My son started going to the daycare 11/2013 until we moved away from the bay area. Leaving a daycare provider that was family orientated and I knew my son was in good hands was a hard choice, but we had to move. (if i could of packed Naastarn's daycare with me I would). the first interview with the provider the homes was totally kid friendly and no room was off limits, she had a visable board showing her certificates, degrees, inspections, food programs and past teaching job. I liked how this was out if the open there were so many places I looked at that I had to call community care to pull reports. Her house is set up as a school and very kid friendly. (to the guys that stated she never worked at Peter Pan, she has a classroom picture in her home and I callled to check) It is a family setting (her whole family is involved) and my son just loved her mom. I got pictures emails and viedos all throughout the days which reassured me my son was doing okay during his first days. during my sons time there he was very pushy and unfirendly with the help and guidence of the home he became a loving boy to his peers and sometimes even shared. He thrieved like I had never seen him in his past center. he would say the kids and Nastarans name then babble when he wasn't there. there was hands on learning and even potty training. If you are looking for a small provider, with a family feel where your child will be well feed, learning time with fun times where you know you can leave each day and know your child is in good hands this is the place to go. They really made myself and my family feel like family and not just another client. It saddens me as I write this that my son is no longer attending and I have to once again search for another provider but least from my experience at nastarans I know what I want in a daycare. read more

My son has been with Nastaran since he was just 3 months old and I couldn't be happier with the level of care and love that he gets there every day. As a working mother, putting your precious child in daycare is a very hard thing to do so it's not a decision that is taken lightly. I interviewed many different providers before I selected Nastaran and I'm so happy with my choice. She cooks fresh, organic, home cooked meals for the kids every day. They do daily activities and learning circle time. She often sends pictures of my son doing fun activities. My son is 16 months now and I couldn't imagine sending him anywhere else. As for the review by "Nancy G", her accusations are offensive and unfounded. Nastaran does have a very friendly and sweet little dog named Nemo. I think it's great that the kids are exposed to a pet. As to the religion accusations, that's just plain nonsense. Nastaran, her sister and her mother are all WONDERFUL daycare providers that LOVE the kids. What more could you ask for? I would be more than happy to answer any questions or provide any feedback to anyone who wants to message me. My daughter was to attend this Daycare for 2 days a week but unfortunately, I received a text message stating she would be unable to care for her because she was at max capacity. I RECEIVED THIS THE DAY BEFORE SHE WAS TO BEGIN HER FIRST DAY. Originally she told me that she only had one infant and my daughter would fill the second but it turns out she had two. First, the Daycare provider should know all guidelines regarding capacity. Second, how unprofessional to relay this information over a text message. Third, I gave a deposit to hold a spot that did not exist. I can only be grateful that this happened before she started instead of something worse happening down the road. Nastaran was an amazing child care provider! There were always a number of adults with the children at one time. I could tell from their interactions with my son that they genuinely cared for him as they showered him with love whenever I dropped him off or picked him up. There were always fun activities going on and the children all got along very well. I would recommend Nastaran and her family to anyone looking for a nurturing, supportive environment for their child. In response to some of the negative reviews below I totally disagree. I don't think the reviews are fake because I recognize some of the descriptions of the children who were in attendance with my son at the same time. Not to mention if you really thought their English was that bad do you think they could write those reviews themselves? I did not think there were any issues communicating when my son was in attendance with Nastaran. Yes, it is clear that English is a second language for them, but it didn't hinder the care they provided in any way. Nastaran also has several years of previous experience at a licensed preschool in, I think it was, Walnut Creek, on top of having an Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education from DVC and a Bachelor's Degree from her home country. Her mother (who is clearly not a "young 20 year old") also has plenty of experience raising her own children and the interactions she had with my son were always very touching. Nastaran's father was also often there when I picked up my son and he too was always caring and welcoming. The dog is a very small and easily controlled dog that you would expect in a home environment with children, which is what a Family Childcare is meant to be, a home environment. As for teaching the children Muslim values I also disagree because I didn't even know the staff were Muslim, and even if I did, although I am Catholic, I would not have a problem with the loving values of the Muslim religion being shared with my children, exposing them to the wide array of diversity in our world today. I flat out don't know what microwavable meals you are referring to her using either. She always had good, healthy meals when I arrived during lunch and snack times and they also used meal times to further expose the children to new experiences in food. Regarding the parent who had issues with the time slot being filled, I might point out that the ratios can be confusing as the licensing regulations change depending on the ages of the children. So I can understand why she might have been confused and I don't think that she would make the mistake again having had the issue she encountered with you. I stand by my praise of Nastaran's Childcare, they are a family centered care environment whose values I am glad my son was exposed to. read more

