I inquired with the nurses about pain medication but was told that they couldn't give me anything without an actual diagnosis when I was confused about why my husband elbowed me in the ribs and told me about junkies. It never occurred to me... They did recommend the heat/cold packs and OTC medications though, I thanked them but those hadn't been helping as I'd been trying them already. It took a total of three visits before I got a diagnosis, which was very frustrating. The first visit included the X-Ray, the second was the MRI only and the third was the conclusion with the doctor. I'd had inflammation, for an unknown reason as there was no actual injury, and then I got a steroid injection. I'm now 95% pain-free from not being able to move my dominant arm without severe pain going from the time I wake up to the time I finally fell asleep. I'd even wake up in the middle of the night because I'd moved wrong and it made the shoulder angry. Dr. Harris recommended a specific Physical Therapy office (Premier Rehab Physical Therapy, I chose the one in Keller) and thank goodness he did because I LOVE THEM. Hopefully by the end of my rehab I'll be back to where I should be. Only time will tell. Dr. Harris doesn't beat around the bush, he isn't in a hurry but he gets down to business. He explains things in a way that's easy to understand and gives a good expectation of what should happen. While I hope I don't ever need to see him again, I will go back and I will refer friends and family should they need him.

The nurse told me my previous records were gone as they switched to a different system called Athena (I believe medical record retention is 7 years, and my records were from 2023 and 2024). They did an xray of the wrong area today. I also forgot to mention that I heard the nurse complaining about me from the hallway, which is completely unprofessional. He said he doesn't see anything on the xray but offered a toradol injection because if it worked, i would have a couple months of pain relief. I have since learned that is impossible. It's only a few hours at best. I have no idea why, in the past few years Dr's have often told me things that make absolutely no sense, but i'm getting sick of not being able to rely on them for accurate information! It's appalling.

Recovery was not quick or easy, but I was nearly pain free for the first time in years. Several years later (2012) I had done enough further damage to add L1/L2/L3 to the list. Recovery was a bit quicker and again, pain free (except for a few days here and there. About a year ago my left knee was hurting--Dr. Myles did arthroscopic surgery and that knee is just about good as new (considering I am 69 years old, that is an accomplishment). Dr. Myles is my go-to for all things orthopedic. I have referred several friends and relatives to him. His practice has always gone above and beyond for me, and he is an incredible surgeon and an incredible man.
