I don't know where to start. My son and I came to Denver from Dallas and Houston Tx to catch a concert at RedRocks last night. We decided to stop in here and boy o boy are we glad that we did! Listen, this museum is small and the owner, Bruce, is a really cool dude who collects baseball memorabilia! And further, he puts it on display for people like us who just love the game of baseball. Folks...Talking with this guy is a treat! It's as if the true spirit of baseball has embodied itself into this man's core. He just lives and breathes baseball. And it's refreshing! Bruce displays his memorabilia and shares his memories of the game with his guests in such an amazing way. He knows a lot! I can say this...If you love baseball, then you WILL love this museum. That is a guarantee. My son and I got to spend close to three hours going through his museum and sharing stories with Bruce. What a cosmic blast this was! As Bruce might say this, for us, has been "A blessing from the baseball Gods" indeed! While we're not in Denver for long the visit here is officially seeded into my memory bank for sure. Loved this place. You will too! In health and happiness! Cheers! read more

This is a five star visit. Museum is essentially across the street from Coors Field. I arrived around 11AM on a Thursday and was the only person there. I spent 5-10 minutes at first talking with a person at the door about baseball and then met Bruce (owner) towards the end of my visit. He's a wealth of baseball knowledge and a joy to talk to. Lots of unique artifacts from vintage ballparks and teams. It's well worth the $20.00 cash entry to spend some time here. I highly recommend. read more

My fiancée and I stopped in here on our last day in Colorado. Being a lifelong fan of baseball, my fiancée was excited to browse the memorabilia of the old stadiums that built baseball. What we couldn't have expected was getting the most amazing tour of the space by owner and curator, Bruce. Bruce had a story for every piece in the exhibit, all told with charm, wit, and a true touch of baseball magic. His passion and admiration makes it hard not to believe in that magic. In the over two hours we spent in the space, we both learned so much about the players and parks, but we also learned about Bruce and his story. He made every guest feel like they were a part of the family, asking them about their life and quizzing them on baseball trivia. It was truly an experience I will never forget. Go for the baseball, it is an amazing museum, but stay for Bruce and all the amazing people you'll meet along the way. read more

Bruce is wonderful!! Come check out these pictures, memorabilia, and historical literal pieces of the incredible ballparks that are no more. Bruce personally collected all of these, he shared stories and tales from back in the day baseball and being here just felt magical. I should have checked Yelp before wasting my money. I am in Denver on a very long layover. I left the airport and paid $58.00 for a Lyft to travel to this museum. I'm a huge baseball fan and was excited to check it out. When I arrived at 2:00 PM after sitting in almost one hour of traffic, I was shocked to discover this place was closed. Google said this place is open until 5:00 PM on Fridays. I called the number at the door and left a message. Nobody ever returned my call. Anyway, I had to spend another $54.00 to get back to the airport because I missed the Amtrak waiting outside this museum like an idiot. I also lost money on the Groupon ticket since I won't return to Denver anytime soon. Waste of money and time. read more

What a fun place to visit before a Rockies game. Bruce has so much fun memorabilia to look at.

This little spot was just opening as we walked up, wow absolutely AMAZING! Bruce basically took us on a few hour tour and made us feel like family. If you are in the Denver area please go in and support this business. The time we spent there was so great and we learned so much about the history and already being baseball fans it was the icing on the cake for us! We were like kids in candy stores!!! Bottom Line: More of a very impressive private collection of ballpark memorabilia on display than a typical museum. My husband and I love baseball and touring various parks around the country so we were looking forward to checking out the National Ballpark Museum. The museum is a relative small space but it is packed with memorabilia like turn styles, seats, signs, programs, baseballs and such. It is a very impressive collection but in many cases it is hard to tell what you're looking at because signage or plaques describing the items are few and far between. I'm sure the very kind owner is glad to answer any questions but I wish there was a little more available for the self-explorer. Admission is $15 which seemed pricey for the overall experience. This is absolutely a five-star collection but as a museum I'm going to have to stick with three stars. read more

I saw this place on my first trip to Denver in 2013 but it was past hours. On my second trip to Denver in 2017, I had completely forgotten about this place. Now on this trip, I made it a point to visit. They have a lot of neat things to look at. I enjoyed seeing all the different artifacts from the old jewel box ballparks. My only complaint is that I would like to have seen more but I know the space is limited. Either way, it was a nice to finally get to visit. read more

Absolutely love this place! The owner, Bruce is awesome! We were lucky to arrive late in the afternoon and got a personal tour. I was blown away by how much the museum had to offer. If you are a fan of Major League Baseball and happen to be in the Denver area, this is a must-visit, a museum dedicated to the original ballparks that were (and are still in some cases) there when professional baseball was in its infancy. You walk in and are just surrounded by memories of the various ballparks of yesteryear. From seats to pennants (and even a checkerboard) and everything in between, this is a neat place to check out. Also, if your home team is in town to play the Rockies, chances are if they are an older team, you might see your team highlighted at the museum. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who's a baseball fan (and for those of us who are trying to get to all the MLB ballparks). Its in the shadows of Coors Field (the main entrance to the ballpark is literally a half block from the museum) and a great way to spend an hour or two before going to see some baseball. The museum may be small in size but its definitely big in memories and nostalgia. read more

