For the most part this place was fine. It was a bed and a shower for very cheap so I can't really complain for what we paid for. Unfortunately, our themastat didn't work in our room, our toilet was clogged and the chain latch was nearly ripped off the door frame. The room clearly had not been vacuumed and there was what appeared to be dog hair everywhere on the carpet. My boyfriend is allergic to dogs so this was very uncomfortable for him. The entire first floor smells horribly of cigarettes so walking through the lobby was unpleasant. There was one older woman at the front desk who was very nice and thorough in her speech about the hotel. I probably wouldn't stay here again, given the choice and just pay a little more for a better hotel. read more

Frazzled staff due to Sturgis and Pyrotechnic Competition. Room not ready in time for check in. Ok rooms, shower and free breakfast in Lariat Room next door (tip highly encouraged). Grounds need cleaning up as they are completely littered with cigarette butts...makes it look junky. Will probably stay somewhere else next time. read more

AMAZING PLACE! AMAZING PEOPLE! AMAZING HOSPITALITY A MUST VISIT!!! I want to tell you a little story. My sister and i were going tru Gillette Wy. Unfortunately there was a blizzard and we went off the road. We were unable to continue on this trip, my birthday trip to mall of America. Damaged car bunch of stuff we had to figure out. I was so stressed boarder line ready for a break down. The highway patrol dropped us off to a lil section of heaven in form of the National 9 hotel. We had brought our dogs whom were stressed out and with tears in our eyes and shaking doggos, this angel shows up to the desk. She was like a great big hugs. She and owner went outta there way to get us a room. For-going their usual pet deposit and giving us rm discount. Showing us that there was a restaurant bar casino lounge right down the inside hallway. She brought us to our room which for what i was expecting was beautiful clean, frig, microwave, bathroom essentials, and linens on bed were very i nviting. The whole hotel was very nice not perfect but loved. And did i mention the casino and bar down the hall you could smoke in... yay!!! The staff was incredible. from maintenance, to owner, desk, servers, bartenders, house keeping, were awesome such wonderful, accommodating people. They put us at ease, they made sure we knew if we needed anything they were there. Greeted us in morning with smiles and fresh coffee. These wonderful people went above, above and beyond in there customer service . Which was so refreshing since all of this covid stuff people are divided angry and frustrated. But not in this little slice of heaven of gillette wy. Thank you to. everyone here and Steve the Cabby who drove us everywhere. So if anyone comes to Gillette or lands in Gillette stay at the National 9 hotel you will not be disappointed!!! And do me a favor tell them I said hello and Tiffany and Jamie sent you. It's not a bad choice for a night and it almost feels like you're going into a dude ranch. The bed was overall clean but there was a long female hair inside the sheets. The sheets were clean though and no stains were visible to the naked eye at least. Towels were fine and the room and bathroom were on the older side but functional. The curtains were a little dusty but they had a very reasonable price and offer a price match on their website. There is a restaurant and bar next door but no free breakfast. I didn't eat there so I can't comment on that. The staff was friendly and helpful. I'd stay here again if I came through. And they do have 24 hour coffee at the desk. read more

Had to pull over in Gillette due to weather and they seemed to have a good price at the hotel. We ended up getting stuck at the hotel because I90 was closed for two days due to snow. Staff was very friendly and helpful when we had to keep checking in. If you register online you get a free breakfast at the cafe next door. Breakfast is good there but I don't really recommend the dinner, but breakfast is served all day long! Rooms were what we expected for the price and we're clean and comfortable. I rated it two stars because we had a non-smoking room and yet it smelled like smoke constantly. All of the non-smoking rooms are spread out between smoking rooms so there's no way you won't smell smoke anywhere in the hotel. We ended up leaving our windows open during the snowstorm just so we had fresh air. We never asked to switch rooms because the entire hotel was setup that way. If you're sensitive to smoke and don't like it don't stay here. I would have gone somewhere else if we weren't snowed in :) If you don't care about smoke smell and are looking for a place that is inexpensive and clean although a little dated, then it's a good choice. read more

Tell you whatever they can to make a sale then I was supposed to get a room with king bed that we paid for . got two small beds a room with no air conditioning that when I tried to turn on shorted out blew breaker . had to get them to reset. They didn't offer to fix or give us a different room . we hadn't used or touched anything . girl working after 10 you wouldn't know even worked there she was hugged up making out with boyfriend on couch in lobby . dogs were allowed in pet rooms which they still had but my housebroke cat wasn't ! I had to leave him outside which would have been fine if I would have got the room around back so I didn't have to pack my stuff around building . a bunch of fake. Crooks! .I guess they figured if I got the room around back I could let the cat in seems like discrimination to me must have been afraid he would bark and wake people or chew on furniture so I'm sitting here with no air kinda mad 0 read more

Great place to stay for a great price. The staff were all exceptionally friendly and accommodating, and our online booking also included a complimentary breakfast at the attached café -- miles better than any continental breakfast. The hotel is a little dated but clean and the friendly staff make up for that in a big way. We booked this through Hotwire and didn't know the specific location till it was booked, and it was a pleasant surprise. read more

Our Company, Trubey Enterprises have Auto Staffed Events in the Gillette and Casper area every 3-4 months. We have stayed many weeks at the Casper location but it was our first time at the Gillette location and were quite pleased. Our stay was from Oct. 17-24 where Liz at the front desk had taken the time to show us several rooms in the back of the hotel for long term guests and checked us in. Liz informed us that we could check with Linda the next morning to see if a front room would become available, which there was, so we moved into it for the rest of the week. The room wasn't quite ready for us in the beginning but Virginia in House Keeping expedited her services to get the room ready quickly and professionally. Our room was very clean and cozy. The General Manager L.D. had also approved for us the same business rate as the National 9 Inn in Casper. Thank you! I also had left a personal hair towel behind in the previous room and I had let Linda at the front desk know, within an hour my hair towel was returned to me hanging on my door in a bag. When I reserved the room online it said dogs welcome! When I got to the motel the entire building wreaked of smoke. I decided not to say anything since the room was relatively cheap. The front desk person could not figure out the computer system (just started?) he processed my room and said he would let me know if he missed anything. The room was street level and car lights could pop through the curtains at any time. Also the room was worn and shabby. Worst of all it smelled of smoke. I had to remind myself it was late and the room was cheap. Another woman came to my room a few mins later; did not identify herself and gruffly told me I had to go to the front desk because the new person did not process my credit card. Then she told me she did not allow dogs in the front rooms and it would have to stay in the car overnight??!. I informed her the dog was a hearing dog. She didn't seem to care...she expected me to pay for the room after kicking the dog out and being extremely rude? Maybe she should get out of the service industry? If you look forward to poor service, unfriendly staff, a stinky, dirty motel that does not abide by federal laws when it comes to service dogs-then definitely go to this motel! read more
