Consumer beware. I had to call the vision center to see if my glasses were ready. They had been there for a week, I was not notified. I selected a new pair of Gucci frames for my eye glass prescription from Nationwide Vision in Casa Grande, AZ. Upon being presented with my new eyewear, I was given a generic pocket protector style case (no Gucci protective clamshell case or Gucci cleaning cloth). I was told by the vision center that they did not have any and they were out of them. I was directed to the website to express my concern as it could not be solved in the vision center. These events have dimmed anything positive that took place during my Nationwide Vision experience. This is unacceptable for a "premium luxury" product. read more

I tried to make an appointment in March 2025. Unfortunately, their first available was May 1st. Okay... then weekly, the entire month of April, I received text messages asking me to confirm my appointment. Really? Okay... I confirmed weekly. The day before, I received a text message again, this time confirming my appointment and giving me a 1-800 number to call if I needed to make changes. I did not. I arrive at my appointment 20 minutes early, only to be ignored. Not one single person (on the clock) acknowledged me. They were sure to acknowledge the lunch delivery guy... but not me. I finally asked why I was being ignored after they spoke to 2 other people after me. I told her I was there for an appointment. She looked up my name, but told me my appointment had been canceled because they needed a 'verbal' confirmation. The other 5 confirmations weren't enough after all...? I called the 1-800 # and they told me the appointment still showed up and couldn't understand why the women in the office said it had been canceled. I know why! Their lunch was more important! They obviously did not want to do any work. LAZY & RUDE! Now I see why their ratings are so low! Go elsewhere! I definitely will. Extremely rude Customer service over the phone. I made an appointment because I have vision loss concerns. I've been having dark spots and floaters that are disturbing my vision. They told me my insurance wouldn't cover my visit. When I told them I would have to cancel my appointment, the woman on the phone said, "Mhmm," and then hung up in my face. When I tried to call back multiple times, no one answered. Just very disrespectful. You don't gain anything from me coming to my appointment or not, so why be rude to me because of my insurance coverage...? That is elitism, which doesn't belong in the medical field. read more

Last week my daughter had an appointment at the clinic in Casa Grande, AZ and the appointment was adequate - but the customer experience was very confusing and disappointing. I received a voicemail on 3/6 saying if I didn't call back to verbally confirm, my appointment would be cancelled. I called back, verbally confirmed the time with Dr Nguyen. I also brought up the previous texts saying it was a strange customer experience to confirm so many times and then receive a call saying my appointment was to be cancelled if I didn't call back - after I'd complied with everything else. The person on the phone explained that they were unable to see the text confirmations and if they didn't say that on the voicemails, nobody would ever call back. Assuming the situation where the text confirmations aren't seen by the in house staff is true, that should be fixed and the phone call threatening cancellation is not a good customer experience and that script should be adjusted. While we were waiting, there was an associate sitting at one of the computers in the glasses section having a loud personal phone call with a family member about how the bank was calling them about their car loan. This didn't impact me, it was just already a crowded and loud room, she probably should have saved this or taken it off the floor. Our appointment, as stated above as being confirmed several times both verbally and through the text message system, started 20 minutes late despite making several confirmations. This is time I took off of work and had to make up. The appointment was automatically moved to a weird zoom appointment in the room with a remote doctor. It wasn't until we were in the appointment, part way through the exam, with the TV playing an ad for Nationwide on full volume that I asked what we were waiting for. After asking several questions (that were answered incredulously, as though I should know what was happening and she thought maybe I was making a joke. I had to make it clear to the technician in the room that I was very confused), she explained that we had been moved to a virtual appointment with a doctor not in the room. I would have never chosen a remote appointment, if I even knew this type of appointment even existed. If I was to be switched from seeing the doctor in house to a remote appointment, this should have been explained to me so that I could either reschedule to see the doctor or use my insurance benefit at a clinic that could accommodate our appointment. My daughter had two questions for the doctor that were blatantly ignored. I would have expected the doctor to answer these instead of dismissing them in what seemed like an effort to move on to the next patient as this one clearly didn't have a prescription worth her time. One, the uncomfortableness she gets when adjusting from light to dark - she wanted to know if this was normal or not? Two, is she actually colorblind or is the school nurse wrong? As I have no experience with this, I would have expected the doctor to explain how this happens, if it gets worse with age, and if it's something that can be improved or not. Not merely saying, "It's genetic and there's nothing we can do about it. It's not necessary to look at it." When I brought up complaints to the people I was speaking with, they seemed completely unprepared to handle any questions outside of the scope of their job. Eventually, they said to bring it to the manager - but did not indicate who the manager was or bring me directly to that person for assistance when I was obviously confused and irritated. Overall, the experience was disappointing. There was very little effort to ensure anyone was having even the most basic knowledge of what was happening or expected and it seemed like customers were shuttled through the routine like cattle. I would hate for someone to have vision problems and receive this type of treatment as their first experience and be deterred from seeking help in the future. Making just a few small adjustments would make it so much nicer. read more

