Our room was AMAZEBALLS!!!! We had the two bedroom suite for a very reasonable fee. It was clean and had all we needed and was super roomy and even had two bathrooms!!!!!. The pool was lovely and the hot tub hot. Breakfast was a little better than average and the team was kind and efficient. The way to earn five stars? Ditch the styrofoam for real plates and cups, and provide disinfectant wipes in the workout room - eeeew. read more

We stayed for two nights while visiting family over Labor Day weekend. From check in to check out, everything and every employee we encountered were wonderful. The king bed was very comfortable, and the morning breakfast had some great options. From scrambled eggs, sausage and pancakes, to cereal, yogurts, and fresh fruits. Tried to adjust dates by one day for a funeral. No communication with hotel. Called, emailed, for several days no one answered phone or emails. Charged for 2 days although I only stayed for one. Nice hotel but smells like smoke in the lobby. People smoke right outside the front doors. Nice pool and hot tub. The place they could improve would be to answer phone for fixes to be made ahead of time. Enjoyed being welcomed by a warm fire in the lobby upon arrival. There was also a coffee bar with lots of syrup options. Room was just an average room, very clean and came with a fridge and microwave. The tub was quite large. Dine in the dining room for breakfast or bring it back to your room. Biggest plus is free laundry! Great for travelers. Inexpensive and worth the stay in my opinion. read more

As a combat vet I am very heartbroken that our flag is so disrespected here. I stayed there on the 14th of October and per my recommendation my Aunt checked in today the 28th of October to find that our Flag still torn and dangling!!! When I was there, I offered to bring it down with respect and fold it the way it should be. the staff could care less. I guess in the world we live in - this doesn't matter anymore. To someone who has out there life on the line - it does matter. I would have done it but nope... Old Glory is dead at the Arbuckle. Update - since this review, I have been threaten by the GM with calling the police, the desk manager lied and said I threatened her (what?). Lied to that a lock smith has been called - I verified this with ALL them in Gillette, they just refuse to take OUR flag down. So sad. read more

The Arbuckle (no relationship to Jon. Gotta love Garfield) Lodge is a magnificent place, inside and out. Having arrived at about 1:30 a.m., I drag myself into a magnificent Lobby and went to the desk. The gal behind the counter was in training, so we had to wait a minute or two for the regular lady to come back. But other than that, check on went pretty easy, and I even got a discount. My room and the bathroom, are absolutely fantastic; plenty of room in both, though it may be a bit of a reach for the toilet paper to some people. Since I was just here for a few hours, and other than pictures, I really can't add much to this review. But, both of desk gals were very friendly and helpful. And, one thing that I don't recall ever hearing from any hospitality place, there's a guest laundry at no charge (only if I waited an extra day). Looking forward to breakfast before hitting the road. Oh, wow! Outside of a restaurant, I've never seen a place with a breakfast selection like this. They had traditional continental breakfast with cereal frozen yogurt. But they also had waffles, eggs, French toast, sausage combo, breakfast burritos and biscuits and sausage gravy (which I had). It was really good (I would have liked a bit more flavor to the gravy. But, the gotta cater to those who like it lite. There's always salt and pepper. read more

Cons-dirty walls, only 1 slow elevator, no private business center & printer doesn't work, require a wristband be worn throughout stay to use the pool, fitness center, & eat breakfast. The complimentary water for tea was not warm the 2x we went for tea. No blackout curtains sun shines in at dawn. Pillows lumpy like they had been washed then dried in dryer, no maid service, bed was like a hammock. Requested toothbrush & they charge an extra $2 after an already $200+/night stay. Friendly staff but very turned off by their paranoia of insuring you wear a wristband to use any of the amenities you paid good money for. read more

My wife, our dog, and I spent 4-1/2 months at the Arbuckle Lodge while my wife was working in Gillette. We stayed in a nice two-bedroom apartment. The kitchen and living room were substantially larger than the kitchen and living room in a 2BR apartment at Residence Inn, which made the Arbuckle Lodge a great place for a long-term stay. The Arbuckle Lodge is also a dog-friendly place; the staff were very nice to our dog. read more

Arbuckle Lodge is a pretty nice place, certainly above the average hotel experience. The room we stayed in was clean, comfortable, and spacious. Plenty of amenities: fridge, microwave, and all the usuals (tv, etc). Didn't use the pool area, but it looked nice. Fitness center was a little small, but hey: they got one! And all the equipment in there was in good working condition. Very nice guest laundry, honestly some of the best machines we've seen at any hotel with guest laundry. The breakfast was reduced due to Covid, as it has been at many hotels throughout the pandemic. Despite the reduction, the breakfast they provided was still above average compared to most other hotels. Staff was also nice and respectful. They ask that guests wear masks and use hand sanitizer before entering the building. There are multiple sanitizer stations throughout the lobby area. These rules looked largely ignored by most guests, which isn't surprising, but it's nice that Arbuckle Lodge makes the effort for guests who care. I would definitely stay here again when I'm in the area and easily recommend to anyone else. read more

