This hotel is adequate. The rooms are decent in size and clean for the most part, although some corners of our room needed an addition pass with a vacuum. The room key reader is a bit wonky (rm 319) and we had trouble getting in after several tries. We're also missing bath soap and a bathroom floor mat . read more

Normally when I land a great deal on a hotel, I expect to make some sacrifices in terms of appearance and amenities. However, Wingate exceeded my expectations in all aspects: -Check-in was fast and we were greeted by friendly staff who actually seemed happy to be there! -The room was clean and well stocked with coffee pods, towels, bathroom products, etc. -Any need we had during our stay was addressed promptly by helpful staff members -Breakfast was enjoyable and plentiful with many options that changed every few days - Coffee stations, ice water stations, toasters, utensils, plates, bowls, cups, and condiments, were accessible in the breakfast area 24/7 making dining in our hotel room easy. Plus, we had a fridge and microwave in the room. -I regularly noticed common areas like the lobby, public restroom, and fitness center being cleaned to maintain the hotel's nice appearance. We came to Gillette looking for housing which took much longer than anticipated, meaning that our stay was extended many times! The amazing staff and their outstanding level of customer service made getting through this time much more manageable. We are so thankful for having this experience during life's challenge. Wingate by Wyndham in Gillette leaves a lot to be desired. During check in, they found our reservation but tried to make us pay again. Spent an hour managing the situation before we could get settled. While we were at the pool later, a teenager snuck friends in through the back door to swim. We called the front desk the first night because the hall was filled with smoke. They said someone cooked something and it would clear out soon. At breakfast, the biscuits were frozen and the gravy was still refrigerator cold. We let the lady know. She said she was sorry but she was too busy and told us to use the microwave. That evening we came back and no one responded to the bell. We call the front desk while standing at it. When someone answered they said they'd be right there but it was still another 5 minutes. There was a big unsupervised party going on in the lobby. The lady gave us the new room key without even confirming we were the actual people in the room we asked for. We were scheduled (and paid for) 2 nights. The fire alarms began going off at about 8pm. They blamed the hot tub. This continued every few minutes until we left at 10pm. By then the fire department was there and the front desk stopped responding altogether to whether there was an actual problem or not. The place was rundown. Paint was peeling near the windows and it was generally a poor experience. It is definitely overpriced for the quality and experience. Wyndham needs to come review their ownership of this place. read more

The staff called the police on us because we arrived on the later side back at the hotel. A member of our group was actually kicked out of the hotel. Speaking with multiple members of the group who were present and able to speak on the situation, the staff continuously lied to police as well as us as we asked what the situation was. There were many holes in the story. Please avoid this hotel, as they were rude, racist, and untrustworthy in cooperating with us. read more

The rooms are what you expect of a two star hotel. Clean with common amenities such as tv and microwave. However, I cannot say the same about the service and breakfast. Wingate cheaped out on options such as sausage and bacon. Furthermore, they also locked us out of the milk and half and half, so we couldn't even enjoy our cereal or coffee. I originally thought that they did this by accident, but staff were no where to be found despite our efforts to look. Finally, they were very stingy with the amount of food they put out. There was only enough food for each person in my group to get a single serving of hot food. Unacceptable! read more

I love Wyndham's and this one is no exception! It's in a great location right off the interstate and close to tons of food and shopping. Christina checked us in and she was great! Very professional, friendly and helpful. The rooms are beautiful, clean, quiet and cozy. I would definitely come here again! Update: 2/4/18...Upon check in I was told by Christina that she couldn't find the Veteran's discount, but she knew they had one, and the morning clerk would take care of it. Just went to check out and the morning clerk couldn't find it and stated they don't have a Vet discount. I've stayed at other Windgate's and have always gotten the discount. Just want to give a heads up to other Veterans that may think they have the discount. read more

If I could rate it lower than 1 star, I gladly would. The rooms are filthy, the staff is rude and they wouldn't refund my money even though I paid for a week and only stayed 1 night. This was the absolute worst experience I have EVER had at a hotel, and I've stayed in hundreds of them. Stay away from this hell hole at all costs!!! I tried three rooms and ended up taking the least bad of the three. The pipes had orange gunk on them, there was hair all over tub, floor, and sink, the fridge had pink liquid on the bottom of it, tub drain was filthy and the manager gave me an attitude when I told her about my issues and refused to refund my money for 6 full nights after I refused to stay one more night. She wouldn't even give me a phone number for the owner so we had to call coryeporate. Unbelievable joke of a motel and lousy staff! read more

