My mother and I travelled an hour via TTC here. She was very impressed and she is not easily impressed by much. We even had lunch here. The dim sum was good and quite fresh. I had a slice of their pizza and am in love. So hot and fresh and plenty of quality ingredients on it. I had the chicken bruschetta. The lady who served me the pizza was very nice and she was also putting the finishing touches to the pizza. (Brushing the crusts with olive oil and sprinkling more cheese on top) Anyways she was doing it with such love you can tell She really took pride in her work. Unfortunately I didn't catch her name. My mom always takes her sweet time when grocery shopping. This time was no exception. We got there at 10:30a.m. On a Thursday so the place want too busy yet. She was licking up so many things and scrutinizing everything. She was like a kid in a candy store. She was impressed with the selection of asian items and said there were a lot of items she couldn't find in any other shop. I asked if she wanted to go back and she quickly said "yes!" Usually she says all the stores are the same. She likes it more than T & T! We will be back! read more

Pros: Lots of variety for a supermarket Excellent food court Places for the kids to play Cons: Aisles are a bit too cluttered and small Nations is part of a new outdoor complex. Think shops on Don Mills at Don Mills and Lawrence but with multiple floors. There's plenty of parking because of the multi floor nature. Nations is a Asian supermarket at its core, but they carry a variety of other items from other cultures that you will not find at most other Asian supermarkets. I came here with two other families to check this place out. We came food lunch and then some grocery shopping after. This supermarket is by far the k lady kid friendly I have ever seen. It has a large food court area, a ginormous jungle gym and an arcade to boot. The food court boasts tons of food choices. You have an international buffet, the Chinese section, pizza, burgers, pasta and so much more. I could lay them all but that would take me all day. They have something for everyone here. The food is also pretty good. Better than hot world expect from a supermarket food court. The play areas are for the kids here. The large jungle gym is about 20 bucks for the day. There are in and out priveledges and patents are allowed to accompany the kids for free. The arcade is pretty much a smaller Dave and Busters. You load credits on a card and use that to pay the games. The actual supermarket has a variety of items that you would normally need to go to multiple supermarkets to buy. The only problem is the Aisles are particularly small to begin with. Coupled with the fact that the staff must leave boxes of items in the Aisles and congestion gets pretty bad. All in all, Nations is a pretty good place to spend an afternoon and still get your groceries done. This place is close to my in law's so I will be coming by often in the future. read more

Was very excited to come here. Lots of pros like the indoor playground & prepared foods section + groceries all in one place. It was clean and orderly. Decent produce. I found prices good or comparable to mainstream supermarkets. I did appreciate that they had lots of products from "nations" that I don't normally see at other shops. Thumbs down for several items that I saw that were 6 Months past best before expiry date. Double thumbs down when I realized that husband bought some other expired products past best before dates when I was with the kiddies in the playground! So the tip here is to look at best before dates before you buy it! Edited review as I forgot to mention: I bought items with "usda organic" labels that I wouldn't expect at this store. It has some diverse stuff if you really look. 2.5 stars out of 5 and I would come back...Still fairly new & so much potential. read more

So excited about this spacious international supermarket! So much selection for hot food (Siu Mei and Dim Sum, YES!), baked goods (both Western and Asian), ethnic grocery, fresh meat and seafood counters, and endless aisles of Asian snacks and candies. This place makes me feel like a kid in a candy store! There are also an arcade, a giant ball pit playground, and a hair salon, so family friendly, you could easily spend a whole day here. This is the best grocery in Toronto! read more

Love this place! It's huge and the produce is great value!! Also, they have diverse "food to go" stations so you can grab a snack or dinner to go before or after shopping. Clean, large aisles. Only critique is the space available for cashing out. It's a bit tight. read more

I work really close by to Nations and I would find myself getting food from here 4 out of the 6 days that I work. First off, parking in Stockyards is horrible. I hated it before Nations even opened up but when they did the parking got so much worse. Besides that, upon entry you'll be able to see the massive kid's play place and arcade. It looked like a Chuckie Cheese on steroids. The games in the arcade are reasonably priced but there's not much to choose from. I usually come here for the sushi and hot plates. The Chinese food combo comes with rice or noodles and two choices of sides and a choice of hot and sour soup or wonton soup. It used to be $7.99 for the order but the price increased to $8.49 since minimum wage went up. The sushi is really good too and I usually get the platter which is 30+ pieces for about $17.99? Worth. I haven't gone grocery shopping here but looking at the prices the food is a little more pricey compared to other Asian supermarkets. I would recommend coming on a weekday as weekends are hectic here! read more

