After waiting 2 months to have my mobility scooter fixed, Ken B showed up last Friday and "fixed" it. After driving 1/2 mile it stopped. Same issue. Motor running but no forward movement. Called immediately but no one called me back. Called Monday, informed them I was going on vacation and had to have it fixed this week. Was told the mechanic would be here Tuesday between 12 and 4. No one showed up, no call, no nuthin'. Called today and the National Rep called the branch scheduler told her the tech stopped but i wasn't home. Absolute lie. Finally talked to the mechanic who apologized profusely for not showing up the day before, confirming the scheduler lied. This is no way to treat customers. Unfortunately since this is the vendor Kaiser uses, I am stuck with them. read more

Service has gone completely downhill in the last year and a half. Right now, my quadriplegic son's chair is dead. He was given a appointment thirty days from the day he called, and thats just to have a technician to come and see what the problem is. Usually they need a part, so who knows how long it will be after that. In the meantime, he'll probably get a sore from sitting in the same place.And not being able to do releases, it just goes on and on the effects of not having your chair and being able to move are greater than just being able to get from room to room.Although that's huge too.Who wants to be trapped read more

National Seating & Mobility, please update your appointment confirmation text to reflect that you need confirmation or else the technician will not arrive. A confirmation text that does not request any action from the customer and says "(name) will arrive at your home between (time) and (time). Please contact us if you have any questions." does not appropriately communicate that you are requesting action from the customer to confirm the appointment. read more

They deserve zero stars, and should be investigated for Medicare fraud. $3000 for a custom wheelchair that started falling apart within months? First the handwheel fell off, and now the entire wheel is loose. So the client can tighten it up with a wrench--but shouldn't there be a lock nut or cotter pin or some other secure connection besides just tightening a nut every so often to keep your wheel on? Of course, the company can't repair anything within several months--also ridiculous. I learned that last time. We got the chair through Kaiser so I'll just call Kaiser and see what they can do, and see if Kaiser would like to change to a competent and reliable company. Have a paralyzed relative in a nursing home basically on lock down and this location made a miracle for my family member and brightened her days! Now she can at least get around the nursing home. I was measured for my custom chair back in March of 2020, and now it is SEPTEMBER. Then California was hit by the fires in August. Well, when the fire was 17 miles from my house, I called to check on the status of my chair. I was told it was not yet built, so I risked staying in my home and burning to death, as without my chair I could not escape. Turns out, they DID have the chair already sitting for 3 days in their warehouse, it was just not convenient to schedule a delivery for another 12 days!!! Tenesia, the branch manager insisted that the chair still needed to be "built" but this is a custom chair that EVERYTHING pops on and off in a snap (it is made for the disabled) and it would have taken a whole ONE HOUR to build in a timely fashion. And guess what, I STILL do not have my chair that. PAID IN FULL Please do not use this horrible company! read more

In December 2022, my power chair stopped working. I had just received a dog I was training to be a service animal. I did not get the chair back until May/June 2023. No loaners available. I was essentially isolated, aside from Covid, to my house during this period. Terrible communication between insurance and National, sitting and myself. It is the contracted vendor to my insurance; I am not looking forward to working with them at all. Next time. I wish that there would be a way of consumers having a way of leading health providers know how terrible they are. Have tried to get a hold of the representative who initially took my order after I had my physician fax over my Doctor. After several attempts to have them follow up on the order they hasn't returned my emails or phone calls. Tried the main number and left several messages, no response. Very poor customer service. I had a bath transfer bench installed by an employee of National Seating & Mobility. The bench was not installed correctly resulting in damage to the bathtub. It took 13 months of phone calls and emails from me to finally have a reply that they felt they were not responsible. Not taking responsibility for workmanship of employees is a reflection of a company who does not have the best interest of their clients. read more

Last week I brought my disabled friend to NSM for wheelchair adjustments. We expected about 2 hours max just to replace some parts. However, 2 hrs turned into 3, then after losing our paratransit rides twice to get home, we were stck there for nearly 5 hours! Now, I am not giving NSM a 5 star rating for the shop guys in the back who were JUST missing a screw (a screw?!? In a maintenance shop?) I am deducting a start for that. However...I am giving ALL the stars to Ken, in the front office. He was extremely helpful in haggling with the paratransit folks to get us a ride home, AND stayed with us until one finally arrived! That meant staying 2 hours after closing time! Without him on our side, we would have lost all hope in getting home. Thank you Ken!! You're the best!! read more

UPDATE: Thanks to Katrina Young and national seating, it's now been A YEAR since our wheelchair evaluation and 4 months since she canceled my son's (he's terminally ill) wheelchair and bath equipment. He is JUST NOW getting a new evaluation thru his Dr to a different dme provider. That's A YEAR of not having proper wheelchair settings/cushion and NO bath support. He can't sit up by himself on his current shower chair. Which means someone has to physically support him while someone else washes. Does KATRINA or NSM care? Nope. It's my wish that one day these people are sick and no one will provide them with needed equipment. I hope they remember how they treated my CHILD. I hope they are treated the same. THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT TERMINALLY ILL CHILDREN and they don't care about you. read more

My problems with NS&M go back years. Here's a small sampler of what I've dealt with: I once had an appointment to go out to their office. I arrive, and nobody's there. Finally, I find someone, and they look at the computer ... and I'm not scheduled. I once needed a tire change at my home, and had made a small modification to my wheelchair - and the tech wouldn't touch the chair because they didn't make the change. No new tires. I was left high and dry. Yesterday, I was supposed to get a new seat cushion delivered between 9 and 11 a.m. They hadn't arrived by 11:20, so I called for an ETA. The person on the other end told me, "Oh, uh, we haven't received your seat yet." Then why schedule an appointment with a two hour window? All this grief, but I'm stuck. They're who Kaiser Permanente goes with, so I have to deal with these schmucks. AVOID if you can. read more

