip modern eatery in Brooklyn! It caught my eye because the whole ingredients that they use in their smoothies and foods. I order a the Tropical Green smoothie and it was lovely! So naturally sweet but tasted very nutritious. This may sound obvious but I really do appreciate smoothie cafe that use actual fruit and not powders/juices. I'm so glad I passed by Natural Blend. This restaurant focuses on foods that are vegan/vegetarian/pescatarian friendly. Having Natural Blend as an alternative food option in the area is a definite plus compared to all of the fast food places in the surrounding blocks. The space itself is very nice. There are enough tables to dine in or even do work on the computer. I was in the mood for something light today, so I opted to get the "Kale Mary" smoothie. The smoothie was delicious! I've been a humongous fan of Natural Blend since they were just a single store front on Washington Avenue. I was introduced to them by a friend who lived walking distance from their Crown Heights location and I've been hooked ever since. When leaving the gym one afternoon, I walked down Church Ave and nearly knocked someone over so that I could take a good look at what I believed to be a new Natural Blend location. The universe truly answers us because I always said I wished for there to be a Natural Blend in Flatbush and it is finally here! Okay, let me get the point of what people actually wanna hear about: "the food." The breakfast porridges are delicious. My favorite is the 7-grains porridge. Very hearty and filling. Even better if you get it with a pastry, like banana bread or lemon tart. The Ital stew is any vegan/vegetarian's dream. It's curry, packed with veggies, potatoes, pimento, and all the other amazing things that a Jamaican soup usually consists of but without meat. Don't get me started on the patties! Smoothies and food is good. But the staff...horrible. They don't smile or say good morning. There is definitely a lack of customer service. It can't be that every day at 7:30am all the staff is in a bad mood I even asked the lady attending me if she was okay. It is very disappointing because this place has potential. However, if the staff continues with that type of attitude in the mornings, the business will slowly start losing customers. And also, I had to wait 20 minutes for one protein shake because the lady was still making coffee and setting up. I got a Mac and cheese which was utterly disgusting. There was no flavor at all, I was just eating cooked noodles. I have been a vegan for a few years now and I've come to accept the acquired taste of vegan cheese, but this Mac and cheese had NO TASTE at all, not even a lick of seasoning. I was so disappointed. Came to Natural Blend a few weeks ago since I was craving a fresh fruit smoothie. The smoothie was very good, even my 10 year old daughter sucked it down (good thing)... the food however, was quite lacking in flavor. I've had vegan patties before elsewhere, so I decided why not...right ? WRONG!!.. i ordered the lentil patty and a side of chow mein; neither had much flavor. I love lentils, but it truly tasted like bland lentils stuffed into a yellow flaky crust. The chow mein noodles was far too hard and took forever to come out. I would go back to Natural Blend when the craving for a smoothie or juice arises. Maybe I'll try something else, like the soup. Solid 3.5 stars ! read more

However this bottled seamoss smoothie was rancid in flavor and was malodorous. There was no expiration date to indicate when the drink was made or date best used by. Yay! So excited this place finally opened. Ital food plus coffee shop/smoothies, etc. Super clean and spacious, many yummy veggie options, including callaloo patties, my fave. Started coming here this week (been back twice now) and I've been very pleased. The first time I was indecisive and wasn't sure what I wanted but one of the employees (not sure if he was the owner) helped me settle on the Apple, Mango, ginger juice and it was amazing (I love ginger). This has now become a semi-regular stop for me -- it's super clean, you can sit inside (they have outside seating in the back), the quinoa waffle is also bomb.
