Advent Calendar: I have to confess that I've had an Advent calendar every Christmas for most of my…read morelife and intend to keep getting one for every Christmas season to come. An Advent calendar is essentially a countdown to Christmas beginning on December 1st and lasting until December 24th. There are 24 numbered "doors" or "windows" to open. Behind each one is a piece of chocolate (usually Christmas themed). Popping the chocolate into my mouth each year instantly brings me back to the best Christmases of my childhood. Typically, I opt for a more Christmas themed image, but being the Star Wars fan that I am, I was gifted with a Grogu stylized one from The Mandalorian. This particular calendar is distributed in the U.S. by Galerie Candy, and I believe the chocolate is made by Jean-Talon Chocolate in Canada. My only minor complaint is it seems like a wasted opportunity to not make the chocolates into various shapes from the Star Wars universe (ships, characters, weapons), they are instead the same shapes found in other Jean-Talon Chocolate Advent calendars. Luckily, that means they also have the same great nostalgic taste and are Doughboy approved Doughboy_Food_Reviews

Pretty good. Had to find a local carniceria for carne asada. This place was just what I needed. The…read moremeat I got was good. There's a lot here you won't find in your local grocery stores. I'm from AZ so Mexican food is a must and I'm cooking it more at home now that I've moved here. The butcher was impatient and not super helpful but I got what I needed and the cashier was very sweet. I love the spice aisle. I'll definitely be back to browse those to make a good enchilada sauce. I wish they had a few more marinated meat options but overall I'm happy with the meat selection. I look forward to trying the others for tacos, burritos and anything else to curb my Mexican food addiction. The price was also decent for what you get. I'll be back real soon!

This place is a real gem hidden away for Mexican goodies and produce. I was elated when I found…read morethis place. I can get large jars of Valentina for $3 or less. 10 limes for a dollar. But watch out, at peak times certain things like avocados fly out the door fast. You can also find somewhat rare produce like chayote and more well known like cactus, cactus fruit, and Calamondin Limes (this time of year right now). I also love it because they have tons of cuts of meat and the fresh peppers are always cheap. Stop in and surprise yourself with good meat that's fresh and affordable and some other great finds. The only thing I was a little disappointed with, you can only buy a VERY large can of hominy (any kind) no small cans here. I'm speaking restaurant size. I love making pozole but even that may be too much for me. Though technically hominy freezes well and I could recan it into smaller portions. So I may go back and nab some up. I see they also do prepare food but haven't gotten any of that myself. So not sure how to order that, but I never spend more than 15 minutes in the grocery. Anyway, you won't be let down, it's a great find! Oh and to help you find it on dream street, it's across from Chipotle's. Which I do hear that particular Chipotle's isn't very good, just an FYI.

We went through the pumpkin field where almost every single pumpkin was rotting. Which took a longer than we expected since finding a non rotten pumpkin was like finding a needle in a haystack. When walking back to check out a young lady drove up to us on golf cart and kind of rudely said we are closing, my wife said alright is it ok if we go check out? the girl said yes. They close at 5pm it was 4:58. we walked to the stand to check out, there were people in front of us checking out as well. the second the clock hit 5:01 everyone working closed the register, put up the closed sign packed up their belongings. My wife asked if we could pay for our pumpkins, they said no we are closed. all the staff went back to the employees only area. I had a cart with four pumpkins waiting to check out, and my wife said well this is crazy I guess let's go they won't let us buy the pumpkins, so we started to walk to our car in utter disbelief with two very upset young children . The girl from the golf cart said to me "so you are just going to leave these pumpkins here ? I just said well I would prefer to buy them" she just stormed off with the cart and started angrily putting the pumpkins back. Is this a family owned farm because it seems more like angry unionized workers walking off the job site the second their scheduled shift is over. we go to a lot of farms and a lot of pumpkin patches and overwhelming get friendly farm wonderful service. this is worse service than an auto zone/ dollar store and any terrible corporate store that does not care about their customers. we have been here multiple times but sadly will never be back
