I had heard good things about Eric and Horizon Construction so I asked him to come and provide a bid. He arrived on time (actually a few minutes early) and got right to work! He inspected the roof and not only gave us a bid, but valuable information on what to put in the contract in case the seller went with a different contractor. Eric is extremely knowledgable and glad to share his knowledge, in his quiet and unassuming manner. Unfortunately, the seller of the house opted for a contractor he has used in the past. When the roof was on, we had Eric come inspect it and he found some issues with the job done by the other contractor (things like rotten plywood under new shingles, cheap seals that only last 5-8 years in the TX sun, old and frozen vents that weren't removed that will allow rain into the attic, etc). He worked up a full report for us showing the problems and saved us a lot of money in the process. He's very focused on providing quality work and being fair and reasonable in his pricing. From our interactions, I can tell he loves what he does and has a passion for it - something that makes him great at it! I trust Eric and his company and wouldn't hesitate to send my friends and family to him.

The sales guy was non-responsive. Fast forward a year and we had a couple spots leaking (metal roof). I looked up the number and called, no response. Called another number, no response. Kept calling, nothing. Now at about 2 years, still no response and what was a very small leak is a little worse. I was able to find Austin Beers number in all of my information, so I called him. Surprise, no answer. Left a message, he never called back.

They came out to inspect my roof within two hours, on a weekend. The quote was reasonable and the owner and a crew member fixed my missing shingles in under 30 minutes. Fast and competent, and the owner was friendly enough to chat with me for a few minutes, even though his wife had told me earlier they were extremely busy doing estimates and on the spot repairs all day. I would definitely call them again should I need another roof repair in the future.

Other companies told me to have the shingles replaced even though I only had damage on less than 1/4 of my roof. I don't believe in getting a new roof unless absolutely necessary. We hired him…read morefor a backyard patio project, and he has taken $29,136.24 of our money and left the job nearly a quarter completed. It has been over 4 months, and the work remains unfinished. Worse yet, our backyard is now a mess of dirt, dry leaves, and cut greenery, creating a serious fire hazard. John has continuously given excuses for why he can't complete the job. At one point, he claimed a family emergency, and at another, he said his worker was taken away by ICE. Now, he has completely stopped responding to us, leaving our project abandoned and our property in a dangerous condition. I would not trust John or his company with any work. It's clear he is not reliable, and based on our experience, I strongly recommend that you do not hire him. He has shown himself to be untrustworthy and irresponsible, leaving us with an incomplete project and a mess to clean up. Save yourself the frustration and look elsewhere.
