I was sent to Dr. Diacono for my mastectomy and delayed DIEP. He is a nice man, but his staff doesn't have training in interacting with breast cancer patients because they were not compassionate or interested in teaching post op care. I was never entitled to a decent surgery timeframe because of the dr's busy schedule. I don't think it's the dr's fault. He is sought-after, and his team probably didn't inform him that I was not given the same timeframe as other cancer patients. When I told the dr what size I wanted to be, he told me that's not up to me because of the smaller stomach size. That's fair, except he never gave me the option of doing flaps from my thighs (because they are bigger than my stomach was), so now I am stuck with small, lopsided breasts. I'm left with an A cup, and they don't fit my frame well. I look like a boy. The scars are hideous and very thick. The outline of the raised scars can be seen through thick shirts. This can all be fixed at the revision, except the packed surgery schedule doesn't allow them to schedule me for a revision, so I'm stuck and have to find a new PS. I was a nice patient to the dr and his team. I showed up on time, was respectful, and always demonstrated my gratefulness. But to no avail. His team even wanted to cancel the pre-op DIEP meeting. They wanted me to meet with his nurse instead, who was not going to be in the operating room; I insisted on a pre op with the dr. His team often cancelled or rescheduled because of other surgeries he was pulled into. I can understand that and never minded. But wouldn't I eventually be allowed to also have priority as an existing patient? When we were doing the pictures, the assistant didn't lock the door, and another staff member attempted to come in. It was humiliating. Being a breast cancer patient is a humiliating experience because everyone keeps touching you, looking at you, and forcing you to be weighed every week. I was hoping the plastic experience would be nicer and more respectful. When I told the dr I wanted to keep my nipples (the cancer surgeon was ok with that), he said no because my breasts were too large. I didn't know that it is possible to keep nipples even with large breasts. My breasts became large because I gained weight from neoadjuvant chemo. I was not normally this large, so I feel like I am being punished for doing chemo first, which I had no control over. But I found out that to keep nipples, you just have to do a reduction first before the mastectomy, but options were never offered to me, probably because Dr. Diacono is very busy and didn't have time to give me options. I didn't know about something called "Resensation". After my DIEP, I left two messages for him asking whether we could still do resensation in the revision, but no one ever got back to me with an answer. I truly believe it's because he never received the messages. I made an appointment with him post DIEP surgery (I learned from the official Resensation folks that this procedure can be done without nipples), but was given a PA instead, who was condescending towards me. No one ever once taught me about scars or post op management after the mastectomy and DIEP. And when I asked for post op help, I was given conflicting information: different people told me different things, and none of those things were helpful. I had to use the internet and literature from other PS offices to figure things out. It's been scary and stressful, and I've never felt more alone. When I asked at the post-op meeting (the only time I was allowed to meet with the dr post DIEP) whether we could schedule the revision, he said that he wanted to wait, and I have a year to do a revision. I explained that I don't have a year because I am departing the area (plus I don't want to spend one year with these hideous scars and asymmetrical breasts) and begged to schedule something for 3 months out, but my pleas fell on deaf ears. I think he is a sought-after surgeon, and as a quiet and unassuming breast cancer patient, I'm probably not a priority for the surgical calendar. Now I wonder whether the cancer center forced him to take me on. He was always rushed in our meetings and seemed overbooked. I am not writing this to deter you. I am writing to be helpful to fellow breast cancer patients who are going through this alone. My advice is to always have an ally with you in meetings who can speak up if your wishes are disregarded. I think if you have an ally with you, you'll get what you want and will have a better experience. Plastic surgeons have a million breast cancer patients, and only the loudest people in the room get what they want. Unfortunately, I am the quietest person in the room, and I fell through the cracks with his team, which has been devastating for me. Good luck and best wishes for your recovery. read more

If you are a first time cancer patient, I would not recommend this practice. First off you will wait at least 30 minutes prior to your appointment...every time! The doctor will do the surgery, but all your care after the surgery will be treated by a physician's assistant not the doctor. Any medical decisions will be made by the physicians assistant. If you're a first time cancer, patient you need the doctors confirmation and advice throughout your reconstructive process. This practice only has physicians assistance helping you throughout the reconstructive process. I did not get a good sense of good care throughout my time with this practice. It's not to say that the physician assistant wasn't nice. They were lovely people. But that's not what I'm looking for when going through such a major procedure. read more

Dr. Nahabedian did my double mastectomy and my DIEP-flap reconstruction surgery. After first mastectomy, we had been trying to save the nipple, but on the morning of the DIEP-flap surgery, Dr. Nahabedian didn't like what he saw and recommended removing it. I consented. This was my second breast cancer diagnosis, so I was very grateful for Dr. Nahabedian's recommendation, as breast cancer was found in the nipple. Dr. Nahabedian is a wonderful doctor with a gentle bedside manner, and has a great relationship with my breast surgeon, Dr. Costanza Cocilovo. read more