My wife made an appointment. They sent a text saying call, if you want to change. She did not call. They canceled anyway and we rescheduled. I called the day of the new appointment. They said come i15 minutes early. We did. While filling out forms, they told us 'we' were running late. We could only get a remote visit. I came in last Wednesday and needed my daughter's script filled quickly. She is severely visually impaired (has CTI-cortical visual impairment) and attends Foundation Blind School in North Phoenix. Nikki the manager (assistant ?) was super helpful and was able to get the order processed and I picked them up in less than a week! My experience was nearly perfect...my only want was that VSP as 'in network' for Nationwide. (Technical issue) But the store, the staff and prices & the selection are excellent. DO NOT USE THIS BUSINESS. I had an appointment a month ago. They told me the cost of an eye exam was $119. After I got back to have the eye test, they told me they're charging me an additional $80! I paid it and was told I had to wait 1 week until my trial contacts came in. It is 3 weeks later and they still had not notified me. I called and was told they'd contact the supplier and let me know...another week and no call. My wife stopped in and they told her the contacts arrived last night...coincidence. These clowns wouldn't let my wife have my trial contacts. They told her I would have to make an appointment to pick up my contacts...so they made an appointment a week and a half from now! I called to just come in and pick up my trials, the receptionist told me too bad, I couldn't pick up my trials until then and she hung up on me. This is the most disrespectful, slowest, worst run, place I've ever been to. Don't waste your time or money on this POS place. Read the reviews folks. Go somewhere else. read more

She was rude, Did not address my question, and concern about my daughters exam relating to the (Pupil Dilation) and arbitrary performing it. Recently my health insurance changed and I had to find a new opthamologist, lucky for me I checked Nationwide Vision Center. The staff at Nationwide Vision Center are helpful, professional, and very accommodating. The staff is familiar with all the various Insurance companies and can answer any questions you have. I was taken in for my exam on time and given a very thorough examination of my eyes. Dr Burr answered every question I had. After my eye examination I selected my frames and lenses. Nationwide Vision Center has a decent selection of frames, not as many as my last vision provider,however, still a good selection. I am glad I chose Nationwide Vision Center. If you ever need a vision exam, visit Nationwide you won't be disappointed. read more

I went here....well because I couldn't read crap, distance I'm good but,close forget it...went in friendly people filled some paperwork out and they did the exam and before long I was picking out frames and less then an hour later I walked out with glasses a case and cleaning cloth for them and now I can read again...lol..give me time and I will go visit the lasak eye center and see if I can fix my eyes like they were when younger. read more

Casa Grande Vision Center is a disaster! This is the most inefficient, unprofessional, and unwelcoming staff one can imagine. My experience (twice ... thought the first time might have just been me) is that the customer is a bother, and if they already have two or three they're waiting on, just go away. No one says hello, can I help you?, etc. ... they just ignore you! If you want to use Vision Center, drive to Chandler. The Ray Road location is awesome but stay away from Casa Grande. read more

