I cannot express enough gratitude for the exceptional care provided by Ms. Risa at her in-home…read moredaycare. From the moment we stepped through the door, it was evident that this was not just a daycare, but a loving and nurturing environment for children. We have been with Ms. Risa for over a year and my kids have learned so much and have had great interactions with the other kids. She is diligent on working with the older kids on their school work. She was a teacher before taking on running a day care which shows. What sets this daycare apart is the genuine affection and attention Ms. Risa showers upon each child. It's heartwarming to see the bond she's formed with my little ones, providing not just care, but also emotional support and encouragement. My children have flourished under Ms. Risa's guidance, and I am forever grateful for the positive impact she's had on our family.

They do the cutest crafts; and my daughter has learned so much. Risa is really good with communicating any concerns or questions, and even sends pictures. I know every morning, when I drop my daughter off, that she is in good hands. She tells me all the time that she wants to see her friends and "my Risa". I knew as soon as we walked through her front door two years ago, that this was it.

Before you decided to enroll you kiddos here you might want to make sure they meet the public…read moreschool or whatever school you plan on enrolling them in cut off dates for kindergarten & 1st grade. She will tell you that she keeps them thought Kindergarten & they will transition into 1st grade. Well, this is only true if you kiddo has a DOB that's before September 1st. If it's anytime after they will have to enroll as a kindergartner. Also kindergarten is not a requirement! Once they turn 6yrs of age they must be enrolled somewhere and the school district should have record of this. Pearlite isn't registered under the school district. It's License as a in home daycare ONLY. Do yourself a favor and enroll your kids in either a T-K program or Kindergarten. Plus all of the curriculum is old & out dated! She isn't t current on what kids are learning today, not much STEM going on more ABC's and lots of geography & songs back when people owned slaves!

A long long pending review…read more.. A big big Thank-you to miss Indira and her team for having a day care which is a Awe-some... she is such a humble and a positive person.... As my daughter turned 1 yr old, we started sending her to a different day care and for that entire one year she cried not even a single day missed. And the answer from that day care I use to rec was she will get use to it.. it was heartbreaking every time I use to drop off my daughter.. As soon as my daughter turned two, I started searching for a new day care.. and lucky me, my stars were shining and I landed in Pearlite house of children day care... had an initial talk with Miss Indira and the day one my daughter was smiling and giggling with her.. It was such a relief... Now at the age of 4, my daughter still goes to Miss Indira and everyday is a learning/ playing day for her.. Miss Indira take cares of her each day care kid as her own kid.. Everyday she communicates every single activity of the kid verbally to each parent.. she is such a owesome teacher.. and does her job with core heart.. Even though we haven't decided on our next kid but next daycare is final already.. Thank you So much Miss INdira!