Avoid Dr. Venturi at all costs! He did my diep last year and 2 revisions this year. The diep went as good as can be expected but he failed to mention a few pretty important things even though I specifically asked him to give me a detailed description of what he would be doing. Revision #1...leading up to this surgery I was very clear what I wanted fixed (same thing in both breasts). I wake up from surgery and only the R breast is fixed! Revision #2...he was supposed to fix 2 things on the L breast only. Woke up and again, WTF!! He only fixed 1 thing but not the main thing I had been asking for since before revision #1!! He also did something to my abdominal incision which we never discussed. This 2nd surgery was completely unnecessary bc he could've/should've done both breasts in the 1st surgery. He would also contradict himself during the few appointments I actually saw him. For example, in one appointment he would say he couldn't fix something but then at a later appointment he would say he can fix it. This happened several times. I can no longer trust him and now have to find another plastic surgeon to correct the issues he left behind. As if going through breast cancer and losing my breasts isn't traumatic enough now I have to go through the process of finding another surgeon and having another surgery that could've been avoided. Also, at my last appointment I was told the office manager would contact me regarding how this situation can be rectified but despite my follow ups, nobody has reached out to me. read more

Went with my spouse for a consultation after her double mastectomy. After a 45-minute wait the desk announced to a full waiting room that spouses would not be allowed in - not mentioned during the 45-minute wait. Then we overheard the desk tell an arriving patient that there was at least an hour delay! Nothing had been mentioned during our wait, no apologies, no explanations. We'd had enough so we left. Delays are understandable but ignoring people and letting them wait with no explanation is not. From other reviews, ours was not an isolated experience. Maybe the doctors are great but our impression is they have contempt for their patients. Not a good option for fragile people needing reconstruction surgery. The group's web site shows ALL their reviews were 5s (100%). That is very hard to believe... so what can you believe? read more

Dr. Venturi did an amazing job on my delayed DIEP flap. I could not be happier with the results. He recommended staging my surgery and was there for my bilateral mastectomy (done by Dr. Maureen O'Donnell) - and the results looked great even with expanders in. Three months later he performed the DIEP flap and now I have a flat belly (amazing after three kids!) and very natural looking breasts. You can't even see the scars under my breast and my stomach scar is thin, straight and pretty low. My gyn and the nurses at the hospital (INOVa Fairfax) all commented (after seeing me undressed) that this is one of the best jobs they've ever seen. I should also mention that Dr. Mesbahi assisted with my surgery - the doctors in this practice work together so the surgery takes less time and you're under general anesthesia for a shorter time - another reason I chose Dr. Venturi. Getting my cancer diagnosis was truly awful but thanks to Dr. Venturi I feel like myself again - and frankly look better in clothes than I did before! I knew implants weren't right for me - my new breasts are made of my own tissue and feel warm and natural to the touch. Dr. Mesbahi was incredible! I had a surgery date for a double mastectomy two weeks after my breast cancer diagnosis, and him and his staff were extremely accommodating. I was under his care for almost a year and he made a very challenging time much easier for me and my family. Dr. Mesbahi was compassionate, clear, and very helpful during all of my visits. I was always very comfortable with him and he has great bed-side manner. Dr. Mesbahi is very kind, respectful, and was always attentive to my needs. He patiently walked me through everything, was always very honest, and answered all of my questions and more throughout the entire process. I had a wonderful experience with everyone in the office. Dr. Mesbahi, his PA Louisa, and his entire office staff were professional, welcoming, and extremely helpful from day one. Andrea at the front desk always had such pleasant and uplifting attitude and Debbie was extremely helpful during my first visit when I was in the process of choosing a plastic surgeon for my breast reconstruction. I am truly happy with my beautiful results! Dr. Mesbahi is a very highly-skilled surgeon and great at what he does. I would recommend him to anyone! I do not recommend Dr. Ali-Reza Nouri-Mesbahi (AKA Dr. Alex Mesbahi / Dr. Ali Mesbahi) of "National Center for Plastic Surgery" for a DIEP Flap Breast Reconstruction. NCPS is located at 7601 Lewinsville Road, Suite 400 in McLean, VA 22102 and the phone number is (703) 287-8277. The "Immediate DIEP Flap Breast Reconstruction" surgery performed by Dr. Mesbahi on February 12, 2019 was poorly done. It left me with bilateral bulges of tissue that extended from my armpits to the bottom of my breasts, which I did not have prior to the procedure. It felt uncomfortably abnormal as if I were carrying "one little pillow" under each armpit at all times. Additionally, it left me with "Frankenstein" stitches on my abdomen sitting too high (3 inches below my navel) and two small "dog ears" on each side of the suture line. When I mentioned the problems to Dr. Mesbahi, all I got was a "blank stare." Neither sympathy nor an apology was extended. Later, my Radiation Oncologist informed me I had to "close the gaps" in the suture line under my left breast before proceeding with my vitally necessary RADIATION TREATMENTS. As a result, on March 21, 2019, I had to go back to the office to get 6 more stitches put under my left breast because clearly the suturing was not done correctly during the DIEP Flap Reconstruction surgery on February 12, 2019. On March 28th, Louisa (Dr. Mesbahi's Physician Assistant) removed 3 stitches from under my left breast, and on April 1st the last 3 stitches were removed by Gretchen (Dr. Mesbahi's Physician Assistant). I was "free" to start my radiation program after April 1st as opposed to February 21st (when my last 3 drains were removed). The difference between April 1st and February 21st is a 40-day delay in the start of my radiation program. All in all, the results of my "Immediate DIEP Flap Breast Reconstruction" left my breasts not only asymmetrical, but unsmooth, hollow in some areas, and overall, inconsistent to the touch. The contour was horrendous, to say the least. The "look and feel" problems I experienced with my breasts occurred PRIOR to the radiation treatments. I was extremely disappointed with THE FINAL RESULTS of my "Immediate DIEP Flap Breast Reconstruction" done by Dr. Mesbahi. Therefore, I DO NOT recommend him to anyone! read more

