Dr. Watanabe is great. I was referred to her by the urgent care next door. I called in to make an…read moreappointment and after asking if I can be seen today because I was in pain, they were able to accommodate me. That alone was a great sign for me because I was in so much pain. The office seems small from the outside but it really quite spacious. First thing you notice is how clean and neat everything is, but also very inviting. That goes for the exam room too. Unlike some offices where you see a lot of people waiting, I was the only one at that time. That's because Dr. Watanabe really takes the time to explain and go over everything with you. She takes time to answer questions, and also working with you to find the best solution for you. I definitely left the appointment more informed of what I needed to do and what I needed to expect in terms of recovery, and for me it means no exercise until further notice. But in the name of getting better. You gotta do what you gotta do.

My mom has diabetes, and Dr WATANABE thoroughly went through my moms family history with diabetes. She examined my moms foot well, as she did a few test. My mom went in for toe nail clippings and Dr WATANABE did an amazingly awesome nail clip job! She is very thorough with her exams, explains well, kind and compassionate with patients! I'm so glad we made our visit because we will be going back! Her front office staf, Erin is also really nice and easy to work with too!

1-14-2026 After 2 office visits with Dr. Kristy Iwahashi-Marquez, we decided to go ahead with…read moresurgery on my third toe on my left foot. One day a teeny tiny bubble formed on that toe. It was kinda cute but didn't go away. It reminded me of that small kid time thing a ma jig tube you squeeze and roll a tiny jelly like ball onto a straw and blow. What we did as kids. Thank goodness it didn't smell like that product. Dr. Kristy told me on the first visit it's coming from the first joint on that toe so place a Kleenex on it and press. It didn't break and remained. So I made another appointment since it started to hurt when I pressed on it plus majorly not attractive. Long story short she advised me that she'd cut, spread it open, take out the joint and remove the bump which one day popped on its own without healing. 1/9/26 Went into surgery with Dr. Kristy and a fantastic team at Pali Momi. Five days later on 1/14/26 went in for a follow up. Was curious to see what the little toesy would look like...I imagined the worst so at the unveiling I was SO majorly pleased that the toe didn't flop without the first joint and wasn't badly discolored or bruised. Dr. Kristy explained it all depends on the healing process it could still flap- hideous! I'll do my best to heal well and come back on 1/22/26 to remove the stitches then go get a vibrant red colored pedicure with bling pronto to celebrate. Thank you Dr. Kristy, nurse Anna and front desk staff. Crossing my fingers that all ends well.

No staff came out to apologize for the delay or whether the doctor was even available. I don't want to be treated by a doctor who has a lack of respect of patients and staff who does personal calls and cannot properly check in patients.

12/17/2025 Happy holidays! Went a couple days ago to see Dr. Kristy for a pre-op appointment…read more She is a very sweet and patient doctor who was able to answer many of my questions about what to expect. She informed me that she would remove the joint on my third toe and try to stitch it up as best she could. Sadly removing the joint will leave my toe flapping. I was grossed out but...Hopefully it is better than a tiny blister looking bubble that doesn't subside. Guess when I go out in public I should wear covered footwear vs slippers or open sandals as needed. I was self conscious for anyone to see it especially my pedicure person. I had gone and showed both my doctor and dermatologist prior. My previous appointment Dr. Kristy suggested using a Kleenex and pressing on it... stayed the same. Last straw was when I went to the dentist, you prop your feet up. She always comments on my holiday nails and the assistant saw that bubble. Ugh. *** I am now Waiting on her front desk two ladies to get back to me with a surgery date and check in time for January 2026 since Monday. Dr. Kristy's regular surgery days are Fridays. I shared with the front desk ladies: The sooner in the month hopefully right after the New Year since need my toe to heal before the biggest trip of my entire life comes up in spring. I also met a pretty med student who entered the examining room. She introduced herself as Dr. Chun's daughter who I've seen before years ago. She said Dr. Kristy would be in shortly. Have a merry Christmas 2025

Medical care in Aiea, O'ahu, Hawaii…read more.. My aunty's Primary Care Physician referred her to Dr. Michael Chun, podiatrist. Faith was the friendly Medical Assistant who took the Medical History. No vital signs were needed. She thanked us for our patience since we waited for a while to be seen. Dr. Chun was very patient, gentle, and thorough. We found out that he graduated from Pearl City High School and went to San Francisco for college - that's why he's a Giants' fan... he has a lot of memorabilia in the waiting room's display case! I'd recommend Dr. Chun... he has a great personality, is knowledgeable and efficient, and has a fun sense of humor!
