Anybody who's been interested in secondary education during this epidemic knows how hard it is to make it work. NTI makes it happen. I was a reinforcing ironworkers apprentice for 416. Awesome job right? Wrong. Sure they pay was great and there were amazing benefits too but the people and culture are absolutely terrible. I found myself in a position where I loved my work but absolutely hated my job. I knew I had to get out so when we inevitably got laid off due to Covid, I applied for and received a grant through DETR that is specifically designed for adults who want to change careers. I didn't look back. I knew I liked and wanted to work with my hands, I knew I couldn't be stationary and the added bonus of running diagnostics made HVAC on an obvious choice. NTI was the superior choice among the HVAC programs covered by the grant. In comparison to all, it should really be the only one. I took the hybrid course (20 chapters online and 5 weeks in person). They have awesome facilities and a bunch of different equipment for you to tinker with and learn all the ins and outs. The front staff is awesome as I'm sure are the other instructors but Adam (the instructor I had) is the shit. He legitimately cares if you understood the material and what's happening in the systems. He'll come in early before class to work with you if you're struggling and he'll stay late just the same. Adam is a super cool dude too, he made class really enjoyable because he clearly wasn't there to collect a paycheck and enjoys teaching a trade in which he is an expert. You probably aren't going to believe this but, on the 3rd week of class, during Wednesday's instruction I was reaaaaallly slacking off so ADAM pushed me to do something productive at least. I filled out a job application on indeed for one of the top HVAC companies in town and since I had time, I wrote a good cover letter. I was called the very next morning for an interview! I started work on monday of week 4! Two weeks BEFORE graduation.... Now I make waaaaay more than I did ironworking and it's significantly easier. Guys it won't be easy and it'll take a lot of work but if you want to better yourself you must CREATE YOU'RE OWN PATH and take control of your life. Set a goal and commit head first. read more

I went to this school for the electrical course Shawn was my instructor and he was a big time jerk he get mad if you didn't understand it and would put you down in front of everyone also they calm to help you with getting a job afterwards that's a total lie I would repeatedly hit him up asking for help to little to no reply or help. don't get me work I learned a lot and Shawn did help me with my final and for that I'm very thankful but I can't help but have a sour taste in my mouth about this place I would really consider what your getting in to before you sign up for this place read more

I attended this school back in 2020. When I went for orientation to assess the school before investing $8000 in the course, there were no obvious red flags. I was excited about the opportunity to receive this education and delve into plumbing with an open mind. However, what wasn't explained to me is that NTI was in the process of changing properties during my curriculum, and we were expected to handle much of the moving ourselves as part of our 'learning.' This included moving boxes, cleaning out trash and clutter from the new building, and various other tasks that didn't contribute to my education. This took up approximately 40% of my $8000 course, which was disappointing. During this complete waste of time, we met our instructor, Dave. It was clear that NTI was Dave's first teaching job, as he would quickly become agitated and raise his voice over minor inconveniences such as questions about the curriculum or difficulties understanding the material. Dave, to put it lightly, was one of the most unpleasant people I've encountered, and unfortunately he was responsible for my education. While Dave was capable as an instructor if you understood everything perfectly on the first try and never made mistakes, any errors were met with condescending remarks and confrontation. If you attend the plumbing course, hope and pray that Dave isn't your instuctor and hope and pray you get Kodi as your instructor. read more

I had a great plumbing instructor, Stone carnie. he was very professional and helpful.

Great Instructors all were very helpful and instructed to the best of their ability. Instructor Shaun was very helpful.

I came out the military dead set just going in the workforce. I never thought I'd attend any kind of college or trade school of my life. Come to this school they made it so easy to use my G.I. Bill 2024 and get enrolled like nothing. The school has been amazing and instructors have been even more amazing. The staff has been so friendly and helpful to me along my journey. I totally recommend school 10 out of 10 if I could give it more I would. read more

First I want to thank Laurie for processing me and convincing me to join the NTI family. Laurie is very friendly and will make you feel welcomed. I want to thank instructors Dave, Stone, Randy, and Kodi for giving me the knowledge and skill sets to step out into the plumbing field. I was a little nervous at first because I didn't know much about plumbing. Next thing I know I'm already uninstalling and reinstalling toilets, kitchen sinks, bathroom sinks, and many more things. The instructors are very real and friendly and know what they are doing. The instructors know how to teach and make it fun at the same time. The way the school is set up is very professional. This program will guide you through every step. You will be learning the skills, terminologies, and how to establish a job after graduating. If I could turn back time, I would join this program all over again ! Once again thank you all for the opportunity. read more

I'm more than half way done in the Plumbers program and I'm learning so many new skills each day. Our instructor Chris is one of the most experienced and informative teachers I've ever had the pleasure to be taught by. If you're motivated and want to get out of whatever career you're currently in, I can wholeheartedly recommend this school to take you to the promised land. They offer training programs in HVAC and Electrician, but if you want a real job, the Plumbing Technician program is the way to go!! read more