I've been coming to Nations ever since it opened, and I've never had a problem with it. The fresh produce is excellent, and both the meat and seafood departments are both run pretty good. Their baked goods are delicious, especially their pork buns! Their hot food is great as well. They also carry a lot of interesting international foods and other products as well. read more

This grocery store is HUGE! It's actually a bit overwhelming. However, it is well-organized and the large signage helps you navigate the store easily. I like that sale items are well-stocked and prominently displayed. A variety of prepared foods are available, including hot food bar, salad bar, sushi, BBQ chicken, burgers, pizza. A large seating area is available for those who would like to eat on location. An indoor playground (paid) is available and can be booked for kids' parties. I perused the cheese and cured meats section, bakery, butcher counter, fresh fish area and floral section - huge selection of international brands! I shopped primarily the produce section and was impressed by the variety and freshness. read more

First, the prepared foods review: Basically T&T, with cheap prices for average Chinese food, which I'm not against. Unlike T&T, they have a western foods section, but I haven't tried it yet, however the buffet is a nice touch. Their baked goods, however, are lacking compared to T&T, and they need to step it up! With how much prepared food they have, you'd think they'd step up and make a few Chinese bakery staples in house, rather than relying mostly on packaged ones. 4/5. Fish: I buy fish a lot, and the price is great for what they provide. Looking at the flier weekly and finding new types of fish for cheap to prepare in new recipes is exciting and the fish is fairly fresh. The rest of this portion will be purely speculation, so I won't dock them any points for it, but if someone knows better I hope they can make their own judgement. In the recent fliers, they've advertised tuna steak for $5.99/lb. I've tried buying it before, and that price sounds way too good to be true. Not even close to other places. I'm wondering if this is a case of a cheaper fish being passed off as a more expensive one. Of course, I could be completely misinformed, so take it with a grain of salt, unless you're someone who knows a lot about fish. 5/5. The rest: You can find many Asian staples here, including 20 types of chili oil and basically anything you'll ever need from an Asian supermarket. Unless it's a niche product, you'll find it. The produce is also really nice and well priced. So why is my overall rating 3/5? The following is my biggest problem with Nations Experience, and I'll be happy to change my review if they change their practices. Many of their produce is wrapped in Styrofoam and plastic needlessly. You'll buy four bell pepper and they'll be packaged. A few cucumbers? Packaged. What are you protecting them from? I care about the environment, and giving a company that blatantly contributes so much to landfill anything more than a three would go against my principles. While I can enjoy everything else, walking past the produce sours my mood, so 3/5 is the best I can do. Hopefully they read my review and decide to change that. read more

Its a great place to find some special chinese food. The place is busy and they do have a great variety of already made food (food court) option for CHEAP. If you want chinese people to chop to your place it better be cheap price. Somethings that I really dont get is why the fresh fish smell like shit pretty badly? I must also say that its hard to find someone capable to understand English in this store and I only ask for POP CORN lol ! read more

Amazing shopping selection. Mostly Asian but I did spot some Eastern European goods as well. Don't go without a car or buggy because you are bound to buy more than you expected. I found items I haven't seen before like a self-heating hot pot. Prices were good, on par with other places if not lower. Readymade foods were good as well. Smaller selection because of Covid precautions and lower traffic but most of the mainstays at the hot tables still available. I wish I still ate duck and chicken because both looked delicious. I ended up with some excellent vegetarian options. Bakery options were vast. Italian, Portuguese and Vietnamese buns all available. Produce section will have any vegetable from Chinese, Vietnamese, Philippine, Japanese or Thai recipes you come across. Fun shopping and an arcade near the entrance. read more

Nations Experience - A small selection of groceries I found. - International Grocery Near Me - Toronto, Ontario

It is a huge place. There are places to eat in the store and there is a children's playground which their parents can give their birthday party in. You will see something like food court when you enter the building. Then you see regular supermarket. The prices are pretty good. They have Canadian products, Italian products, but their products are predominantly from Asian countries. They have similar products to products in T&T. It is a interesting place, but it is an overwhelming place. If you are not used to shop in a large grocery store, you may not feel comfortable with shopping there. read more

