They fine-tuned the design to our liking, helped us understand what could work in the environment and got it installed on time! They charged $250 for the initial consultation which was in line with what other landscapers charged. Jay has many years of experience in the field, something that he highlights frequently through numerous stories of past projects. During the consultation, we were upfront about our budget (around $50k) and showed him estimates we had received from other landscapers that came in well under that ($25k - $30k). While we figured Green Jay Landscaping would cost more, their years of experience persuaded us to pay them $2400 to work up a site plan proposal (just a proposal, no drawings for the village planning boards or building department). What they delivered weeks later was a poster board with some printouts of plants. Jay told us how many people (engineers, architects, etc) were working on our project and how he's consulted with the building department in order to figure out what could be done. While all this sounded very comprehensive and impressive, at the end of the day we only had the start of a landscaping plan (basically the plants they would use) and nothing more. A few more weeks of pestering Jay for a proposal and a cost estimate to build the wall, I receive a text from him stating that it would cost $140k to build our wall which is almost triple our budget and 4x the amount of other estimates (in all fairness, Jay was proposing something much larger and grander than what other landscapers had proposed). Still, this estimate was delivered via a text with no explanation. After expressing my dissatisfaction, Jay did return to give a fuller explanation in person and to propose a much more scaled down project. What Jay proposed did sound more reasonable but he wanted another $800 to develop the proposal for this scaled down project (he explained that we had used up our $2400 due to the number of hours they spent consulting engineers and others for our original project). While I believe Jay tried to develop a proposal for a project that in the end would make us exceptionally happy, he failed to deliver anything of value for the $2650 total we spent. Given Jay's extensive experience, I would have expected him to tell us fairly quickly what would be possible within our budget. In other words, Jay should not have needed to spend $2400 consulting engineers and others to figure out that the original idea for the location of the retaining wall was not within our $50k budget.

He also gave me welcome advice on some less than healthy bushes on the property. In addition to the excellent work, Omar is extremely professional, a gentleman, and absolute pleasure to talk to and deal with. It shakes my house whether they're next door, across the street, or even further away. They don't care if it's 7 am and they will start earlier than 8 am on weekends too. They make living in this extremely high property taxed neighborhood a nightmare.

They want to grow old in place and it is a tremendous relief to know they are not doing this manual labor on their own. If it wasn't done to their satisfaction, I fear the folks would be out there doing it themselves. It is so nice to know they are in such good hands. From the initial quote to the final sweep, he and his team were professional, communicative, and incredibly efficient. They handled the entire process, including the difficult excavation of the old driveway, with expertise; we were particularly impressed with how quickly they finished the job despite unforseen complications arising with there being a huge, thick layer of cement underneath the multiple layers of black tar. The new paved driveway is flawless--the edges are clean, the surface is perfectly smooth, and it looks better than we could have imagined. It's a massive upgrade to our home's curb appeal. We agreed on date for someone to come and look at the work. A blonde haired woman came and we walked the property together and I pointed out my concerns. This woman took notes and said that someone would come back out and come up with an estimate. We understood that the next walk through could be done by her and her associate without my presence. More than a week later, and we haven't heard from or spoke with anyone regarding our concerns. I can't imagine how a business does business when this is how they deal with customers on day one. Apparently my money is different and they don't want it. Perhaps they have some beliefs or views which precludes their ability to work for me; and at this point I don't have to go figure out what that is. Don't be different and maybe they'll work for you (1 star by default no room for a big fat zero.

It was about two years of disappointing lawns and finally I let him go. So last year I started using them and they do excellent work. They always show up on the day they promise the work is excellent. But early spring this year I was also a little unhappy with sav-a-lawn so I gave them the fertilizer and seeding as well as landscape and Maintenace. Well I have to say they really impressed me. I should have switched sooner. Lawn is so green. No patches or weeds. They also do a great job with the blowing weed whacking. Very happy. My wife and I were taking today how great the lawn looks. Best lawn we've had since 2009.

E-mails and phone calls back and forth with CTM for over a month for one large job and one smaller…read morejob. The smaller job - Spring clean up was wonderful. They did not show up on the scheduled day as agreed but nevertheless the yard was the cleanest I've ever seen it given the other landscaping companies I've used over the years. The second, larger job was to install drainage pipes to address an ongoing water and flooding issues. After a total of three visits, I received an explanation of exactly what would be done and the cost (which was higher than verbally stated on one of the previous visits). For the amount of work that had to be done, I believed the price was fair. I asked for a written estimate which I still have not received either with the original quote or amended amount. Having been a homeowner for 30+ years I am aware of all the various terms and how vendors like to be paid. After agreeing to the price and a start date - no one from the company came on that date or called to reschedule. I will now look for a more reliable, communicative company with which to do business. I have always tried to give independent vendors my business as they generally do a better job that larger companies...but I'm done with CTM.