Would it hurt to get some sheets that fit the bed Wingate? Both queens in my room had fittedsheets that only wrap halfway down the sides of the mattress pad. Maybe Wingate is new to bedding but that's not a recipe to keep a fitted sheet on all night. Multiple times throughout the night I'd wake up to both corners, head and toe, bunching up and me directly touching the mattress. Bleh. At least there is free breakfast. Also the phone in my room didn't work and my room had two conditioners and no shampoo. read more

BEWARE! Room booked and paid in advance to arrival. Charged card $100.00 despite no incidentals purchased. Front desk promised to refund within 24 hours. No refund received. Wyndham Customer Care hung up right after saying, "hotel is independently owned and we have no ability to correct charge." Wingate Gillette Manager on duty 'not available.' In addition after driving ten hours in a blizzard, room assigned was 2 degrees as window had been left open. Am out $100.00 and got little sleep. Find another hotel. read more

If I could put 0 stars I would. After a long day of traveling from California, we arrived at about midnight to check into this hotel. While unpacking our bags, showering, and getting ready for a good nights sleep, along with noticing that the drawers were filled with crumbs, nothing was dusted, and the mirrors looked as if they had not been wiped in a month +, I go to pull back the sheets only to discover WET URINE SOAKING THE BED. Never in any hotel have I experienced such a disgusting thing in my life. Yellow and soaking wet spots, very clear and obvious were from someone wetting the bed..... Which means one thing... THE SHEETS WERE NOT EVEN CHANGED after the previous hotel guest. Not only is this disgusting, but now makes me nervous about any future hotel experiences, to even think that there are hotels that operate in such a fashion where regular room inspections are not being made and that maids are not held to a standard. To add to the piss filled sheets, the first day of our stay after being placed in a brand new room, we left the hotel room for the day at about 10 am, to come back to the hotel late at night where we were not given fresh towels, and cleaning/bed service was not made. You would think after the previous night we had with the urine situation, that the staff would be SURE that our room was kept clean... Upon check out, when asking for the general manager's information, and returning our keys, my credit card was charged AGAIN... This hotel stay was PAID FOR IN ADVANCED, and confirmed by the front desk upon check-in. NEVER again will I be staying in a Wyndham Windgate. I am absolutely disgusted and traumatized. read more

Meh. It's okay...not gross or unsafe but nothing fancy. Maybe my business travel has turned me into a prima Donna but I wasn't impressed with hearing footsteps from upstairs, my door looking like it had been busted open (locks worked fine for my stay), the condition of the shower, the dirty towel left in my sink by room service, or the uncomfortable bed. On the plus side, the have pool/fitness/business center (all small-didnt use any of these), complimentary breakfast (standard hotel-quality) and it's easy to find and near plenty of restaurants. read more

I stay here every time I am in Gillette and this time has been for 17 days. It is conveniently located and more than adequate in terms of cleanliness and amenities. I do recommend you stay on the 3rd floor since you may be kept up by people walking around the rooms above you if you don't. The business center doesn't have adobe on their desktop so you can't print PDF files but the workers at the front desk took the time to print documents for me. The room is spacious and clean enough but bathroom fixtures are starting to show signs of wear but now I feel like I am nitpicking. The one negative is their internet isn't very fast especially at night. I travel A LOT and this is definitely a pleasant place to stay. Priceline is definitely worth checking into for this hotel. Pretty average hotel in Gillette. Nothing too extraordinary. Has a pool, gym, and hot tub with WiFi access available. It's right downtown and has a shuttle from the airport too. The breakfast is tolerable (not good), but what you'd expect from a hotel. While the rooms are clean and nice, the walls are thin. I could clearly hear my neighbor's phone conversation in the hall and through our shared wall. This makes it a bit awkward. read more

They apparently may have gotten my review removed from Google, claiming that they have no record of me staying there. Well, nice try, because I have the receipt and the credit card charge. I booked on Hotels.com. Total paid: $220.87. I stayed the night of 2017-08-20, right before the solar eclipse. This place leaked so much noise from the other rooms, especially the one above, that I managed to get only two hours of sleep! I couldn't report any neighboring guests, because they weren't doing anything wrong. It wasn't the guests' fault that this building is built so poorly that it creaks, groans, thumps, and shakes when someone just walks in their room. It's also not the guests' fault that whoever built it really skimped on the insulation. If you must stay here, ask yourself, "do I need a good night's sleep?" If the answer is "yes", demand a room on the top floor at an end or look elsewhere. I recommend looking elsewhere. Also, the room was a bit filthy, especially the bathroom. read more

