I have had a very bad experience with this company since purchasing a Power chair from them 15 months ago. They charged my insurance company over $86,000 for a Power chair. It has been repaired at least five times in the year that I've had it and most recently, the chair completely failed while I was out. I was stranded for over four hours trying to figure out how I was going to get home. Numerous calls to the supervisor were not returned. Having a chronic illness is difficult enough to deal with, but then dealing with a company such as this makes it even harder when you cannot depend on them or their equipment read more

Extremely poor customer service. They want to sell you a custom (ie expensive wheel chair) that breaks within a month. Then, they are unreachable and entirely unhelpful in getting it fixed. A screw fell out of brake mechanism and they refused to help WHILE in the warranty period. Don't buy from National Seating- big mistake!! read more

Absolutely horrible customer service. My new wheelchair is 6 inches longer than it should be. All I was asked is why it took me so long to bring it to their attention. read more

SUCKY COMPANY This company Is next to one of the worst wheel chair companies. My kid has been home from his much needed program since October 2024 it's now January 2025. I had to order his parts but when the parts came they scheduled his appointment Rescheduled his appointment because technician couldn't make it to our location therefore we had to wait another 2 months here we are in January they called and canceled again to cancel from the 20th of January to February 17th. I don't have faith they will show up then He's losing his slot for his program due to their technicians always sick or calling off. I understand things happen but damn. I sympathize and understand but this is ridiculous. If their technician isn't going to come to work get someone else to come out and make do repairs. he can stay in and do repairs. The scheduler asked me if we can bring him there. Yeah we can on Pace but we had a major major issue the last time we came there in which I can't discuss. They are good at asking you bring your child or your loved one to them. Maybe they shouldn't have mobile service because it sucks ass. I had some people to tell me to not use national seating and I did the Dum Dum and had them to do his chair. The sad part is when it comes to disability needs you don't have a whole lot of options unless you're rich, whereas you can afford to ship the chair or pay under the table or whatever to get things done. This is ridiculous. I don't want to say they are short of staff maybe they are or not. IF you don't need your equipment repaired in a timely manner you should probably go with someone else The positive whenever you get in there they will fix it. And just take forever after multiple cancellations. read more

Zero stars. My husband received a motorized wheelchair in February. Three months ago both motors started to malfunction. Nobody is returning our calls. Initially they fluctuated between"We need to bill insurance" and "It's covered under warranty" read more

We have been with National Seating and mobility for over 31 years. I have a special needs daughter who is 37 years old and has a motorized wheelchair. It gives her such independence. Jim Perez is phenomenal and has helped with fitting Haley to multiple wheelchair's. Ordering a chair takes long but that's because of the insurance companies. Staff at the place in Countryside is super nice and friendly. The technician we usually have is Greg. He treats every client as if they were family. I hope he never retires! I have nothing but good things to say about this company. Thank you National Seating and Mobility! Haley and I are glad you've been there for all these years! read more

No customer service whatsoever. Since Lynn Ferguson left, Jim Perez is trying to deliver my daughter's custom molded cushions which came in wrong. At this since August. Now they told him 4-6 weeks more. Jim is doing his best. No one else there cares. I have no contact information except for Countryside's general number which sends you to a centralized call center since last April. They have a basic monopoly in the industry. Horrible because you are at their mercy and they are privately owned. And I just spoke with Nicole because Michelle was doing inventory and Nicole hung up on me when so suggested I go elsewhere. I said you are a monopoly-don't you know that? So professional and ignorant. read more

I purchased a power chair custom made. That process was fine. However a year later when it had issues starts a drawn out horrible process. 4+ months of the most unorganized mess I have ever experienced. Can't get a straight answer from anyone. The service techs don't show up on their 4 week out appointment. Then When they do show up 8 weeks later and say they will have parts quote the next day. Nothing 4 weeks past that day and Soo many calls with payments made and a different answer depending on who answers and nobody calls back when they say they will. Disastrous read more

My son is 29 yo w dx of Quadriplegic Spastic CP. We have repeatedly tried to get his power wheelchair fixed due to incorrect molding. THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT HIS CONDITION OR HEALTH!!! 6 months trying and the tech was very unprofessional and rude. My son had scoliosis surgery and his back is starting to twist. The seat belt is in the wrong position, the back mold was not done correctly. I would not recommend using this company unless you don't care about your loved one. read more

National Seating & Mobility - Terrible service!!! - Mobility Equipment Sales & Services Near Me - Countryside, Illinois

Absolute nightmare to deal with. It's probably easier to contact and get a response from the President of the United States or a celebrity than it is to get a response from National Seating and Mobility. We have been trying to contact them to fix my brother's wheelchair for TWO YEARS: constant phone calls and emails to the branch manager and other staff members, only to be met with radio silence most of the time. The meager attempts they made to get back to us failed, as they kept canceling the appointments that they made with us and did not respond to our requests to reschedule them. The Medicaid waiver that we had to fix the wheelchair with them expired due to this company's incompetence and lack of empathy, leaving us with a broken wheelchair, the only way that my brother can leave his home. Avoid this company at all costs. read more

buyer beware worst customer service in the world! do not do business @ national seating and mobility!!

