Best pizza ever. As good if not better than the Lantieris from the old Front St., in Hartford, Ct. Great people to work for.

I had heard great things about this bakery and thought they would be perfect for my friend's baby…read moreshower, but my experience was incredibly disappointing from start to finish. Trying to place an order well in advance was a nightmare. On three separate occasions, I was given different excuses: "You don't need to place it this far in advance," "The person who takes orders isn't here," and "We'll have someone call you back." Unfortunately, no one ever followed up. I was eventually able to place my order just a few days before the shower. On the day of the event, I went to pick up the order, only to be told they didn't have it. After some back-and-forth, they admitted they had forgotten to put the order in. As a solution, they offered full-size cannolis instead of the mini ones I had ordered, at the same price. While the situation was frustrating, I accepted this as a reasonable compromise given the circumstances. However, when I arrived at the venue and opened the boxes, I discovered that the cannoli's they promised were missing. I immediately called to address the issue, but the staff was rude and unhelpful. The only resolution they offered was a small gift card, which did not make up for the inconvenience or the impact on the event. Overall, this was a very frustrating experience, and I cannot recommend this bakery based on their poor communication, lack of organization, and inadequate customer service.

What I had never done before was order online abd go to the store to pickup until last night. Well...it was a cluster f&$k!!!!! I ordered online Saturday evening around 7:30 because we are going somewhere Sunday and they are closed. I waited about 1/2,hour and headed to the store. I not a notification on my phone to "checkin" when I arrived so I parked and checked in from my phone. As I approached the store I was surprised to see a very long line inside of people waiting. But I ordered online a while ago so I won't have to wait, right? WRONG! This is not like Jersey Mikes (or most other food places) where you order online and they start making your food. Apparently at Crumbl, you don't get a spot in line until you checkin! So I had to wait some 20 minutes for 6 cookies I ordered 45 minutes ago. HORRIBLE! Defeats ordering ahead !! They need a radio button in APP: 1. Prepare now or 2. I want them fresh prepare when I checkin. Mine were for next day so whether they boxed them at 7:30 (and had them ready!) or 8:00 when I arrived makes no difference as they're for next day. End of world? NO! But customer experience? You have an awesome APP and "fun" is what you're about - you should have takeout orders ready no one wants to wait!! They did make an announcement when I arrived that they fell behind due to current special. The line moved well but I didn't like that customers who ordered right before I walked in were ahead of me in line even though I ordered 30 minutes ago (and paid!). Great, fun cookies in a cool atmosphere however. EDIT: I got a nice note from the store. But they miss the point. It doesn't matter what the customer wants they are obsessed with "fresh boxing" (even if customer wants them for next day and temp doesn't matter). They showed me during this visit they can't come close to keeping up when they're busy, so be prepared to wait. "We do it our way screw how that inconveniences our customers". All I suggested was an option - box now or wait til I get to the store. Keep everyone happy!!

"I walked in, the baker said everything was sold I found out…read moreshe saved me some sweet jelly roll Yes, the baker shop boogie" (Willie Nix) Since we're friends, let me ask you a personal question--so tell me this: what's your official dessert policy? Are you a "dessert is a human right" kind of person who enjoys something sweet every night after dinner? Do you ceremoniously pair your evening coffee with a treat like it's a sacred ritual? Or are you more of a free range snacker who grazes on cookies and pastries whenever the mood strikes? At our place, we've somehow drifted into the habit of having a bakery item most nights. Could be a cookie. Could be a pastry. Could be a slice of something. All this brings me to yesterday's visit to the Hartford Baking Company in South Windsor, where we are now pretty well stocked for a week's worth of upcoming desserts, and maybe a breakfast or two. They have four locations in the Greater Hartford area, all selling the same amazing product line of bread, ciabatta, and rolls. But for the sweet tooth fiends out there, well get psyched for their scones, muffins, Walnut Coffee Cake, Financiers (a French almond cookie), brownies and bars, cookies, biscotti, shortbreads, Danish, Cinnamon buns, Pecan-Walnut Sticky Buns, Brioche Pastries, fruit tarts, and quiches. We were running errands in South Windsor yesterday, popped into Hartford Baking, and walked out with a bounty of wonderful looking goodies- brownies, a croissant, a chocolate banana muffin, a rectangular Financier, and a slice of coffee cake. We should be set for a while in the dessert department. I had the Financier last night, and never having heard of the word before, I consulted the old Google machine for some research and found a very cool origin-story. In the late 1800's there was a pastry shop located near the Paris Stock Exchange. The shop sold very popular small almond cakes that were baked in small rectangular molds resembling gold bars. They were a hit with the busy bankers who frequented his shop. The name "financier" stuck because of both the clientele and the gold bar shape. I have to tell ya, that Financier was amazing. It was dense and delicious and overflowing with almond flavor. I loved it. I also had a teense of the Banana Muffin this morning, and it was excellent as well. Loved that banana flavor and those chocolate chips. OK, so file away "Hartford Bakery" on your short list of "must visit" dessert destinations, because I assure you that you'll walk out a satisfied customer.

Quick service, good quality food and coffee…read more Was trying to go to a new place that just opened up. They were not open, so came here for my breakfast. Inside is nice and spacious. Staff was nice but were in the midst of conversation when I approached the register. They quickly took my order then went directly back into conversation. Felt like fast food service, more a number than a guest. Food came out quick. Had to stage my pics a bit but easy enough. The double chocolate latte was chocolaty and creamy. Coffee was strong enough to punch through the sweet and was well balanced as a drink. The sandwich was plentiful on the pulled pork and the egg was cooked well. Bun was soft and buttery but not pillowy. Which is good because you want a breakfast sandwich to be structural enough to hold its shape after each bite. Price was about 20 for the sandwich and latte, which isn't too bad for the quality you get. Much better than your fast food chains, even if you get the same service. A great quick stop location, worth a try but not a trek.