I just came back from a TCA peel with Sandra at the Medi-Easthetique and cannot tell you how impressed I am with her! I left the office feeling confident, sexy, and an overall diva. I'm on my way to being the perfect little barbie. Sandra, the Master Esthetician, is absolutely fabulous and very knowledgeable about the procedures and products. As a former pharmaceutical rep in France, she seems to know her way about every product from Image to Obagi. And best of all, she doesn't try to pressure you into buying anything. You just end up buying everything because it's clear that this broad knows her shit. And you know she knows her shit because she's smoking hot. Her skin is flawless and she's the epitome of perfection. How could you not trust her?! The office staff was extremely professional and helpful as well. As a plastic surgery addict, I've been to many doctor's offices. It seems that in the plastic industry many hire really ignorant females to work the front desk. Not here. Everyone appeared neat, had manners, and were efficient in their duties signing me in. In fact, I'm excited to go back for a Juvederm trial in the future. I mean, if Sandra is great, I bet the doctors here will be, too. Stay tuned for a review update when that happens. I do know they charge $14/Unit for Botox and $500 a syringe for Juvederm but often hold special events for a discount. Also, the TCA peel was $300. After being a laser hair removal client for over a year, I've finally had it. The wait is always long - even when I make a point of being the first client of the day. Today was the last straw. After waiting 15-20 minutes, I asked how much longer...only to be told that Sandra hadn't even arrived! No apology, just asked if I wanted to reschedule. When I suggested it might have been helpful to be told sooner, the response was, "Well, I didn't know." I don't know whose job it is to know - but it's no longer my problem. I'm finished. I recently got a rhinoplasty with Dr. Mesbahi and I was very impressed with his work and that of his office staff. The staff (nurses, PA's, patient coordinators, front desk) was not only professional but went above and beyond at each appointment. My nose looks exactly as I had discussed with Dr.Mesbahi. His care and attention has extended beyond the surgery with follow-ups to ensure the desired results. I was most impressed with how easy the process was- the day of surgery was quick and comfortable. Dr. Mark Venturi is the BEST! He performed my DIEP Flap and Double Mastectomy about a month ago and I could not be more pleased with the results. My surgery was definitely challenging as he encountered a lot of scar tissue in the abdominal area and Dr. V. did not hesitate to spend the extra time to make sure it was a success. I initially went for a peel. I'd never had one before, so I didn't know what to expect. I had some active acne and some legions that wouldn't heal no matter what I did or what products I bought. By the time I left, my skin had already begun to heal!! Sandra is AMAZING! And she didn't try to sell me anything! I had to ask! And even then, she only recommended two products knowing that after I saw what she did in less than an hour, I would have bought ANYTHING she was selling!! I've been wanting to do this for years! Getting permanently cleaned up and not worry about daily shaving is becoming a reality. I had my first session with Sandra, who is hilarious and sweet. I have seen Dr Vargas/ Dr Venturi for bilateral mastectomy and reconstruction. This experience can be a rollercoaster of emotion and self analysis. These offices were consummate professionals with amazing results.Yes , we all need tweaking which is true with everyone. Dr Venturi's staff was wonderful supportive and answered all my questions. My sisters also had the same surgery by different physicians and the results were not what they expected. I highly recommend this practice especially given I have my nipples and look perky as well. Sandra is amazeballs. I am a beauty junkie and regularly get facials, peels, microderms, etc. at various places (pretty much wherever there is a Groupon), and I have to say, Sandra is the best. I am a new patient and so far very impressed. Dr Barlow is a master w Botox. It was perfectly injected. I am going back in two weeks for laser skin therapy with Sandra. She and Dr Barlow both spent a great deal of time with me and I did not feel like they were trying to oversell me. I chose Dr. Mesbahi after interviewing several surgeons about revising my reconstruction from breast cancer surgery. Both my shaped implants had rotated after less than a year from my initial surgery, which left me feeling unconfident and continually sad about what I had lost due to cancer. Dr. Mesbahi's staff were very attentive and sensitive to breast cancer patients. He was direct and clear about expectations every time I met with him. He and his staff were patient and responsive to all my questions. Dr. Mesbahi cares about breast cancer patients, and it shows in the results. When I was diagnosed in 2013, I got myself through the treatment process by holding onto a vision of myself as a better, mentally stronger, more confident, and physically stronger person than I was before the diagnosis. Very disappointed with my experience. Don't let the nice office fool you. I'm one of Dr. Mesbahi's patient. October they called me to sched my surgery for December and it would take 4wks for recovery. So I took FMLA (Dr.Mesbahi's office charge payment just to sign it), applied for short t. dissability, applied off from my 2 jobs, and my mom took off from her job in CA just to fly here and assist me. 1 week before the surgery they called me and told me it was cancelled. (This is not the first time btw that they cancelled an aptmt.) They just said I havent seen my oncologist and I told them I already have an appointment with them before the surgery and all Christine said coldly, "No, its cancelled". I talked with Dr. Denduluri my oncologist and she was surprised too and said she didn't have a say in it. Also gave me a letter for Mesbahi's office. I just survived Cancer and hoping to get all this behind me but this group have no care for the patient and very unprofessional.. Spending my christmas depressed because of all the mess it did. read more