Worst nightmare imaginable. Ordered an electric scooter in November, 2020. My insurance company, Florida Blue, approved the unit on January 15, 2021. In about April I began calling NSM to ask about the status. At first they were pleasant and answered my questions, saying it would "arrive soon." June came and I was told "It will be here in no more than one week." July and August passed and still nothing, except that now NSM was no longer answering the phone or returning any calls. I called their corporate office, which sent me back to the local branch. I started begging them, leaving one message that said: "Please, please please return my calls. I am disabled and walking causes me great pain. I desperately need this equipment. Please call me back as soon as you can." Absolutely nothing. Two weeks later I left a different message: "This call is being recorded for legal purposes. You have not returned my calls or provided any information on DME that was approved back in January by my insurance company. I am a disabled person with rights under the Americans with Disabilities Act, and you are failing to provide DME I have been approved for." Absolutely nothing. Finally one day, a rep happened to answer the phone. I stated as before: "This call is being recorded for legal purposes. You have not returned my calls or provided any information on DME that was approved back in January by my insurance company. I am a disabled person with rights under the Americans with Disabilities Act, and you are failing to provide DME I have been approved for." She put me on hold and then came back and said, "Since this call is being recorded, you need to speak with our legal department. I can take a message for them to call you." Absolutely nothing. My pursuit of legal action continues. Completely and wholly stunning. This degenerate company has been the bane of my existence for over a year now. I did not want to start all over with another company, knowing it would take a long time to begin the process again, but I have no choice. It is now January, 2022. The nightmare began 15 months ago and is ongoing. This horrible company should be outed and shamed in all forms of media and social media, and banned from providing DME or any other products anywhere in the US. The place looks a bit shady, in a strip-mall like building in an unfashionable part of town. The office could use a coat of paint and a new location. Those are the negatives, which are completely offset by the people. Belina, Linda, and Keith are super-enabling ninjas who use their skills to give wings (well, it feels like wings) to disabled people. They work with you and your insurance to get you the best device possible at a price that makes it easy for insurance to approve (likely why the building looks like it does). They are friendly, empathetic, responsive, and respectful. I wouldn't shop for mobility solutions anywhere else! Oh, and I should note, we visited the San Jose location. read more

After getting sexually harrassed at the Campbell office, I moved to Hayward. My primary insurance got cut off, they refused to bill my other insurance, telling me to wait until my primary comes back. I have been trying to get them to help me since march of this year 2021. They dont ever answer their phones, they are not willing to help you. I have had a broken wheel chair since march. They are not willing to go the extra mile to contact the doctors office when things are what they need. You have to do all the leg work. This is the worst company I've dealt with in a long time. I have had a chair as it is supposedly on order for the last six months. No progress on that order despite me having Medicare Medi-Cal and Blue Cross blue shield insurance to cover the cost. I have a loaner chair right now that breaks down and does not come on. Numerous calls to the company are either not answered or technician say they don't have time to come and call the one 800 number. Currently I have a tour it will not turn on for the last seven days I have called the companies 800 number daily no one ever answers but I've left a message every day. Call the last text that was here to look at the chair six weeks ago and he either does not take my call sending me directly to voicemail or tells me it is his day off add to call the 800 number. Meanwhile I'm stuck with a chair that doesn't work no Quick solution on the horizon at all. My daughter's power chair was broken early March and we contacted them for a repair because they are the authorized service vendor for ProMobile. They refused to do anything and claimed they could only do something after approval from Insurance company. Ok, fair for a $$$ demanding shop. However, the staff failed to submit the required documents to insurance company timely and they laid to us. Why did we know this? Because my husband followed up with insurance company, National Seating & Mobility and CCS EVERY DAY. Finally they agreed to order the parts and schedule a fix-up appointment after insurance approval. First appointment, No show!!! 2nd one, the technician showed but he failed to fix it two weeks ago and my husband called them immediately the same day the technician came and reported the situation. Still now is the last day of April, my daughter's power chair is still not fixed. they claimed they can only come next week. Very ridiculous unprofessional business. My daughter fell from a temp chair and got hurt. They created so much hardship and difficulty to disadvantaged people. Think about a person needs power chair for mobility and did not have it for almost two months due to this unprofessional and poor service. This is not the first time we experienced challenges similar to this. However, this incident made me to write a review on Yelp, which I don't do very often. Business is located in Harahan, Louisiana So I have an opportunity to vent and here goes. It's been a month now since I ordered a battery charger and battery for Steve's wheelchair. When I ordered it I thought they had placed the order. But then about a week ago I found out they were waiting for his insurance to approve it. They did. I thought it would be done quickly. I found out today they are now waiting for Medicare. Meanwhile my quadriplegic son has a wheelchair that won't work. I have been able to charge it with a rubberband but it is tricky and sometimes it doesn't work. This business is national seating and mobility in Harahan. No phone calls to give us updates during the entire time. And the sales department has not even returned my calls.Can anyone give me the name of a good company that responds to special needs? Any suggestions is appreciated. Thanks for listening. I called yesterday on December 21 and found out they still have not ordered the parts. This is the worst company I have ever dealt with. They have no technicians, no loaners, no rentals, and they recommend crappy Amy System chairs that are cheaply made and fall apart with minor use.