Great if you want cheap glasses, not so great on the customer experience. Basically you get what you pay for when it comes to this place. I did get two complete pairs of glasses and the exam for less than $200. However I was not offered the anti-glare which I immediately wish I would have when I picked up my order. They did have a great turn around time one pair was 2/3 days the second one took 4/5. Some of the staff was nice but when I called in asking questions about using my prescription to buy sunglasses online they were extremely rude and did not answer my questions regarding it. I am disappointed that I wasn't offered any options on my lenses it's been so long since I've bought glasses I forgot that you can get anti glare, scratch resistant, and tinted ones. I'm sad because I will have to buy new lenses now! This was my original review--- I'm starting to think that these reviews are from people who were rude to the staff and in turn they didn't have the best experience. I called on a Tuesday, got an appointment the following day and had a great experience. It took about an hour from the time I walked in the door, to when I walked out. I had the usual eye tests, exam, browsed for glasses, and ordered. The best thing about it was that I got two complete pairs of glasses plus the exam for $173. At my old eye doctor just the exam is $130!! Staff was very nice and helpful and they have a good variety of glasses ranging from about $59-$300. When I went they were doing 50% Off a single pair of glasses or $99 for two complete pairs with select frames. She also gave me an additional discount on my eye exam so it came down to $47. She informed me that glasses can take up to two weeks to get in but they typically arrive within 3-4 days. I will update this review if I have any issues with my glasses but so far I am excited to have taken a chance here!! read more

I am an eye doctor snob. But that's because I've been going to the eye doctor for almost 20 years (I'm early 30's). So, I'm really picky, but I absolutely had to go to an eye doctor close by so I picked this place. It was ok--I wasn't really wowed by any part of the experience, but Dr. John Dahu was friendly, helpful, and thorough. The exam was quick but I didn't feel like he rushed. The frame selection was ok, I found an ok pair at a reasonable price. With my insurance, co-pays, etc, I paid about $100.00 for everything. Not too shabby. I don't want to sound too vanilla about my review, but this place was ok. Have I had better exams and better treatment? Yes. But that's because I had gone to the same eye doctor for years and years and years and I knew the doctor and the staff. So I'm biased. Meh. read more

The most rude, unprofessional staff i ever encountered. The products from this company are made cheaply & they do not stand behind their product. My hubby bought a pair of expensive glasses because this is the only place his insurance covered. Within 4 months, the frames were chipping, the glass from 1 of the lenses even chipped. We waited 45 minutes for our appointment in a small hallway in hard chairs. We were actually getting up to leave when they called my daughter's name. No one apologized for the wait. The front counter people are unfriendly. If they say hello, it's quietly and without a smile. The assistant manager was extremely rude and totally unprofessional. When we walked in to pick up my daughter's glasses, I guess she said hi to us, but since she said it SO quietly and she was sitting with some other customers, I didn't know it was directed at us and I didn't respond. But when I passed by where she was sitting, I overheard a comment she made to the people she was with and they both laughed. It was obviously directed at me, a sarcastic "okay" with an eye roll. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone, ever. Customer service sucks, it's like YOU should be glad to give them your business instead of them being glad you chose them. Like the optometrist! When I wanted to use my vision insurance, they printed out a benefit statement (when I asked). It appeared to be legit as it had my plan name on it, but the benefit amounts seemed too low and they informed me that was my plan's benefit. I went home and checked at my benefit was SIGNIFICANTLY higher! I then went back ane explained that they has miscalculated my benefit and that's when they admitted that they are actually out-of-network for insurance plans, "but it all equals out because we charge lower prices." Hmmmm....so I then go to west valley vision which was less for contact lens and they game me my full benefit (wv vision did seemed higher for frames, though). My insurance changed so my old eye doctor could no longer take me, which was a bummer. So I had to go here. I made an appointment for an eye exam for both contacts and glasses. The exam was quick and painless, except for those darn dilating drops! The optometrist was very polite and informative. I told him about my last pair of contacts and how one of them always seemed to fall out and he told me it was because that eye should have been fitter with an astigmatism contact. Then he also went over the best brands for contacts etc. I liked him, I believe he is very competent and he knows what he is doing. After that I went out to choose out my new glasses frames. Now, they're choices seemed very limited to me, and the frames got quite pricey, there weren't many in the middle price range(if that makes sense). So I finally chose my frames and was talking with the account person? The guy who orders everything for you basically. As I was getting my card out to pay he noticed I had AAA and he informed me that I could get a discount on my contacts for having AAA which was very nice of him. After that was all done with I was told my glasses and contacts should arrive a week after my appointment day. A week goes by, I call to see if my glasses and contacts are in, and only my contacts are in. So I go to pick them up and ask when I should be expecting my glasses, they don't know and say maybe in a few days. I call up three days later asking about my glasses and they don't know why they're not in yet and say maybe next week. The next week I call, not there yet, and someone calls the company to find out what happened, and apparently they didn't pass inspection so it'd be a little while longer. I was glad the lady I called that time found out for me because I get really anxious when I order things and I like to know when to expect things to be finished. I gave this location four stars because of the tiny selection and because it's not as homey as my last eye doctor's place. I guess that makes me biased. Still like it here though. read more