Dr Venturi is amazing! I am a breast cancer survivor and gymrat. I had a bilateral mastectomy with expanders and two implant revisions and my reconstruction has been amazing. I was so scared when I was diagnosed and my final outcome. His staff have made me feel so special and listened to my needs. I wanted to get back in the gym and be able to continue my intense workouts. Dr Venturi said I would be back doing pushups, pull-ups and lifting weights and he was right. He's a great doctor and the staff has been excellent as well. He performed the newer over the muscle technique. The recovery and pain have been minimal compared to most and I am almost back to my pre surgery strength! Cancer didn't win!!! read more

I decided to go to the National Center for Plastic Surgery in Mclean for lip Injections because I know a few people that have gotten their boobs done there and looked great. I went in to get lip injections twice and after the second time I realized the whole thing was a scam. First of all.. he only did my upper lip so I looked like a psycho and he used the type of Juvederm that literally just disappeared after I spent about a month looking like a duck. So basically I am pissed I spent over a 1000 dollars and now I have been fixed by an actual amazing professional who knows what they are doing. Such a waste of money I cannot warn you enough to not go here for lip injections. All they want is to turn people out and take their money they don't care. This man barely looked at my face or listened to me before he started injecting. But now my lips look Effing amazing so I recommend injections when done right! read more

I really like Sandra. She is an amazing esthetician and has really helped me with my skin. She is very sweet and has perfect skin too. I only give this place three stars because I can not get over how rude the receptionist Ashley is. I have been going here for a few years and she has been consistently rude. She seems like she is always annoyed if you ask a question or call for help. When I am paying $200 - $300 to see Sandra and then buying products on top of that, it would be nice if the staff at the front desk were a little more courteous. read more

Dr Meshabi filled my tear troughs as part of a special he was running He overloaded the site and to this day a few years later I have eye bags from the treatment. When showed my eyes a few months after the treatment Dr Meshabi said I needed eye surgery to remove the bags and he would be happy to do it - at a cost of around 5000.00. I have read where this treatment requires a less is more approach and a precise touch. My eyes are still an embarrassment. read more

I had been dealing with an unattrative face that dermatologist just could not clear. After being too depressed, the light finally came on to have plastic surgery and I called this place because I googled- "plastic surgeon". I made an appointment with Ashley (she's great too) with Dr. Alex Mesbahi, MD . He saw me and didn't recommend it and I was truly dishearted because I want a clear face. He had Sandra see me and she is amazing. The product that she gave me worked wonders over night even. I called her the next morning and thanked her so much because even though I am not totally clear, you can see a tremendous difference plus know that its going in that direction.