So this is my first time writing a review on Yelp but I just wanted to appreciate Ms. Nancy (that is what she let's me call her) and the whole family for the love and care they have shown my children and I have had a wonderful experience with them. Today was my son's last day but only because I was blessed to move into a nicer home in another county and as much as I loved my son going their my health would not allow me to drive so far and often to get him there. Ms. Nancy has always been understanding, patient, calm, respectful, flexible, and gracious with me. My son will be 4 in August (he is the black boy in most of the pics) and has been attending Nastaran Daycare since June 2013. Josiah is always excited to go and has never cried or complained about his experience there. When I drop in he was always playing happily. One of the things I really like about Ms. Nancy is that she sends me pics when I'm at work that would cheer my day.She is up-to-date with technology and responds to emails and text quickly. I am a working mom, and Ms. Nancy has seen how my hours changed but recently in the last 6 months I was promoted to a Parenting Manager position working to serve other parents and I know I could not have gotten this promotion if MS. Nancy was not a stable force in my kids life. She always supported my aspiration, And this matters when you are a working mom trying to better your kids life. I'm so proud of her for continuing her education and building a new preschool- I like that she is young and I admire her courage to beleive she can do this work. I wanted to add, Ms. Nancy has always been full when both of my children use to attend but I have noticed a decline in children and I think it has more to do with the instability of their parents not Ms. Nancy's care because Ms. Nancy does take subsized pay and private pay. I know daycare is expensive but she does great work and has fair market price for the quality she gives. I wish I could pay her more for the time she has spent with my son, to him its like family. My daughter went to Transtional kindergarten and is now 6 years old in Kindergarten. Ms. Nancy moslty specializes in infants and preschool age as my son always had children in his age group to play with. My daughter still loves picking up her brother cause she had so many great experiences at Ms. Nancy as well, and would ask to attend in the summer time. Ms. Nancy was nurturing to my son in the way I felt very safe and comfortable. I will still continue to use Ms. Nancy for drop in if she is not full and I'm ever near the Concord area. And I want to highly recommend her before she becomes full. If you can afford to pay she is worth it. My son will start a new daycare down the street from our new home on Monday but I looked around to several places before making a decision so I agree checking reviews are important but the best review is to trust your children, trust the smiles, and laughs. My son (4) has been going to Nastaran's daycare from around September 2013, and I love it there. Nastaran and her family all pitch in to take care of the kids, meaning there's a really strong adult-to-child ratio. And she's been great working with my son on his preschool work. (Nastaran is a former preschool teacher at Peter Pan, a local preschool.) Not only does he gets exposure to a loving family environment every day, but I also count their Persian heritage a plus. (Who doesn't like kebab? And foreign language exposure while kids are young is the best.) My son has been asked to leave several daycares due to a combination of highly sensitive temperament and recent dramatic family changes (leading to dramatic acting out), and I think the intimate and attentive environment have really helped him stabilize and blossom. I would highly recommend this daycare! (BTW: That reviewer that talks about the Muslim values and broken English? ...Wow. Don't believe everything you read. That's just plain prejudice.) read more

First of all, all of the previous reviews are fake. They happen to be filtered and all written on the same day by the babysitter herself. I would haver trust a young 20 year old and her sister to care for my children. They do not know fluent english and had a hard time answering my questions when I visited. Plus, they have had no prior experience. Childcare consists of only playing in the yard of their small home. Not to mention, they have a dog roaming around, which I wouldn't expose my baby to. One of my girlfriend's daughter was enrolled for a day and after the child came home she was taught Muslim values and how to pray. Yup, she never went back. All of the photos from ads on craigslist were taken from another childcare. Also, snacks and meals were all microwaved and processed from what she told me. BEWARE! read more

Best daycare EVER! She really is as good as it gets 5 stars. Nastaran is exceptional. She has a family business and she will treat your child as one of her own. The children are not sequestered to only one area of the house. She picks them up and kisses and hugs them, she plays with them, running around, dancing, and singing. She works with the unique nature of each child listening and observing carefully to what each child needs. If you breast feed/pump, she knows what to do. If you cloth diaper, she is cool with that. She makes delicious home cooked meals and introduces your child to new tastes. She buys organic milk and meat. Your children will play outside whenever possible . They will be loved and safe. It's like going to grandma's house every day and my son sometimes cries on the weekends or on vacations because he misses her. read more

Nastaran's Daycare was such a great experience for my shy 4-year old son who had never been to daycare before. The family was so nice and the ratio of adults to children is the best that I have seen since her mother and sister were always there to help out. The family home has a great atmosphere and wonderful yard. The rates are very reasonable. The communication is terrific: Nastaran would email me photos of the kids doing daily crafts, learning, and playing, multiple times throughout the day. She also was very prompt to respond to texts and emails - even at night after the kids had gone home! There was always a theme of the day and week, with pajama day being my son's favorite. There were a couple times that I was in a bind with a sick relative on my non-scheduled days at the daycare, and Nastran was able to allow my son to come on those off days without more than a couple hours notice. It was no problem at all. My son had issues with potty-training before going to Nastarn's daycare, but after one month there, he was 100% trained by them! They were so patient and helpful. My son will never forget his experience at her daycare and still talks about it often. If only he weren't in school now, or I would continue to have him at Nastaran's. read more