My wife and I just moved here six months ago and she has been non-stop with absolutely everything since then. She needed a break. So, I booked one of your most expensive suites for that break. However, it wasn't not only a break - it added a ton of additional stress and turned a weekend she had been looking forward to into a major disappointment, that only served to add to her stress levels. * The attached is our text message string. Her experience was so bad - she cried and just wanted to come home. From your hotel. A full day early. * The fireplace didn't work immediately upon arrival. There were no directions. There wasn't a remote. o After struggling for half an hour (before being able to unpack her suitcase even since the room wasn't warm), she struggled with this. o It took two hotel employees another half an hour to finally discover a 'hidden' switch around the corner. o A placard on the mantel and/or a sign informing one of a switch a spell aways from the actual fireplace would be extremely helpful to guests. * The room wasn't warm nor did the fireplace emit enough heat to warm the room. * Because of the lack of heat, the jacuzzi room was colder than the bedroom. Made for a very unpleasant jacuzzi experience. * The refrigerator made a loud BUZZING noise and had to be unplugged just to be able to get to sleep. o She had perishable food items she brought and those items perished as a result. * For breakfast the following morning, the pancake machine 'exploded'. She waited for half an hour for it to get fixed. It didn't within that time so she didn't get to eat breakfast. * You have your suites at the same location as your standard rooms. This meant that when school buses full of children got up in the morning - my wife's entire bedroom was full of loud banging doors, people yelling in the hallways outside of her door et cetera and she couldn't get rest nor could she even read a book it was so loud and ear pounding. * You allow pets. I respect this as a pet owner. However, you had not one, but two guests with dogs directly adjacent to Jamie's room and BOTH had dogs that were barking incessantly for hours upon hours. We have video of the dogs barking if you'd like to view them. o We called staff and they eventually quieted the dogs. read more

We had some unexpected vehicle trouble during a family vacation and needed to stay in Gillette longer than originally planned. My family, including a toddler, were stranded with our luggage until the maintenance was complete. We were assisted by an outstanding receptionist named Mandy. She went above-and-beyond getting us in a room ASAP. The cleaning crew also did a wonderful job to get us in a room quickly. They really helped us out of a bind! The room was clean, the beds comfortable, and the stay was enjoyable. I very much recommend the Arbuckle Lodge if your travels take you through Gillette. read more

Wow! What an amazing place for the money. My wife made our reservations on line. And she warned me "I don't know what to expect because of the cheap price." Well we pull up and the building is immaculate and beautiful on the outside. I can tell that's its newly constructed. We go inside and the young lady that greeted us was very friendly. Told us about the indoor pool and hot tub. Then proceeded to tell us about the breakfast that included like 30 items and omelette's on request. The room was great and the beds very comfortable. This place does not honor reservations! Stay away! I made a reservation with no cancellation policy 2 months in advance. When I get there they do not have the room with the jacuzzi as promised. They don't even have a normal room for us. This is unacceptable. Not only that, they didn't help us find another place in town and almost all the other hotels were booked too. The GM does not care anymore and has no experience in the hospitality industry. She should be fired but they have kept her around for some reason. Read reviews on TripAdvisor, it's just sad. Soon the rating will drop just because of her and their tactics of ripping people off. read more

So, the positives - great sized room. There's a nice pool, ok fitness room. good breakfast for kids (pancakes, waffles, Biscuits and gravy, eggs, sausage etc). The staff were all very nice. The bed was very comfortable. Normally all this would make it 4-5 stars for me. the rooms wasn't cleaned right. I found a empty bottle of lotion under the bed. lots of paper trash throughout the room, under tables/behind chairs. there was a big wet spot in the middle of the 'entry' room to our mini-suite. The hot tub had noticeable trash in the bottom of it. So...not so bad that I feel gross staying here, but indicative of lower cleaning standards. The TV is locked down, which I guess is their prerogative. But usually that's so people can rent stuff from the hotel. And I get that, but you can't rent stuff. We usually travel with a small dvd player or some other media device, and you can't access them. Again, not a big deal..but a small annoyance, especially when the cable signal is piss poor. read more

Reserved online with them directly for a specific rate but got there and they charged me double. I questioned it, and she refunded the overcharge. Then the manager recharged the overcharge amount again because she didn't have 'notes' on the account. Now I have to wait for 10 days for all the overcharges to be refunded to my CC. This place is amazing. It brings comfy country and modern together with a family style bed and breakfast feel. The staff are amazing! So kind and helpful. Large family style meals prepared from scratch. Dinner was $5 each! And breakfast included. I came with my 3 children and they enjoyed the pool/hot tub, large room, and loved the food. This place is decorated cute as pics show, but the rooms have modern air and heating and new bathroom fixtures. It's 3 stories with an elevator that works well. There is a small snack shop with soda, water and iced coffee as well. read more

