I attended this school a few months back and graduated..Staff is very friendly, they go above and beyond to get you prepared in order to get you to the next level. If you do what you need to do you should have no Issues..the people leaving bad reviews and talking down on the school are the same people that didn't take their barbering career serious, you gotta remember that at the end of the day it's on you to wanna learn. So the goal is simple, study, do what they say and finish all the services required. 1500 hours(9 months) go really fast. And then it's off the shop to make serious money. I have no complains, Masterpiece let me invest in myself and gave me an opportunity to change my life forever. Thankful for all the staff and all of their experiences and knowledge they dropped on me.

My time at the school was great. The teachers the students the environment was very friendly and educational. You can tell that the teachers have a great passion for barbering. I had to wait seven months to get into the school but it was well worth the wait. I won't forget my time here. If you're looking to become a barber this is the school for you check it out!!!

Overall my experience at Masterpiece was great in every aspect. Great environment for learning the instructors and Ms. Joy they have all the passion and best interest for you. This school will prepare you for your new career with plenty of hands on training, the school stays busy with all types of clientele from seniors, young adults, teens and kids. I recommend this school to anyone who is trying to become a future barber.

I had the privilege of graduating barber college from the most prestigious Barber College in Nevada. I learned so much. "You gonna learn today" :) I was more than prepared and educated and passed my Registered Barber Exam on the first try! Mr Allen and Mr Green are two passionate instructors who really care about you and give you outstanding knowledge and a great experience. I will be forever grateful for them both. Thank you

Concerns Over 160 Driving Academy's Temporary Suspension of PTO Accruals…read more Recently, 160 Driving Academy's CEO Steve Gold announced a temporary suspension of Paid Time Off (PTO) accruals for all employees, effective June 15, 2025. This decision affects every level of staff--from hardworking CDL instructors and support personnel to managers and possibly even corporate employees. While the official communication framed this as a cost-management strategy, it lacked transparency on the root causes and failed to acknowledge the human impact of this policy. PTO is not just a company benefit--it is a crucial part of supporting work-life balance, mental health, and personal well-being. These are not luxuries; they are necessities for people who perform physically demanding and safety-critical roles every day. For instructors training the next generation of commercial drivers and for those who support that mission, time off is essential for avoiding burnout and maintaining high standards of service. 160 Driving Academy has built relationships with major partners like Amazon, Amazon Career Choice, Swift Transportation, and Freeworld--a tech-enabled nonprofit company that aims to end generational poverty and recidivism by accelerating economic mobility for returning citizens, which is good for society as a whole. These partners may rightly begin to ask: Is this an organization that values its people? Is it stable enough to invest in?. The legality of suspending PTO accruals varies from state to state, depending on local labor laws. However, the broader and more urgent question is not legal--it's ethical and practical:What will this do to employee morale? How will it affect performance, retention, and the reputation of 160 Driving Academy? In times of financial difficulty, transparency, shared sacrifice, and leadership empathy are critical. When cost-saving measures are implemented without meaningful dialogue, it sends a message that the burden falls solely on employees. We urge the leadership of 160 Driving Academy to reconsider or clarify this decision and provide a timeline for reinstating PTO accruals. Long-term success cannot be built on the erosion of trust, morale, and well-being

Throughout my time here, I witnessed many positive changes that directly benefited students and enhanced our learning experience. The faculty has been incredibly supportive, advocating for students' concerns while maintaining transparency and accountability. They provided the necessary resources for those willing to take initiative in their education and seek help when needed. Dean Green, in particular, actively listened to our feedback as nursing students and implemented meaningful changes that improved the program. The instructors were dedicated to our success, guiding us through complex nursing concepts and ensuring we were well-prepared for clinical practice. Hands-on experience in both the skills lab and clinical rotations was invaluable, allowing us to apply what we learned in real-world healthcare settings. These experiences truly reinforced our critical thinking and patient care skills. Overall, my time here was a transformative journey, and I am grateful for the education, mentorship, and hands-on experiences that have prepared me to begin my career as a nurse. I've made long-lasting relationships with faculty, and students from different terms and programs and look forward to staying in touch :)

I am a former student and graduate of this institute, and based on my firsthand experience, courses are rushed to the point where students barely have time to actually learn the material, creating a chaotic and stressful environment instead of a proper educational one. The institute clearly does not care about the quality of education or who actually graduates, they only care about money. Tuition was originally $18,500 and was suddenly raised to $20,500, with no justification or improvement in education or resources to match the increase. to be honest, a perfect example of this lack of organization was the laser course, which was a required course to complete the program. Instead of ensuring students had proper access and time to finish, the institute started another laser course for a different class at the same time. This created unnecessary competition for limited rooms and equipment, making an already important course extremely stressful and difficult to complete. They track things that don't benefit students and ignore what actually matters for learning and success. Everything feels money driven rather than student focused. Save yourself the frustration, stress, and wasted money, do not attend this school. Choose a different institute that actually values its students and their future.