Horrible costumer service! My husband took his glasses in for repair. The staff said, "We dont do that here." Gave my husband a business card for a mobile repair service and that's it. They didn't bother to look up his account. My husband went to a competitor and they weren't able to provide service because he didnt buy the glasses from them. They recommended the Nationwide center located at Camelback and the 101. He went to that location and the staff looked up his account and saw that his glasses are under warranty and will repair them. Overall, I hate Nationwide because with the exception of the ophthalmologists, the staff is unprofessional and they do not care about the clients. I just have to share my wife and I's recent experience shopping for eye glasses at a local Nationwide Vision store in Goodyear, Arizona. My wife recently needed new eye glasses for work and driving and had visited a number of vision stores when she went to a Nationwide Vision near our home. She had such a pleasurable experience mainly due to the assistant manager by the name of Vanessa who assisted my wife throughout the process. Vanessa was very personable, helpful, and knowledgeable and made the chore of having to select frames for two pairs of eye glasses, less daunting. My wife was so pleased with her experience, that she insisted I go and get new eye glasses, since my current pair were more than 4 years old. After bugging me multiple times about it, I finally gave in and went to just look around at some frames. I didn't expect to find the type of frames I like at a reasonable price. I was surprised to find several nice frames in the style I like at a fair price. Next thing I know, I'm making an appointment for an eye exam. I even decided to get a pair of prescription sunglasses. Needless to say our experience there was fantastic, thanks to Vanessa. Never thought I would be glad about my wife bugging me to do something that I usually dread having to do. The best eye exam ever! This doctor was so thorough with my eye exam! She has explained me fully about all eye conditions I had. She has performed all the tests and gave me the sample of the eye drops that will last me for a long time. She was very pleasant to talk to and very nice Asian woman. The wait is too long though and staff need to smile more often! they also try to rip you off when you buy glasses, so be careful what you sign up for! read more