This was a great find on our road trip. Really pretty, nice decor. Definitely felt like I was out west lol. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The free breakfast was amazing (especially the biscuits). The pool and hot tub were spacious and clean. However, I don't know if I would stay again as they are clearly strong supporters of the NRA, having signs of their support smattering the lobby. I guess that's normal here in Wyoming, but I generally do my best not to support businesses that send money to places like that. Also, they didn't have bar soap, they just had weird dispensers that didn't have very much soap in them. I thought it might be a covid thing, but no one was wearing masks. Breakfast was pretty standard for a hotel breakfast but had some local specialties in crock pots which was a nice touch. I would stay here again. They offered order ahead breakfast and served it socially distanced the next morning to take back to our rooms. They had hand sanitizer in the front lobby and encouraged mask use. Absolutely awesome experience!!! I was here with a Convention and I LOVE staying here!!!! I bring my dog and it is very dog friendly, but the rooms are so quiet, you wouldn't know there were any other dogs there. The front desk staff was very kind, professional and welcoming even though they were busy due to all the delegates checking in at once. My room was immaculate and well appointed with everything I needed. Maybe I could've used a more comfortable chair to relax in, but besides that, the room and the bed were very comfortable. I could control the temperature well and the room was very dark with the lights off, not like some where there are lights blinking everywhere. I love how the rooms are on the opposite side of the parking lot so the security lights aren't shining in the windows. I don't eat breakfast so can't speak personally to that but everyone I talked to liked it. It's very near to a really pretty walking path/park so I could go for a run in the morning and right across from the Convention Center. I will definitely stay here again!!! read more

Stay here if you like getting a different room than the one you reserved. After a long drive with my daughter we were informed that our king room was changed to a double queen. No phone call or email to let us know that this had happened. When I asked why this was done I was told that they like to give king rooms to executives..... I guess we weren't important enough to have the room we reserved kept. I suggest treating your customers a little better than that if you want to keep your hotel full. What an incredible hotel! They did not miss anything when it comes to comfort and luxury! I don't believe I've ever been sad when leaving a hotel but I literally did not want to leave. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming, the rooms themselves were immaculate and beautiful. The continental breakfast was as good as eating at a restaurant, and the coffee bar deserves a shout out as well haha! The room was HUGE and well decorated. I'm a neat freak and could not find anything that wasn't cleaned so props to the maids. The pool is beautiful even though we didn't have time to swim in it. The back area was really nice to sit outside at night, there was a fire pit and a bbq grill if you wanted to grill some stuff up. I could literally go on and on and on about how much I love this place!! Long long story short, you will be extremely pleased with the service and accommodations of this hotel!! read more

My family and I stayed there in August on the last leg of our trip. The hotel was nice don't get me wrong but for starters the front desk person said she was new and couldn't print me off a check in paper at the time not a big deal. That evening checking on banking see that not only were we charged by an outside site for the room but the hotel charges us twice for the room. Once for incidentals is normal I get that but once it was brought up to staff in the morning we were told they would get them both put back into our card. We left and waited a few days to see the refund show up. It has now been a month. I have made numerous phone calls to the Hotel with the same answer "The manager isn't available can I send you to her direct voicemail" several messages and never a call back. Customer service is terrible, essentially they stolen money from me and are refusing to give it back. read more

Management oversight went from bad to worse following an employees epic mistake. An employee accidentally canceled an entire wedding parties reservations that were made months in advance. It took numerous phone calls to correct the error for each guest. I talked personally with the hotel every day for the 3 days prior to arrival. We arrived at 10:30pm the night our stay was to begin only to be told they gave away one of our two rooms with only another sorry. Only being offered a single room with one king bed for 4 adults we had no choice but to finally cancel our reservation and fend for ourselves for other accommodations. I understand people make mistakes, but this hotel shows no ability to manage properly nor take responsibilities for their errors. read more

Our baseball team stayed 2 nights at the Arbuckle Lodge. The 1st night was wonderful and our boys were even commended by the staff on their good behavior in the pool and around the hotel. The 2nd night was a nightmare! The hotel booked a graduation party INSIDE the pool area of the deck area and left the pool open to the guests. So our boys used the pool normally, as little boys would do. Apparently, they weren't supposed to do that...... It quickly turned into a horrible situation with both parties VERY upset. The manager is quite difficult to work with and loves to write/comment disparaging things on social media about guests she doesn't care for. They has a thirsty Thursday for Thursday night football that was a lot of fun and a bonus! Had beer and snacks during the game in a great atmosphere!