Just Graduated from here, best experience and training I have received. Staff here is amazing and they are willing to be there and help

This school is very shady when it comes to refund. I have dropped out of the electrical class due to the electrical teacher Mr. O trying to charge his students $100 to go more in depth to a question we have. I have mentioned this with the staff and made it aware to them. They told me i will get a refund of my down payment when i talked in the phone and i even came in person with Jeremy the finance guy. Its been a month now and they have been avoiding me. They ended up replying back to me and said i wasn't going get my refund no more, i literally have pictures and recording of them literally saying i was. This school very shady when it comes to refunds but are quick to charge your card. Terrible read more

The course is great, the instructors are pretty good too but the in house financing will screw you, get a signature loan from your bank.

Great learning experience with NTI! Instructors Jon, Erik, and Caleb were very knowledgeable and helpful!

Awesome experience. 1st trade I ever attended. Recommend to all my friends looking for a new career. Thanks Jonathan!

No matter how good the training, no matter how bright a future might be for a graduate, there is no excuse for humiliating a student. In these times of layoffs and covid lockdown a person has to look for work while going to & paying for school. I watched a graduating student being humiliated in front of their fellow students because they came up short on a payment. NTI might teach the greatest classes, build the best skills, and create the hard working people of tomorrow who get things done, but there is no excuse for kicking a person when they are down. None. read more

If you're considering trade school you should definitely come here. I just graduated the HVAC program and luckily Jonathan Wilson was my instructor. He's honestly the best instructor you could ask for. He's very patient, you can tell he wants you to succeed and he breaks things down so you could understand them better. It's a very hands on course. They have the labs where you could learn and practice as well as provide you with tools when you graduate. 10/10 would recommend read more

Overall I feel my experience at NTI could have been a bit more better did I learn some things absolutely but I feel we could have touched up on few more things that we weren't able to and spend less days on other things that seemed easy for us our instructor for HVAC Class Mr. S is very knowledgeable and did help a lot with questions as well with other assistance from other instructors Caleb Wilson Danny what I did like is that we are able to come attend more classes for HVAC even after graduation would I recommend this school to other friends honestly yes I would. read more

I'd say save your money, if you're eager to learn the baby basic of hvac, plumbing, or electrical then go for it but I wouldn't nudge. I'd say an apprenticeship or learner position in any of the trades would get your foot through door but any entry level certificate will not beat someone who is experienced. read more

Going in the traditional plumbing program, i was nervous. Previously, i have never heard anything about NTI so i didnt know what to expect. As a graduate, i can wholeheartedly that this was a fantastic decision to make that leap into the plumbing field. The instructors Dave and Randy have both been incredibly mentors. read more

I went through the plumbing course, they teach you the basics. It's been a Year and $5,000 later now since I completed the course and I cannot even get a call back from companies. Not one interview. I thought the NTI "brand" meant something but I guess I was wrong. So far it's been a complete waste of money and time. read more

I recently became a proud graduate of NTI. I came in as an office manager of an HVAC company wanting to expand my knowledge and be more helpful to my company. Our instructor, Travis, did a really great job of explaining all of the information in the course and answering all of our questions. The class was a great introduction into the HVAC world. I'm excited to use what Travis has taught us in the field. read more

This school is amazing! I feel I learn best when I'm hands on. This school does just that. The trainers are thorough and patient and do their best to make sure you succeed. They have several stations that you can gain practical experience with and you get to work with the same tools and scenarios that you would in the field. The educators go out of their way to stay after and come in on off days to make sure you're proficient in what theyre teaching you. I've installed AC units in the past and this school has taught me the correct way to approach this trade. I highly recommend this school if you're looking to get into the HVACR trade the correct way. read more

I recently attended National Technical institute. I had a great experience. The instruction was exactly what was needed to get started in the HVAC field. The teachers are very knowledgeable and the the labs have all new equipment to work on. A lot of time is spent in the lab doing hands on work. I find that I learn a lot more doing hands on training. The office staff I'd great. Always willing to help out. They will help you build a resume, and send you leads for jobs after graduating. All your tools are provided with the tuition cost. Upon completion of the school, you are ready to enter the HVAC field. They have day and night classes available. If you are looking to learn air conditioning, I highly recommend checking NTI out. read more

What a scam!!!! They are charging $9,170 when you can go to work for a plumbing contractor and not have to pay any money. Once you are employed you can join an apprentice program and pay nothing . You will graduate after 4 years with a Journeyman card. read more

Took the HVACR hybrid course. Took 4 months. Was a little scared of the amount of information in such a short time, but was given a lot of resources to be successful. Tool kit was provided at the end of completion to get you going. Was given the opportunity to come back if we needed any practice. Mr. S was a good teacher. Very thorough and always available to answer the same questions over and over. Was informed of job opportunities and taught how to fill a resume if needed. Highly recommended from a middle-aged former student. If i can do it, so can you. read more

