"Expect the Unexpected" - this probably applies to many places in NYC that are hidden treasures, truly. The ones that not discovered by many, but are neighborhood gems that make us fall in love with the city all over again. One of those treasures in Narrows Botanical Garden. It's a tiny stretch of green between busy Belt and lazy Shore Road, transformed into oasis by volunteers. It's a quiet place to spend a sunny afternoon at, watch the birds and butterflies (and turtles!!). Shimmering waters of the Bay and Verrazano can be seen in a distance, benches are clean and grass is lovely. Stroll around to see the native plants, or enjoy watching bees and butterfly houses, the quiet simplicity of zen garden or murmur of alpine mini-fountains... This is a sanctuary. For us, for plants, for local wild life - a beautiful retreat for everyone. Keep it safe and enjoy it.

Awesome hidden gem In Bay Ridge that I dont want other people to know about Lol. You know the more people who hear about this place. Then they will ruin this sweet little garden which is so peaceful and serene. I usually come by early in the afternoon on my daily exercise and enjoy the breeze and birds abounding in this garden. I am a big fan of meditation and this place is perfect. The only noise barely noticeable is the cars on the Belt Pkwy only yards away. Also on the perimeter is a gold fish pond which is quite cute. Looks like they took one of the old sand boxes. You know the ones that parks used to have back in the 70's oh wait. Guess all these millenials have no clue what I am talking about. Great place for relaxation or a sun tan. Cause there are always people toasting on the lawns here.

We live close by and stop in regularly. People in charge really care about the garden. Very friendly

I love this park, always have ever since I was a child. Does anyone know if they spray their grass and flowers with pesticides ?

It looks like it has been abandoned, like no one is taking care of it. But you can still appreciate the view on Manhattan