My cousin told me about National Fresh Foods and Experience. Since my first discovery a few months ago, I came back here almost every other week. My children like the sushi there because it is fresh, but not pricey. My husband likes the Dim Sum there, so I ordered take out a few times for my family and guests. My youngest son likes some of their baked goods, too. I like the meat, seafood, and produce departments. They have so may choices when it comes to Asian foods. They also carry some tropical fruits which are not easy to find in the regular Canadian market. Sometimes, they have exceptionally good deals in meat and produce departments. I rarely leave the place without filling up my two huge Costco bags! So guilty being a big spender at the Asian super market! lol read more

There is no mention online about the fact that there is an age limit at the playground. To show up in person and have one of three boys not permitted to play was hugely disappointing - maybe even more so due to his having aged out during the Covid lockdowns. It seems that it is more important to attract prospective clients rather than honestly state the age requirements and risk losing business. 13-16 year olds aren't permitted, even in the capacity of care-givers. Sad. read more

So excited about this place! Just happened to stumble upon it today. It's huge and would be perfect for a weekend outing with the family. Young kids would love the Happy Kingdom Playground with lots of slides and ball pits. A bit pricey at $16.99 plus tax but adults are Free or $2. They have a huge arcade for older kids. The food Court has a TON of delicious options from pizza, burgers to fresh made sushi, dim sum, Chinese food and even an international buffet bar. Best part is the huge Nations grocery story (reminds me of T&T) where parents can shop while the kids play. read more

The entry are to this store is a dirty mess. The lobby area has dried leaves and debris in it. The escalators look grimy. This store needs a really good cleaning. I've been here twice because my sister recommended it to me. The interior of the store is squeeky clean being newly opened. It has a huge variety of goods and appears well stocked. Now this doesn't apply to everyone working there but the customer service needs work. I found two bottles of olive oil containing about 2-3 inches of white globular mould at the bottom and informed an employee who could tell a manager because there was probably something wrong with the bottling process of the olive oil they were purchasing. The staff I informed appeared annoyed and angry that I bothered her with this information and put the mouldy bottles back on the shelf behind the good bottles. Then she turned around and told me, "no one can see" and walked away. Was this an isolated event or are all staff trained to put contaminated goods back on the shelf instead of telling the manager? If anything I am now suspicious of sale items being contaminated. In this instance you could actually see the mould but in other cases it might not be so visibly obvious. I'm half expecting reports of food poisoning from this place not too far in the future. Nations, please train your employees to take rotten goods off the shelves instead of reshelving them right in front of the customer. -_- And then there's the issue with staff's ability to assist customers. I asked one member of staff where the squash was and they just shook their head (but apologized for not understanding my question). It took me about six minutes of walking in circles to finally see where the squash was. If you don't speak Chinese, expect to be looking for everything by yourself in this gigantic place. I can see why some people have left comments about being overwhelmed or staff being unresponsive. I only recommend coming here for recreational purposes for the first couple of visits to get to know where everything is. It's not a place I'd go to if you don't speak the language and dinner needed to be made an hour ago. On the other hand the staff at the customer service counter was very helpful in explaining the weekly flyer prices come into effect on Fridays rather than Thursdays. I would prefer if they made this clear on the flyer. But it's wonderful that some people do speak English! The location for this store is awesome if you live anywhere in the West side of Toronto. Obviously they chose a place where a T&T was nowhere near the area. Good thinking! I've been to T&T numerous times and have never encountered any spoiled goods probably because staff follow the correct protocol for maintaining stock. This place has the potential to go places but really needs to work out some serious kinks. Mind you they opened up where the old Target went belly up. Not that I'm superstitious. read more

Drove from Newmarket to see what all the hype is about for this grocery store. Quick and dirty note: Grocery items: same as any other T & T Supermarket prices and items. There are no more or less novelty fruits and vegetables. Shame on me for taking the words or people who do not know what gai lan, on choy, mangosteen, rambutan, durian, or other kinds of apple that does not look like apple. There were specific items on sale which rarely goes any cheaper, such as salmon steak $4.99 per lb, oranges $ .79 per pound , and chicken wings $1.99 per lb. Then there are items that is same elsewhere like bananas $ .89 per pound. what???! The game place for kids and old kids (grown women and men), this is good for those who really hates waiting for people to finish grocery shopping. Yay for this place. The food court; on my head, I thought there would be like Korean dishes, Japanese dishes, and such. It is actually like T&T's usual dim sum, combo dishes that you normally see, sushi boxes, no Korean dishes at all, bakeries were not warm, a whole station for gelato/bubble tea juicing booth, and pizza, burger, chicken and fries station. There is a salad bar with miscellaneous of dishes (curry dishes, lasagna, Mediterranean rice dishes, chicken masala). My family wanted to try the dim sum items. Bought some, are them there at one of 50-ish tables available. Gotta say, it's not bad, for grocery store standard. Yum. Overall, would I come back, for the Nations Experience, nah. If I live here, then sure. Eat here? Sure, quick and dirty buy. read more