First Of All, I Feel Like Im Partly To Blame For This Bad Experience Because My Gut Told Me Don't Do It But I Went Ahead And Did It. Follow Your Instincts Always. I Went In For An Eye Exam And To See If My Insurance Would Cover Having Clear Prescription Lenses Put Into A Pair Of My Own Oakley Sunglasses. The Eye Exam Went Fine. Nothing Special Or Unpleasant With The Eye Exam. But The Retail/Sales/Service End Was A Nightmare. I Brought In My Own Pair Of Oakley Sunglasses In And Asked Nikki The Sales Manager If She Could Check To See If My Issuance Would Cover Having My Glasses Sent To Oakley To Have The Them Put Prescription Clear Lenses In The Glasses I Brought In. I Was Very Specific That I Wanted The Work To Be Done By Oakley And Only Oakley. So She Was Doing A Bunch Of Typing And Said She Can Have Them Done With $20 Out Of Pocket On My End. I Was Very Happy To Hear That, So I Gave Her The $20 In Cash. After Giving Her The Money I Asked "These Are Going To Oakley To Be Done, Right?" She Then Said No, We Are Having Them Custom Made. I Was Reluctant At That Point To Have The Work Done If It Wasn't Being Done Directly By Oakley. Then She Started Assuring That They (Nationwide) Do This All The Time, She Would Take Good Care Of Me, And That My Glasses Are In Safe Hands. She Also Said That The Glasses Would Be Insured Incase They Would Be Damaged But Rest Assured They Would Not Be Damaged. So The Glasses Were Insured At $200. When I Left The Office I Did Not Feel Good About It At All. I Actually Felt Hustled By Nikki And This Is When I Should Have Walked Back Into The Store And Canceled My Order. But I Didn't And Thats My Own Fault. So, 2 Weeks Later I Get A Call Saying That The Glasses Did Not Pass Quality Control, That The Lenses Made For Them Did Not Properly Fit The Frames. Thats When I Decided To Cancel My Order. I Told Nikki I Was Concerned The Frames Would Be Damaged In The Precess Of Trying To Fit Lenses That Don't Fit Properly. She Canceled The Order And Would Refund My $20. When I Went To Go Pick Up My Glasses My Fears Came To Fruition. When I Put The Glasses On The Flames Had Been Bent So Severely That The Glasses Would Not Stay On My Head When I Looked Down. They Slid Off My Face. I Told The Lady That They Had Been Bent. She Said She Could Adjust Them. She Took The Glasses And Took A Pair Of Pliers And Bent The Frames To "Adjust" Them. Really!?! That Adjusting Them? Needles To Say The Frames Were Tweaked And Did Not Fit On My Face Properly. They Were Crooked. I Told The Lady I Was Not Happy And Wanted To Make An Insurance Claim. She Told Me Too Return The Next Day And Deal With Nikki The Manager. When I Returned The Next Day And Tried To Speak With Nikki It Did Not Take Long For Nikki To Become Extremely Defensive And Was Literally Yelling At Me Like I Was Her 10 Year Old Child. I Asked Her Why Is She Yelling And She Calmed Down A Little But Was Extremely Unprofessional And Refused To Do An Insurance Claim On My Damaged Glasses Cause In Her Opinion They Were Not Damaged. She Basically Told Me She Can't Help Me. It Got To The Point Were I Took My Phone Out To Video Tape Her Unprofessional Behavior. It Also Reached The Point Where She Told Me To Leave The Store & Goodyear Police Had Been Called. I Told Her I Would Wait For The Police To Come. She Started To Yell Once Again To Leave The Store. So I Decided To Leave. And I Can't Lie. On My Way Out I Insulted Her With Profanity Cause I Was So Disgusted At That Point. I Knew There Was No Way I Was Gonna Be Taken Care Of And Finally Lost My Cool. Theres A Reason Why This Place Is Has A 2.5 Star Rating And That Reason Is Nikki And Her Staff. The Horror! I have been forced to go here because of limited options with my eye insurance and their close by location. Each time I go it is a newly eye opening lesson in ripping off customers. One time they ignored my insurance and tried to charge me full rate. Their darkening coating stinks, as it chipped off on both mine and my son's glasses. Their response? I must have left them sitting in a hot car--unlikely since I am blind as a bat without them. The last straw was the last visit when they just automatically upgraded me to the more expensive Trivex lenses for my son. Couldn't explain why that would be beneficial. When I wanted to know the characteristics of the lenses, they told me it was scratch resistant. My son's current glasses are horribly scratched and had the Trivex lens (bought from them). They said that resulted from how they were treated--My response was how would you expect a 5th grader to treat their glasses? I had to try to peek at their computer screen to see my alternatives--surprise! polycarbonate is cheaper and fully covered by my insurance. And, as of a couple of months later, much less scratched. But when I asked about the difference--"we don't know our new system doesn't tell us." Don't you sell glasses here? Unbelievable! I pulled out my phone and googled the difference in about 10 seconds, right in front of them. Polycarbonate is thinner too. Then they tried to tell me the polycarbonate didn't have the full UVA/UVB protection. An outright lie! The manager called me "Hon" as she lied to me. You had better educate yourself on your insurance benefits, and lens options before you go here! Am now going to LensCrafters in Peoria. Not perfect, but way better! read more