When I write a review I try my best to leave my opinion out and only state the facts which help make someone else's decision better. I hope too management reads the review to make their product better, if that's their desire. This hotel is clean and comfortable. Rooms are about average size, maybe slightly larger. There was a fridge and microwave in my room, a sitting chair a desk and chair, and bed. The bed is modestly plush, which I personally found real comfortable. The bathroom was clean and bright. The shower head is high enough for a tall person to get underneath it. The things I found to be less desireable: the breakfast is a almost exclusively highly processed intensely salt infused food (which seems to be pretty common in this part of the country anyway). I didn't even see the fruit (red delicious apples and oranges only) until i was throwing my STYROFOAM plate away since it wasn't located on the counter w the rest of the breakfast food. There's no recycling bins in the building (also consistent with this part of the country) There is music that plays throughout the hotel...24 hrs a day. It's audible even with the door closed. The WiFi is spotty and not terribly fast. I couldn't watch Netflix from my room this stay but have before. There's an airport shuttle and a small gym which is nice. read more

I stayed here last night, after a hell of a day at the local airport. After being at the airport all day (9a-6p) they set me up a reservation and a shuttle to the Wingate. The shuttle was quick, the driver was very nice and helped with all my luggage. The front desk had never seen an airline voucher like mine, but was so nice and helpful, and got me into my room quickly. She was helpful at recommending local restaurants, and when I explained that I wasn't flying out until 5pm the next day, she was extremely helpful in letting me do a later check-out and scheduling a shuttle for me back to the airport. Couldn't have asked for a more pleasant experience in a wonderful hotel with great rooms, staff, amenities, and a delicious breakfast. Highly Recommend! read more

I would stay here again. The free breakfast included eggs (powdered i think) potatoes, waffles , oatmeal, cereal, yogurt, and fruit. They had hot cookies in the evening. Exercise room was small...but usually empty so not an issue. The bed was comfy, and I could hear the neighbors through the wall. Better not have loud sex. I have mixed emotions about this hotel. My husband said it was his favorite one we stayed in on our road trip, that it felt the most "like home". Let me begin by saying the bed was OUTSTANDING. THE most comfortable bed we slept in, so if this is the most important thing to you, then go there. Also the breakfast was really good. That being said...our room was a "non-smoking" room, but it was blatantly obvious that this used to be a smoking room and the smell is still in the carpet and walls, bc it STANK like smoke. The hotel itself when we walked in also kind of reeked like that old, been around a while hotel smell. This is really a turn off to me (no matter how awesome the bed and breakfast) but I am extremely sensitive to smells. Like I said, it was my husband's favorite, but he could care less about smell. I'm familiar with other Wingate hotels but found this one disappointing. At a first glance it looks decent but given that it's surrounded by other comparable chains I wouldn't stay here. The toilet looked dirty, surely there is a cleanser that will eliminate the stains. The linens are very poor quality. Sheets have no body and the towels were like something from a single guy's dorm room. They were ratty, dingy and nearly see through. After my shower the towel actually tore as i dried. Given the other hotels nearby, try your luck elsewhere. read more

After starting off with having to sign a waiver saying we wouldn't bring pets or smoke in the hotel we went to our room to be hit with the lovely aroma of what smelled like a ash tray. We immediately went back to the front desk and asked for a new room. Once in the new room we noticed that the shower was disgusting there was so much soap scum in the shower if you touched it your fingers would turn white we complained to the front desk and asked to speak to the manager she said there wasn't one on duty but that she would clean the room for us after she cleaned it there still was no improvement. The lady gave my husband the cleaner and he had to clean it. In the morning we talked to the manager and they told us the only thing they could do was give us 20% off for another stay only at this one location. I will never stay at this hotel branch again. Oh in addition to cleaner the shower there was also blood splatter on the shower curtain walls and light in the bathroom. I get that house keeping can miss things but the management should make it right not just give their customers cleaner. read more

Felt lucky to find such a nice hotel at a reasonable rate. The woman at the front desk was extremely friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable, clean and modern. If in Gillette, (we were visiting Devil's Tower on our way to Yellowstone) you'd be hard pressed to find a better hotel with better staff. read more

Do not stay here! The place is falling apart. Was in town for business and thought because of the name it would be a safe bet. WRONG!! Pool and hot tub were broken, gym equipment was broken and aged. Just TV was a piece of garbage- even the alarm clock had a gooey handprint on it. I complained about the broken hot tub and while the manager tried to be accommodating by giving me a suite with a tub in it I had to buy bleach and scrub it before I even thought about having a bath, the fridge was covered in mold, the toilet was filthy, the coffee maker was broken. I have stayed in Motel 6's that were in better shape, further more I have never been so grossed out by a hotel room that I left and changed hotels in the middle of my stay. read more

We stopped here on a long trip across the country. We found it very nice, clean, comfortable. Breakfast was good. Only issue we found was a discrepancy between price online. Front desk staff cannot adjust or price match what was done online. Check the different hotel searches to find cheaper prices. Overall we were satisfied with this property and stay there agin.