Located a block from Coors Field's home plate, the National Ballpark Museum is a wonderful place to visit if you are a baseball fan. The collection of items that baseball connoisseur and Denver native Bruce Hellerstein has assembled in this LoDo marvel is truly amazing. There are a lot of permanent exhibits that will cause you to pause and reflect on its importance, and the staff constantly updates exhibits. I have visited multiple times since moving to Colorado, and I find something new and interesting each visit. The museum is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Among the items: A Babe Ruth tax return, artifacts from some of the sport's historic ballparks (like turnstiles from the original Yankee Stadium or the cornerstone from Pittsburgh's Forbes Field), photos from baseball history, authenticated jerseys, game programs from memorable events, autographed baseballs, seats from former ballparks, even light fixtures from Ebbets Field. I love the stories about the items and how they were acquired. The museum also pays homage to Denver's stroied baseball past, displaying elements of Mile High Stadium and Bears Stadium, plus documenting the city's hardball history. Love the last pitching rubber used at Mile High Stadium from a Rockies game, and all their Denver Bears memorabilia. The staff is both helpful and accomodating, and can answer questions about all the items scattered throughout the museum. Love of the game is in abundance here, spend some time browsing, you won't be disappointed. If you are attending a Rockies game, it's just a short walk to the ballpark. read more

Pretty much across the street from the ballpark it's super easy to visit before a game. I lucked out and was able to walk through with the owner. Here in Denver on a trip with my Dad. Based on the great reviews, we targeted this place for a visit today before the Rockies game. Despite the website saying it is open, the place was locked shut. Very nice collection, most are from baseball stadiums that are no longer in use! Is definitely worth the $20 donation to see the museum.

Fun baseball museum that isn't big, but is extremely packed with information, stories, and memorabilia. Whether you're a casual or serious fan of the sport, you can spend a long time here reading through all the background information on known and not well known artifacts many decades back. The lady that runs the place is super friendly and will give you an in depth introduction on some of the items. Definitely recommend. read more

I'm a big baseball fan and had some time between my meetings. It's a small museum and had just opened so since I was the only one there, I lucked out and got a personal tour! The museum is open Tuesday - Saturday from 11am - 5pm and has a $10 admission. It use to be called B's Ball Museum to describe the personal collection of Bruce Hellerstien. There are so many one of kind items, from tickets, to light fixtures and chairs to uniforms and pieces from every MLB team! read more

Visited this museum space when in Denver last weekend and enjoyed the experience. Everything in the museum has been collected by the owner, Bruce, and you can definitely tell he has a great appreciation for classic baseball stadiums and the like. Bruce showed our larger group of us around the museum after we were split into two groups of 12... and then he showed each group around the museum space and went into fascinating detail about the various pieces and the history of the game. While incredibly knowledgeable, perhaps the only downer was how often Bruce compared present-day baseball as an experience and seemed to feel fairly negatively about it - certainly by comparison to the history of the game. I understand it, certainly, as there are definitely aspects of today's game that I question and/or strongly disagree with. That said, it was a bit distracting in how often the negatives were brought up. TL;DR Small space, but lots of treasures. Make sure to stop by and enjoy if you're in Denver - and it's open. The hours can be a bit wonky, it seems (our initial group arrived and Bruce wasn't at the museum, so we had to call him and wait a couple minutes before he arrived), but there's so much history to wallow in. read more

What a hidden gem this was on my recent vacation to Denver. After stopping by the Colorado Rockies team store we were on our way back to the 16th Street Mall when we stumbled across a sign that stated that it was a baseball ball park museum. Being the Baseball Fan/Nerd that I am I couldn't pass up this opportunity. Eagerly I tried opening the door to only realize that there was a private tour currently going on. I rang the door bell and a young gentlemen came to the door and told us that they tour was going to be over in about 10 minutes to just hang tight outside. After about 5 minutes a very kind older women opened the door and told us that if we were very quiet she would give us a tour of the museum even though they were still closed. The price is $10, but if you are a big baseball fan it is worth every single penny of the ten dollars. Most, if not all of this memorabilia you will never get to see again in your life time unless you come back here! I would love to tell you everything that is inside of this palace of awesomeness but that would run the experience for you. Just know that there is something for every baseball fan in here and most of the teams are covered. The museum focuses on stadiums that were built in the early 20th century, but there are some modern baseball displays as well. I will forever cherish this opportunity I was granted to see and touch some of the most fascinating baseball displays ever. The owner and collector sure knows what he has and is kind enough to share his knowledge with his visitors. Give it a shot, you'll love it! read more

If you're a serious baseball fan, this place is a Denver must see. It's not a huge place but they have a ton of memorabilia from different teams and older ballparks including Wrigley, Fenway, and old Yankee Stadium. They also have lots of stuff from older parks before my time like Forbes Field, Griffith Stadium, etc. The woman who was our guide was VERY nice and knowledgable. I'm a huge baseball nut and knew I had to stop for a visit before the Rockies game. It's basically a home run's distance from the ballpark and has a lot of cool baseball artifacts from stadiums/teams that don't exist anymore. One of the few remaining windows from Forbes Field in Pittsburgh? Check. Signage from old Crosley Field in Cincinnati? Check. Extensive collection of seats from defunct stadiums? Check. You get the idea. It's basically someone's personal collection that wanted to share it with other baseball fans and the rooms are themed. One room has a lot of stuff from the minor league Denver Bears, there's a Wrigley Field room (complete with authentic Cubs on deck circle!), a section for the Yankees/Dodgers, Forbes Field (Pirates), Crosley Field (Reds), and all kinds of stadium seats and pennants from parks past. A lot of this kind of stuff is unique and fun to look at. The lady working in the front was super nice and very knowledgeable, giving us background on all the stuff and giving us great insight! Even as a serious baseball geek, I was able to see what I wanted to see in less than 45 minutes, so the casual fan might think it's not worth the $10 admission. But fans who love and have an appreciation of the rich history of the game will be glad they came! read more
