Everything went very smoothly from start to end with Nissen and Associate. McKenzie, the office assistant, responded to my inquiry promptly. It was easy to set up an intake appointment with one of their tax preparers, Michelle. I dropped off my tax documents with Michelle. She emailed me with a couple of questions before finishing up my return. I swung by the office and signed a couple of documents to authorize them to file taxes on my behalf, and that's it! Painless! Because Michelle was able to give me a great discount, I paid significantly less than I paid H&R least year. I only interacted with McKenzie and Michelle, but they are both friendly yet professional. I loved that I never felt rushed or they never tried to upsell anything (like other companies I mentioned above). I highly recommend Nissen and Associates! My tax is pretty simple as I only have 1 job, 1 house/mortgage, and 1 child. As a matter of fact, Brian got it done in 15 minutes! As I was paying for the service at the front desk, the next client went into Brian's office. Yes, they have 15-minute time slots. This year, I paid $250 for my simple tax. So, if my math is right, it's $1,000 per hour! I know Brian doesn't get all of that, probably not even close to half of it, but it's still outrageous. Now I'm convinced I can find someone who can do my simple taxes next year for less. PRO TIP: There's no coupons available this year (Tax Year 2021) unless you're a new client.

While we had no problem with their work, they were quite expensive, almost $500. This seemed especially expensive considering that they had us fill out a 30 page tax organizer that basically had us do all the work for them, so all they had to do was plug in numbers from the organizer into the appropriate tax forms. We were also disappointed to find we were charged nearly $100 more than my parents (who also transferred to Stromberg and Co. from our previous CPA) despite us having significantly less complicated taxes than my parents. This year we tried a different CPA, who did equally good work as Stromberg and Co., but charged us 60% less and didn't have us fill out an organizer to do most of the work for them. We won't be going back to Stromberg and Co.
