There was only one call I needed to make. Lucky was out asap and knew exactly what needed to be done. He gave me my options and I filed a claim with my insurance company. He even helped me interface with the insurance company, because we all know how saying one wrong word can void coverage, or at least that's how it feels sometimes. I really didn't have to figure anything out on my own. Lucky took care of everything. New roof, new fascia, new paint, new gutters, every aspect of the deal was handled with communication, respect, and honesty. I really can't say enough awesome things about Lucky and his company. They are very knowledgeable and resourceful. Thanks y'all!

About a year after that we found exposed nails in there and decided to get independent roof inspection. Garret looked at it, and that was not just look. Roof inspection he did was much longer then inspection from original company and much more thorough and detailed. There not just nails exposed, but improper flashing sealing, missing valleys flashing, silicon improperly applied to the bottom on a valley, etc. Garret prepared comprehensive report, reviewed our contract with original company pointing what was done incorrectly and even advised how to proceed further as we still have warranty from original company. Also want to note that inspection and advice were given free of charge. Definitely if we had known about GK HOMES AND ROOFING earlier we would use it instead. I would recommend Garett Kates and GK HOMES AND ROOFING to everyone and feel confident they would be taken care of. If you're into the personal service and general flexibility of family-run shop, Terry and Lynn are available by phone or text at all times and will try their best to meet any request you have of them. And if you're into the professionalism and polish of a big corporation, All-Star Roofing has that too--from the folder-bound quote packet that comes with every estimate and explains everything from the company's background to the week's weather forecast, to the wide selection of products and services and the quality of work. Like every company, there were a few hiccups. They forgot some wire mesh on a small rodent-intrusion repair we did a few months back, and didn't get back out to add it for several weeks. And when we replaced the roof last month, they were a bit late on the first day of work and forgot to alert me. BUT, the thing that makes All Star different from so many other companies is their insistence on apologizing (sincerely), promising to do better, and fixing the problem. Customer service is a serious concern for them. Oh, and did I mention they are a great value? Terry drastically outbid two other companies for the roof replacement last month, and offered a better warranty. We've moved to Dallas, but if they'll make the trip up, we'll definitely be calling Terry about our next roof.

The amount of prep work needed to get a quality and trouble free hardwood, or even engineered wood floor takes more knowledge and skill than one would think. It's more than just the installation. My wife and I have installed several floating engineered wood floors over the years and decided to do this one as well. But we have never glued flooring before. We hired Sam to come and do a moisture reading so we could determine the proper glue to use. While he was setting it up I asked a few questions which quickly turned into an education I could have not gotten anywhere else. We quickly realized how much more prep we needed to do. When the prep work was over, Sam, who out of the kindness of his heart, came to help us get the first few rows installed on his day off! He taught us troweling techniques, talked to us about layout and gave us tips that only an experienced installer would know. Sam spent several hours of his own time and asked nothing in return. You can tell he takes great pride in his craft and really want's people to enjoy what they purchase. I wish more craftsmen approached their jobs with the integrity, pride and skill that Sam brought to us. He told us he has been doing this for 20 years and shows! I will never call anyone else about flooring and only refer business to Sam. Thank you Sam!

Thank goodness I caught it before I left because I usually just walk out after starting a load I tried to clean it up only to realize there is no way I am going to be able to get this all up without spending hours and hours and I needed to get my son to school and me to work. I immediately called SCProservices and after speaking with me was able to squeeze me in quick before some other appointments because of the size. Showed up, sucked that stuff right up, left fans, etc. etc. Came back and put my carpeting back together PLUS shampooed my carpeting. Wham bam thank you maam. Couldn't have been any easier and my carpets smell awesome, ha ha. Oh, and I am a single momma and he was not creepy at all. I understand this sounds weird but let's face it, no woman (or man) wants a creeper all up in their apartment/home if it is just them there. He's cool.