Nations playground: to sum it up with my best description of this place....An oversized McDonald's playland. Great right? It would be, if it was free like the Golden Arches. But it's not free here, far from cheap too. Very expensive for what this play area is; An unsupervised by both Nations and parents (children over 38") playground. You sign a waiver that Nations holds no responsibilities if anything happens to your children, etc. No rules, no max capacity, no cares, just an oversized play area for kids to run wild. On a busy day this place gets really packed and I have no idea how parents can just leave their kids and walk away! But I guess since they advertise it that way, then it makes it okay? Anyways, if I'm going to pay $16.99 plus taxes for a playground that won't hold any responsibility on my child's safety and won't even supervise (even though I'm watching my kids) or ensure the grounds are safe at all times, for example, all kids wearing socks (some were not), no rough playing, (my kid got pushed down the stairs because bigger kids wanted to go ahead of mine), no profanity, (don't even get me started on the mouths on some of these kids) whatever, it also clearly states no food or drink, and parents were feeding their kids grapes and crackers and juice boxes right in play area which is full of those air balls; it's like a pool of plastic balls and you really have no idea what's under your feet!! I would rather go to Woodbine Fantasy Fair, skyzone or anywhere else that actually ensures the safety of the persons entering their grounds. Next I'd like to mention the arcade area.... awesome times! I absolutely loved it (probably more than the kids). But what I can't justify is the tax they make you pay each time you want to reload the card. What's up with that? Like I get it, taxes are on everything, but is it necessary on every top up on a relaodable card (which also cost us $2), like we paid $56.50 each time to reload it.... we spent $170 under 3 hours!!!! They make a killing here!!! And considering it's more older kids than your under 4 kids, they really, really need to smarten up on their prize selection!!!!! What 10 year old wants a bunch of plastic dollar store items??? Even on the more expensive prizes are no interest to anyone really. Like headphones that aren't even wireless and branded?? People are dropping at least $50 to $300 when they walk in the arcade, can you not offer them something more than some airheads and 5 cent lollipops??? The games are are actually more attracting older kids like teens m, they need to get proper prizes and give back to the customers! That's really rude and I'm feeling really ripped off now!!! I'll move on now to the food. The food all looks so great and smells amazing. But we weren't happy when we got the General Tao chicken with noodles, it was not what we expected. The chicken pieces were full of nerves and we kept spitting out pieces and just ended up throwing it out! The noodles were so dry and tasteless! The wings were good, and my kids and husband loved the fried squid. The burger place was terrible too!!! The cuts of meat you use are awful!!! My kids took a couple of bites and spit it out and said that there were bones in it!!! When I bit into my burger, I also was chewing on hard pieces of nerves! Gross! We threw it all out! We would appreciate you choose your cuts of meat wisely and properly. Do you get a better deal for cheaper cuts and quality of your meats? I really hope it's not the case but that's what it seems. I had the beef teriyaki today and it was tasty and the mango smoothie was delicious. I have not tried the buffet yet, and not sure if we will be returning to have a chance to try it. I personally would love to return to get a chance to check out the actual grocery store, it's massive and looks lovely. We have mixed feelings about going back to Nations. In three days we spent over $500 and although the experience was some what fun, we have nothing to show for it. The playground/arcades just really aren't worth it. read more

Very, very disgusted. I rarely ever post reviews, but this experience was way too horrible to not inform anyone on. Our team at work ordered a pizza from here a few days ago and were excited to try this new place. Unfortunately, we almost needed to make a trip to the hospital. Our team member took a bite of the pizza and found a SCREW in it. She nearly broke her tooth and could have easily had severe damage. We then attempted to contact the management at Nations but they were very unhelpful, only saying "oops, sorry". This is such a horrifying experience and no one was able to help. I hope everyone really takes this into consideration before going here. read more

