WHOA! that was a really long time ago and for it to have remained in my brain that long it must be a great place. There were no chains so you really got to know your local pharmacist. My experiences with Mr. Pepper in the 60s , 70s and early 80s were very good ones. Back in the 60's when your child walked everywhere it was common to send your 8 year old child to pick up prescriptions, greeting cards, pain relievers Bandages ( We had 10 kids) and various sundries. Also, we i suspect a few times our family account might've been in slight arrears in those days but the beauty of this being a true mom and pop was that things were always resolved in a friendly, neighborly way. Fast forward to the 90s and 2000s and I'm not sure if it's still totally in the Pepper family still but my interactions with them as an adult have been pleasant and efficient. Just the other day an elderly friend of mine got turned away from a chain when she showed up for an appointment for her booster because they were overbooked. I got her in the car and I drove her to Pepper's because Pepper's is in her neighborhood. They were kind, caring, respectful toward her and happy to have her business. Try getting that at a Chain. Over a half century after my first experience with Pepper Pharmacy I continue to see That's its still a vital part of the Lansdowne and Upper Darby communities. Here's hoping it stays that way for many years to come.

And they work with your insurance AND will call your doctor to get prescriptions AND deliver to your home or office. And they can do consultations. And I can get the big ticket medical supplies there (like walkers, canes, crutches, etc.) covered through medicare. It's a one stop shop for everything I need. And BTW there's gas station / convenience store right next to them. And the Market St. & 63rd St. metro stop half a block away.

We were told that if you wanted to transfer a prescription that it would be very easy for him to help you with. All he needs to do is call the pharmacy and tell them that you are going to switch, or you can call yourself. They have Immunizations and free delivery on your prescriptions. They speak multiple languages such as English, Korean, Punjabi, Hindi, and Spanish. Wow, isn't that amazing. In addition, they sell some paper products, over the counter supplements, and hygiene products. The store was clean inside and out front.

I went to this CVS on September 8 expecting both the store and the pharmacy to be open 24 hours a…read moreday, because that is how things have been for a long time. And I see that Yelp still lists this store as being open 24/7. Unfortunately, they recently changed their hours. The pharmacy now closes at 10 pm, and the store closes at midnight. The cashier at the front of the store told me this change is because of retail theft that they had experienced in the overnight hours. Still, this closing time is quite late compared to other stores. It is a nice option to keep in mind if you need to buy something at night. I arrived at the pharmacy about ten minutes before they closed and requested a prescription refill. Ismean made sure my prescription was filled before closing. Alex found a couple of items in the store for me that I needed. They helped me get in and out of the store in ten minutes. I will miss this store being open 24/7, but I am pleased they are still open later than the other close options.

All the reviews and most if not all are very very bad. Nothing is ever in stock. The staff is beyond incompetent. The pharmacist (woman) is nice and will answer your questions. However the younger pharmacy staff are not that bright. They know nothing about insurances and will charge you out of pocket before they run your insurance. Pure laziness. I get a text saying medication is available and ready, only to make the trip to find out it's not! Take heed here, we see what has happened to Rite Aide. Myself and a few friends have since switched our prescriptions to Amazon pharmacy and it's been amazing! Meds always available and insurance is always ran FIRST. We dont have to travel anywhere meds are delivered right to our door. This CVS location here is making all others look like trash. They've already lost 6 customers to amazon and more is coming I guarantee you!!

I have tried to get my medication transferred out but they will not pick up the phone for other pharmacies either. This means that I am going without my medication. I hope that people understand the justification for this one star review. At first I thought they would be a nice change up from the big corporate pharmacies but they have declined significantly. So then I found 2 appointments for last night at this rite aid which I have never been to. It was easy to schedule, and then easy to find the store. It has a huge parking lot - def a plus. We walk into the store and there were so many people in the pharmacy line. The line looped thru the store - and we got at the end behind about 20 other people. It was crazy. And then we waited and waited to reach the front. And as we waited - I could not believe how many people were rude to the pharmacists. Just people cursing them out. I have never seen anything like it (well except at my job but I didn't know this behavior was tolerated anywhere else). We finally reach the front and were told to sit and wait to receive our shots. They did not have them ready so we had to wait a long time. In their defense - the workers were def over worked and the store was understaffed. Anyway, the very kind pharmacist comes out and was very helpful for me and gets me my shot. He couldn't locate my boyfriend's insurance in his system bc somehow he didn't have access to that network's data base. Which it is one of the biggest pharmacy insurance groups so I'm not sure why - but he said sometimes Rite Aid's system has problems w this. ugh. So bf didn't get his shot. After 75 min of waiting we finally left w one out of 2 shots we scheduled. (and if you are wondering - we were polite the whole time - no rudeness and no cursing lol). Also, the floor of Rite Aid looked like it have never been swept or mopped. It was so disgusting. And there were flies everywhere inside.