My Honest Review of La Petite Academy (April 2024 - Present)…read more My son has been enrolled at La Petite Academy since April 8, 2024, starting in the two-year-old classroom with Miss Sarah (lead teacher) and Miss Aaliyah (associate teacher). As a first-time parent, I spent a minimum of two hours daily in his classroom during the first six months learning, observing, and building trust. Miss Sarah was an intentional and passionate teacher. Her curriculum was thoughtful, and the children responded positively to her. Miss Kim, another seasoned educator in the room, also had a calming, nurturing effect on the children. Unfortunately, after just a few months, Miss Sarah resigned, telling me directly that she had repeatedly asked the director, Miss Lorna (who's been there 20+ years), for basic materials but received no support. Miss Lorna made excuses, including blaming "porch pirates" for missing supplies. I even suggested Amazon lockers, but nothing changed. Without enough toys or learning tools, chaos broke out. Children fought over the few items available, especially in the twos classroom. I overheard Miss Chloe, the 3's teacher, say it felt like "The Hunger Games" in there--a disturbing but unfortunately accurate description. Two-year-olds don't understand sharing yet; they need structure, redirection, and materials none of which were consistently provided. The school has been severely understaffed since 2024. "Floaters" like Miss Nadira, though credentialed, mostly change diapers and shout at children ("Go sit down!") instead of providing constructive redirection. I've witnessed multiple instances where teachers lacked basic understanding of early childhood development, especially in social and emotional domains. One teacher, Miss Ariana, even said aloud in front of children and me, "Ugh, I hate being in here." When I reported it, no follow-up was communicated. Ariana eventually left, (not because of that particular incident) like many others. Ratios are often maxed out--or over. I was told the ratio is 12:1, but I've personally counted 13 or 14 children per adult at times. Poor Crisis Management and No Real Training The school tends to call parents instead of handling challenges. For example, YESTERDAY May 2, 2025 I dropped my son off at 9:13 AM. By 9:34 AM, I was being told to get him (I was in the 2's classroom at the moment) because he took a ball (brought by another child--against school policy) and threw it. When I asked if he was offered an alternative toy, the teacher said no. There were 12 kids and just one ball--of course there was conflict! They're three! They need consistent, modeled behavior and repetition, not punishment. My Education Changed My Perspective In January 2025, I enrolled at Los Medanos College (LMC) to pursue early childhood education. Through courses like Principles and Practices, Introduction to Curriculum, and Child Development, I've learned what quality childcare should look like, and sadly, La Petite isn't meeting those standards. I finished my first semester with a GPA of 3.50 and STRONG positive feedback from all my professors. When I asked about the school's teaching philosophy, I was told it was STEM-based. I have yet to see any meaningful implementation of STEM learning no sensory tables, no interactive stations, no science or math play except for one butterfly project, which I personally initiated for my class assignments. Only then did the school bring in live caterpillars. Basic Needs Aren't Met There are often missing or incorrect diaper sizes, leading to rashes. Toys are broken, chewed up, or missing altogether. There is no quiet space for children to calm down. One child who had just transitioned from the infant room couldn't stop crying, and when the infant teacher suggested picking him up, the twos teacher replied, "Absolutely not." That alone speaks volumes about the emotional disconnect and lack of training. I've reached out to Rosa Silva Tichauer who is the District Manager. I've brought up different situations and circumstances with NO feedback or real changes! Final Straw During midterms at LMC, I dropped my son off at 9:30 AM. By 9:50, I was getting a call to come pick him up. Instead of support and guidance, the default was removal. I had a heart-to-heart with Miss Lorna that day. With both of us teary-eyed, she looked me in the face and said, "La Petite is a for-profit company." That explained a lot. They always remember to collect payments, but not to meet children's developmental needs. Final Thoughts I stayed as long as I did hoping things would improve--and because I was present so often. But after a full year, I've realized this center lacks the foundation and leadership needed to nurture young children. If you're considering La Petite for your toddler, I urge you to visit in person and take a DEEP DEEP LOOK, ask questions, observe the environment, and trust your gut. LOOK ELSEWHERE

Absolutely Exceptional - More Than Just a School…read more Year after year, this Montessori school continues to amaze our family. It is rare to find a place that balances rigorous academic excellence with such a genuine focus on character development and respect. We have watched our youngest (now 4) blossom here over the last two years. The growth in his education level is nothing short of outstanding--he is learning concepts I wouldn't have expected at his age, yet he is doing it with joy and curiosity. But beyond the academics, what impresses me most is the school's commitment to constantly bringing in new activities and enhancing the learning environment. They never settle; they are always finding ways to be better. A few amazing days of the year for you and the family: All the Holidays - The school ensures we celebrate holidays from across all cultures and life. Fathers' Night: An amazing way to connect their children with their fathers. One of the best moments I look forward to every year. I Mother Tea Time: Another amazing experience for the children to spend some quality academic and fun time with their moms. This standard of excellence isn't limited to just one teacher; it is consistent across the board. Every staff member, at every level, cares deeply about these children. If you are looking for a place that will truly invest in your child's future, this is it. We couldn't be happier.