We have been looking forward for Nations to open in this mall. First off, I'm not a fan of how this mall was designed. Whoever designed it, should be fired. With that being said, I was really glad Nations was opening up. It gave me a reason to visit the mall and support my area. When I walked in I was pretty impressed. You can buy food from different background, have an enormous variety of food in the grocery, play in the arcade and drop off your kids at the playground. My wife and I had lunch here and although it wasn't the best, it definitely did not suck. The food was fresh, it just needed more salt in my opinion. Definitely happy with the new addition to the area. read more

This Nations just had their grand opening. There is a lot of excitement over the opening and I definitely understood why when I walked in. This location used to be a Target before they left Canada so the space is very large and they also have their own private lot. They have brought a lot of innovation to their design compared to their other locations, for example: - they have a large ball pen playground for children - they an arcade, similar to the one in cineplex but bigger - the store has large signs that show the designation where specific foods can be found, ie, bakery, seafood, fruits, etc. - they offer a large range of both eastern and western foods Overall, this store will be great for the area since their aren't a lot of grocery stores in the area beside Walmart. read more

Good selection and prices for Latin-American products. Good prices for baked goods. Desperately need more cashiers, especially for the food court area. This place is a riot of sights! It's in an old Target location, very spacious. Adjacent to the main grocery area is an immense food court, with a large playground (pay per child) that includes a ball pit, plus a midway style arcade. This is the BEST GROCERY STORE IN TORONTO, PERIOD. Let me explain why: a) price b) selection c) freshness and d) accessibility. Let's begin with price, Nations is cheaper than any grocery store for a wide variety of staples. Vegetables are mere dollars here i.e. $2 for a bunch of green/red peppers whereas when I visit Loblaws a single pepper is $2. Seafood that is already seasoned and just needs to be cooked is a reasonable $6, or for $9 you can get a whole slab of sushi grade salmon. The meat? Again I got a FULL rack of pork ribs here the other day for $4 per rack. Ridiculous!!!! Next, the selection is unbeatable. Being from the Caribbean, I want some hard to get veggies like chayote squash, dasheen, lemongrass, Chinese eggplant, prickly pear, plantain, and rambutan but Nations never fails to hook it up! Want some sushi? They have an entire prepared sushi area. Don't want to cook? They have TWO GIANT BUFFETS of hot food at reasonable prices! They also have a full aisle of spices, coconut oil and curry to satisfy my needs. Speaking about my needs when it comes to grocery stores, my biggest need is that the produce is absolutely fresh and appetizing. Nations again does not disappoint here: their entire produce and meat departments look like they are from a commercial or magazine. Their veggies? Spotless. Meat? Seasoned and ready to bake. Seafood? Already filleted and rolled with chive butter. Lastly I want to talk about accessibility. While I myself am not differently-abled, I work with those who are so I think about this when critiquing places (although please take what I say with a grain of salt because none of us can truly appreciate the full complexities of having accessibility issues unless you do have them!). From my experience though, I found that this grocery store is fully wheelchair accessible and their aisles are wide and easy to navigate. You can even park on the 2nd floor and take the bridge over to the grocery store for added comfort and ease and not have to park in the crowded first floor areas. Anyway, from any way you slice it, this grocery store is INCREDIBLE and you should do all your shopping here. I have stopped going to T&T, Loblaws, Sobeys and Galleria because everything I need is here AND MORE! read more

I guess if you have all the time in the world to explore a grocery store, then this is the place. If you actually have a shopping list your screwed. Incredibly a lack of signage as to what is where. Arrived today at the front door to be told the escalators aren't working, use the one in the parking garage across the street! When you have made the outdoor cicuit you enter the "Experience" a mind numbing gaggle of flashy lights and lots of sound. You have arrived at the games area!! So, sorry, thought this was a GROCERY store. Get thru the Food Court and hope that the groceries are nearby. First part of the grocery area is a mish mash of everything, no order at all, soup to nuts. Push on past the rotting fish smells onto the rotting vegetable smells. Might as well shop in Chinatown. Prices are not spectacular, but found a few things I wanted and was too exhausted from searching to finish my list. Assuming this was a commercial operation, not a food bank, a checkout section would be a good idea. Why hunt some more just to pay for this crap when you are presented with several exits that bypass the cash register. Bring your own bags and get free groceries. Don't see much of a distant future for this store as the entire mall is poorly designed, proves customers are not right, and is generally deserted. read more
