Norman is the kind of handyman you need to bookmark/add to speed dial/put in your rolodex/or…read morewhatever it is kids do nowadays. He cuts through the BS to tell you how it really is, in a professional and informative way. You won't feel like you're being sold to. Instead, you'll feel like he's that handyman uncle that knows everything about taking care of a house, and can talk you through exactly what you need. In our case, he talked himself out of a job. He assessed what we thought was potential interior damage from a 2nd floor water leak onto a 1st floor ceiling, explained what we were dealing with, gave me enough information so I could further research our situation on my own, and assured me that we didn't need the repairs we thought we needed. What kind of person talks themselves out of a job? Someone that you can trust. That's the kind of quality handyman Norman is. We'll definitely call him for any future home issues.

I ask Norman if he could help out and a couple hours later he called me up and told me that he had called Insinkerator and talked to a technician that walked him through several tips. Some I could try without him coming out and would I mind trying them? Sure enough we were able to resolve it without him coming out! Thank you so much Norman!

After an initial Yelp quote request to a total of 5 businesses, my husband and I hired Michael to…read morefix a leaking faucet in our cellar. He was the very first to respond to our request with an actual estimate --- when I also supplied multiple photos -- while 3 others wanted to first evaluate in person with an additional appointment, and last 1 said they did not actually fix leaking faucets despite that being listed on their business profile. My husband and I asked Michael after his initial very fair estimate if he perhaps could also fix some other issues for us at an additional cost -- a loose house siding board inside our light well, and two loose plumbing bits, a kitchen faucet and a bathroom sink hot water handle. He thought it best to come out for the initial cellar sink fix, and then evaluate the other 3 tasks in person, which seemed very reasonable. He made quick work of the cellar faucet, handily fixing our amateur attempted earlier repair into a straightened and 100% water-tight fix. Then he climbed into our awkward light well, only accessible through a waist-height open window, jacked up a ladder, inspected the siding and determined the loose board was luckily only a cosmetic cover for the original 1905 redwood siding, reattached the loose board and caulked the edges for good measure. Then he promptly fixed our loose kitchen faucet and wobbly bathroom hot water handle. I cannot recommend him enough -- 5 stars all around -- on time, friendly, thorough, gung-ho for awkward work fixes like our light well, and very fair pricing. I almost want more stuff to break in this old house to hire him again. Two definite thumbs up!

After the technician installed our kitchen faucet ,we realized that the manufacturer sent us the wrong product. Handlify came back again to install the correct faucet. Denny did a great job replacing wood rot underneath my home office window. He gave me an estimate…read morejust by looking at a photo of the rot. He was at my house the next day spent most of the day replacing and perfecting the wood so it matched the surrounding frame - really cared about doing a good job. And the cost was reasonable. As far as United Pro Handyman Service, pleasantly surprised that they got back to me the very day I called them about my job. I can't say that about other handyman services on Yelp. I will definitely be using their service again and will recommend them to others.

Long overdue review! We hired United Pro Handyman (led by Ilya) in January 2024 for a remodel,…read moreincluding relocating an entry door, adding a partition wall, closing off a fireplace, removing built-ins, interior painting, and exterior stucco work. Unfortunately, our experience was extremely disappointing. The main issue arose with the exterior stucco work, which began cracking within days. Ilya sent his guy to fix the problem and his guy just applied another layer of stucco to cover the cracks! After one week, the cracks became evident and had worsened. My husband and I have decided to go with a different contractor to fix this issue. I had informed ILya about this and he initially agreed to reimburse us for a stucco patch. During this time, we decided to legalize the remodel. From the city inspection, we found out that the problem wasn't just superficial--underneath the stucco, we discovered improper waterproofing, incorrect lathing, and screws that did not comply with California code. This oversight could have led to much larger structural issues in the future. When I explained that this was not simply a patch job but required a complete redo of waterproofing, lathing, and screw replacements, Ilya became unresponsive. Alex, the manager, visited our site multiple times during the project in January and even guaranteed a one-year warranty, promising to provide a formal contract after we made full payment. Despite repeated follow-ups with Andrei, the estimator, we never received that contract. If you're considering United Pro Handyman, I strongly advise you to demand a binding quote or contract that includes all warranties before making any down payment. Be cautious of their "choice" between a 10% discount but you pay for the materials or no discount but they will shoulder the cost of materials--insist that they cover materials, especially for larger projects. They purchased unnecessary items, including insulation pads that were never used, resulting in a complete waste of money. As of today, our newly stucco wall is now ready to be painted. We passed all inspections and it feels so good to know everything was done correctly. We regret our decision to work with United Pro Handyman and recommend others proceed with extreme caution.