I went in with a prescription from my doctor for a wheelchair and was told they only help those who actually need a wheelchair and can't walk read more

Absolutely abysmal service. It took an incredible five months to get my spouse's wheelchair repaired. First we had to wait six weeks for them to come out and assess the problem. The tech told us it would take six weeks to replace the motor and we should wait to hear from them. After seven weeks, we called to ask about the status. They hadn't even put the order in! It took another eleven weeks to get the part made and installed. The techs are kind people doing their best, but it's clear the office and administration are total chaos. It's a truly shameful way to treat customers who rely on them for their mobility. read more

This is the absolute worst company ever known. They have no idea how to fix and/or build a wheelchair. They are incredibly abusive and abrasive. The management is incredibly abusive. I had a technician out to my house about dozen times to fix a chair and each time, he made it worse. They gave me a really bad loaner and took it away, but only because they were contracted to build a new one. It was clear they had no idea how to repair a chair and my worst fear was that my new chair would be a nightmare. This fear came true, and I am stuck with a chair that I can't use. I know that disabled people have few choices in where to find a wheelchair, but I can tell you for sure, you will do better on eBay or marketplace than with this company. Find yourself an independent guy who knows how to repair Permobile chairs because what they are doing to people is a sin. They are also screwing insurance companies and Medicare big-time. Here's a video of the two managers Michele and Matt trying to prove that a broken chair is actually not broken. If he would've sat in it, he would've realized when he reclined that about 2/3 of the way back would stop and the feet would keep going and it would crush his body, but he couldn't be bothered with actually testing the chair out. He kept making the repair man return it while it was still broken. This place is a joke and needs to be put out of business. https://youtu.be/LAoYCn7CjzI?si=FWVFvYq04b3WAAS4 read more

They are the worse to have service with when it comes to a medical equipment you need for everyday activity. Everyone that calls you have something different to say. I have had two wheel chair with them and from the start of getting one for the first time let me tell you they ordered the wrong one. To do evaluation on wheelchair was a nightmare let's just say I had started the process in November had to go to office when supposedly was ready in March as soon as I saw it the wheelchair was not completed now I will probably have my daughter that needs her wheelchair wait another 4 months or more. I would definitely recommend go somewhere else !!! read more

Thank you to the Chicago- Lombard branch of national seating and mobility. Specifically Michelle Bristow, Chuck and Tim. Over the last two months I have had what I would consider a significant issue with the inner workings of my power chair. While I was persistent in making sure that the repair staff knew the exact issue I was experiencing, when they brought it back recently and it didn't feel right end they took it back no questions asked and are working to resolve the issue. I am the owner of a Permobil F3 that is about two years old. Needless to say I am very frustrated that this early in the chairs life there's an issue. Michelle and Chuck have taken great care of me and made sure that I felt heard and the issue was getting resolved. Tim was very kind when he was out at my home and understood that I was not going to sign when the chair did not feel right upon repair delivery. All of my dealings with staff from Chicago formerly (Lombard location )Have been Outstanding. I know that when my chair comes back it will be like new. Thank you Michelle and Nsm staff!! read more

I have been with national seating and mobility for 18 years and this by far has been the best experience I have ever had when getting a new chair. It started from the beginning when I met with Dennis at Marionjoy. He was a huge help and didnt try to push anything on me that I didnt want or need. He asked me my needs and he accommodated me as much as he possibly could. He Is honestly the best sales person that I have come Into contact with in the 18 years of dealing with NSM and having to get new wheelchairs. I had some Insurance Issues after I had my chair picked out and the operations manager Michelle was nothing short of amazing. She was absolutely wonderful In helping me obtain my chair. I called her and she took care of the authorization very quickly. Before I was able to get my chair I was out of town and my old chair that I already had broke down and need to be fixed. I called Michelle and she came to the rescue. She called the closest NSM to where I was at and helped me get my chair fixed. Without Michelle I wouldnt have known what to do In the new area that I was In. I was only there for a few months and luckily there was a NSM close by and Michelle was able to help. Recently I was in an accident and my old chair was destroyed and I called Michelle and explained the situation I paid the money I owed for my new chair but there was a long wait for someone to come out to my house to deliever my chair. Michelle came up with a solution. There is an NSM employee that doesnt live too far from my home and the next day from when I spoke with Michelle my chair was dropped off while the NSM employee was on his way to work. I can not thank Michelle enough for all of her help through out this process. Before my dealings with Michelle I was losing faith in NSM but because of her it has been restored. She is awesome at her job and I think she is one of the best most caring people that I have ever dealt with at NSM. Thank you Michelle. You are awesome. read more