I definitely recommend this program because I came in not knowing anything about plumbing but now leaving confident like I have learned plenty from my instructor Dave Snow, he's very knowledgeable and helpful. read more

Very useful course that taught basic plumbing skills which can be used to obtain an entry level plumbing job or just to save money on plumbing at home. Half the class was lecture/classroom based, and other half in a lab where we broke apart and reassembled various plumbing related fixtures, pipes, etc. Also learned basic trouble shooting. The course also reviewed some very basic (probably 3rd or 4th grade level) math. The program supports VA GIbill students, however in this case it is only considered 3/4 time, which can impact benefits. The school provided a couple of employment leads, and graduating students with a nice tool bag. read more

Just graduated today from the night time HVACR course in class. I would say what an amazing experience. No BS no messing around everyday was something new. If you have never done online program, I wouldn't do this program. (The campus might be different) This was my first class in HVAC. 1. I know there are other programs available that allow you more flexibility. 2. There isn't much help other than what is available online from the lectures. 3. I have tried to contact people .. no one answers after I have paid them the money. 4. The online forum isn't active at all 5. I feel like the questions are not coordinated with the lectures sometimes. read more

I was totally excited about starting a new career in hvac. I got set up and started classes. Very quickly I could see issues with communications of work!! The teacher Ty is a horrible teacher and isn't able to get lessons taught. I was thrown out at week 5 because Ty got his panties in a bunch?? They really did nothing to help and in the end it was a waste of time and money!!! You really should give thought to going here!! I wouldn't recommend going here!!!!!! read more

This school is a rip off my cousin went there a black man only to get into a argument with his instructor because he kept calling him the wrong name and out of his name so they kicked him out instead of firing the instructor they kept his money and now they trying to get him to pay 6000 more dollars after they kicked him out and he had only two weeks left now they keep calling trying to get him to start all over so they can get money out of him why would he do that all over again and if was such a problem why would you want him to come back to the same instructor who got him kicked out y'all are unfair to black people but y'all want our money to keep your business going y'all are wrong for that and the instructor never apologized to him for calling him out of his name and racial slurs who ever owns this school needs to fire people from the top on down if you don't we coming to your parking lot to let people no not to go here now what ever y'all need to do fix it do it if not I will write a review everyday and he will not be paying y'all no 6000 dollars we fixing to sue for his money back trust me I am a child of god speaking to you. My husband attended the HVAC/R course in 2018 with Ty as his instructor. He had a great experience! They have day and evening classes. There is a lot of hands on learning along with in class instruction and book work. Just like any other school there are expectations for conduct, attendance, and completing your work which was made very clear when we did the tour of the school. But if my husband could do it than any responsible person can, he worked full time supporting our family of 6 and attended class in the evening. He graduated and passed his universal EPA certification the first time thanks to the great education he received from his instructor Ty. My husband speaks very highly of Ty and the adept instruction he gives to his class and even still keeps in contact with him. He must have the patience of Job to be able to teach my husband My husband received support long after graduating and has his instructor and classmates that he can always contact if he comes upon a situation that stumps him. My husband has been working in HVAC and has been able to advance his career greatly since he graduated. This school gave my husband a great start to a very successful career and truly changed our family's life. I highly recommend this school to anyone that is considering it! Ty branaman, David, and Kelly I went to this school in the summer of 2018 and since then I found 2 jobs in the Hvac field and have done pretty well for myself and I can honestly say with the education that I received from the school has helped me out very much. Not only does this school help you to get interviews with a bunch of different Hvac companies here in town David will also help you prep your resume. David and Ty will give you pointers on how to nail your interview the do's and don'ts even on how to dress. I'm my experience Kelly was very helpful and kind she was always cheering all of us on and always was happy to see every one of us If I had an issue with being there on time or not being able to make it because of work they had no issues and were always very understanding. Now as for my teacher Ty Branaman, well he was the best teacher I've ever had. He is very knowledgeable, patient, and fun and has the best Hvac dad jokes lol! I had a great time learning from him and if we(any one in the class) didn't understand something right away he was always ready to help or allow us to work together to solve the problem(unless its on a test). The problem solving and troubleshooting I learned in class has helped me out a lot in the field and one of the great things about Ty is that even though your no longer in his class, you can call or text him with an Hvac issue and he'll be there to help any time I needed his help he always got back to me really fast. He's one of the best teachers I've ever had in fact to be honest the only teacher I ever actually listened too lol. I would recommend this school to everyone and I have friends that went to this school because they could see the knowledge I've learned. Best money spent on a trade school. I earned 60k in my first year and I'm only getting better! read more

Great school , environment and instructors. I knew nothing about Plumbing and rarely picked up tools in my life. Regardless this is the perfect course even you if you know nothing like myself. Learning in the lab with actually tools and fixtures made it all easier to grasp the knowledge of the trade . But more than anything the instructors Kodi & Dave were very interactive , helpful and patient with whatever we needed. I highly recommend this school. read more
