If you'd asked me to guess where the best reviewed donut place in South Carolina would be, I would…read moredefinitely have said Charleston area. Or maybe Greenville. But Yelp, among others, apparently decided that this is the place, in Gaffney, SC. It is attached to a fairly worn down gas station, and one is greeted by bible verses at the door. I probably sold myself short by hiking first and arriving a half hour before closing as they were sold out of what I assume was a much better variety. I took a danish and was offered a free glazed donut as a Father's Day special despite not being a father. Realistically, I think they just wanted to clear out inventory. I paid in cash and kept getting offered more than the correct amount of change. Have to say though, it was a remarkably delicious cream in that danish. I wish I'd been able to try more flavors, but what I found is pretty much the archetype of a little donut place in South Carolina.

I heard about this place from some friends years ago and regularly frequented for the killer deli sandwiches and old world bakery. Back then it was called Troyer's but recently went back and the entire shopping/dining experience has been elevated in the best of ways!!!! I was greeted immediately when I walked in by a super sweet couple rocking out the incredible sandwiches! I found out they had been making the Troyer's sandwiches for years which was so cool. Come to find out they now have beef, pork, lamb & chicken for sale grown right on the same property! I grilled a ribeye that next day and the flavor was on par with anything from the chop shop! I also found out they have a CSA that delivers right to my home which makes for least waste and need to use the corporate grocery store so often. The grocery section has so many options from dry goods to locally made products they have you covered. I picked up goats milk soap, spicy pickles, champagne mustard, old world candy, and an amazing soup my family loved. The oatmeal crème pie is by far the best dessert after an amazing sandwich I've ever had the pleasure of enjoying. I also grabbed a loaf of fresh baked and it was to die for! The front porch is pet friendly and I really enjoyed the ambiance with birds chirping and laughter from the 10 local fireman all enjoying the same vibe!

The waitress has a hard time finding our table she walked around at two different times look for our number and when she found our table she I'm sorry those numbers are hard to find. I think the numbers should be taller so the wait staff can see them. Anyway the food was good and tasty. But the falafel bowl is kinda dry and the tzatziki sauce tastes like sour cream. It come out of plastic container. I added Greek dressing to my falafel bowl. It was better. ( please work on the falafel bowl no one likes a dry bowl) My friends had gotten the Hot Mother Clucker is was so delicious . The nitty gritty bowl my friend says it was good but there were burnt flakes in it she wasn't sure what that was. Pearl Sugar Waffles were good by way to sweet. The "Big fatty "breakfast burrito was very small and thin for $12.00 not worth the price but it was delicious. I know this is a small town and heard this was a great place to eat. So we decide to try it out. Needs a little tweaking between the servers. Free water cups are 4oz , they should actually have clear plastic water cups that are a little larger. It would've also been nice to have a pitcher of water or something over by the tea. So you could fill up your own glass. When the Resturant is busy you had to wait to ask for a refill by then your food is cold. This place could be good if tweaked. If you're not sure about my review check it out yourselves. Good luck.
