This review will be short and sweet. Nap's is kind of expensive, but it works in a pinch. They have the best beer selection in town with a walk in cooler you can go into and browse. They have the best donuts in town, and their deli is pretty darned good. I go here from time to time when I want a good donut, or don't want to drive across town for the other two grocery stores we have. Don't count this place out, and definitely come for the donuts! read more

Pleasantly surprised to find non alcoholic beer in their walk In cooler since we don't drink alcohol but my husband loves a non alcohol beer while working around the house. So glad to find a close local store has it. read more

I was trying to get help with the return bottle area of the store and it wasn't working so I went inside and the guy came out to help but there was another boy there so I let him go ahead of me he said he only had five bottles well he helped him and then told me it was his lunch break that he couldn't help me Then I go inside to get help and everybody's staring at me like I'm some alien asking for help really do better That's all I got to say thriftway do better! Picture it: it was the winter of 2021, we were snowed in for two days and in dire need of snacks and human interaction. We trekked our way through the icy streets of Newberg not even knowing if Naps was staffed due to the weather. Luckily, we were met with smiling faces, a fully stocked store, and all the winter essentials we were in need of! But in all seriousness, I've lived in Newberg for 3 years now, it's been a staple in my family the whole time. Great staff and an awesome selection of local and brand name products. I can not say enough good things about this place! The customer service is so good, the lottery tickets and keno are affordable and so much fun, the food is so good and affordable, there is such a large variety of different product, and there is an older gentleman who is there all day every day playing keno but when his wife was still alive they would play keno everyday until it was around 9:00 pm or sometimes 5:00 pm when they had plans but this great man (my great grandfather AKA Larry Jones) has kept his wife's and his tradition going. I just love this place and how it went from a little store to the perfect size for me to spend all summer drinking bubble gum Jones soda and reading Mad magazine. read more

Nap's is within walking distance of my house. I will stop by when I need a couple items, but do my primary shopping elsewhere. The selection is decent, and usually I can find almost everything on my list. There is a large Mexican food selection. Overall I am a fan. I would shop here more if they had a butcher/seafood case instead of everything just being wrapped in styrofoam and plastic. read more

I live walking distance away and spend money here on most days. I have a good repour with most employees and they usually recognize my boyfriend and I. They're all cool people and very friendly. But beware of the manager. I have had several bad experiences with him. The first time I met him was because I found a box of donuts from the bakery that someone had left on the shelf so I handed them to him because I thought I was helping. He then questioned his staff very conspicuously if they had seen me in the bakery... They didn't. Then he offered me a job because he thought I was a teen? I kindly declined because I had one but told him my boyfriend needed one. His aditude switched up and it ended there with a "tell him to apply" Another night, we were feeling snackish so we walked to Naps to make some impulse buys as we often did. It was the middle of the night so I thought it would be a good training moment to tie my dog outside since there were nearly no customers around. I had done this plenty of times before with no complaints. She was still a pup and barked sometimes which we were working on. I tried to make it fast and had a good amount of snacks after 15 minutes. I said to my bf "maybe we should have some wine tonight" so we decided to have a quick look at the selection. I was looking at a bottle for 5 seconds when the manager yelled at us because our dog had barked. My bf got defensive since he could see how flabbergasted I was for being talked to so disrespectfully. The Manager then implied we were thieves and didn't believe we had intention of buying wine or thought we weren't old enough to? The manager got right in his face standing 1 inch away from him. They looked like they were about to fight. I was mortified. I had no idea he felt this way about us before since we spend a lot of money there and consequently a good amount of time as well. I'm not sure what I said but I choked on my words and walked out crying as I left the products that were in my hands by a cash register where an employee stood. My boyfriend had to come outside and talk me down. He went in alone to buy the stuff and I had a hard time coming back after that. One of my favorite employees was there that night and Im sure she thinks I'm a thief now. Because I'm Latina, if I'm dressed a certain way I try to make it very obvious that I'm not stealing and I've never stolen before. I notice how people look at me in a store and this is my worst fear in reality. I also come at night because every person that walks past my dog tries to pet her or feed her which leads to bad behavior. Because she's a pit bull he took one look at her and told us to leave because she would "scare away his customers" ... at 3am. I feel conflicted about giving them anymore business after that. The only time I would go for a long time was when I absolutely had to but it's been over a year and he leaves me alone for now. Obviously I'm still salty about it all. I just feel the whole situation could have been avoided if he was respectful like all of his employees have been. I don't bring my dog there anymore when I can help it even though she gets complimented all the time on how well trained she is and I walk every where else unleashed without problems. read more

I love the donuts from here, order them fresh though. Their donut case is plagued with flies. I walked in one morning like 9am craving a maple bar, there was minimum like 4-5 in there. I asked the baker if they can make me some fresh ones. She said "why", I said "because your donut case is infested with flies". She said "too bad, that's a never ending battle". So I took that as I can either have the ones in the case or none. I walked out. That was horrible service. And a major health code violation. read more

Naps, you are located near my work. I snack frequently. You could earn a lot of $ from my visits. I would like to come in your door frequently for a morning juice. Or an afternoon cookie. You have a nice bakery, and deli, and large wine and flower selection. But why are you so expensive? All of your items cost significantly more than almost any other store. Please lower your prices. I usually shop at the Wilsonville or Lake Oswego Thriftways but decided since I was driving by to stop in here. The first thing that hit me was the overwhelming smell from the bottle collection area and the shady characters hanging out in the parking lot. I was glad to have the employee escort me to my car to help with the bags but for the reason that the parking lot does not feel safe to a woman at night. The produce section is an embarrassment in terms of selection and freshness. All in all some money needs to be invested to make this store an attractive place to shop. read more

This store is overpriced, dirty and old. I bough a sandwich from the deli that had mold. Sandra, one of their cashiers is one of the rudest people I have encountered in a grocery store. The produce, especially the bananas, are often bad. Check the dates before you buy. We have purchased meat that was to expire within 24 hours. Same with the milk. I have gotten ill from the deli cooked food. The parking lot smells like vomit on hot days due to their can return. Do yourself a favor and visit Safeway. Much newer and cleaner. I desperately needed a heart shaped layered cake for a birthday party and it was last minute. I had called Fred Meyers and they said no way. When I called Nap's they said no problem! When I picked it up the next day I was happy to say the cake was exactly what I wanted and beautifully decorated! At that point I didn't care what it tasted like but was again happily surprised that it tasted great! I've had grocery store cakes that the icing leaves a coating in your mouth but this didn't and the cake was very moist. I will use them again, and next time plan ahead. read more

Open 24 hours, Naps offers foods not found at other supermarkets, and they will special-order foods requested. I have not found the prices at Nap's to be more expensive than other supermarkets, but that's just me. The owner is super-friendly and works a lot with the customers as a cashier. He always jokes around with my husband and provides great customer service. The staff must like working there because many have worked there for as long as I can remember. read more

I have shopped at Thriftway more than a dozen times in the last year. Each time I question myself and regret stopping to shop there vs driving to the other side of town to Freddy's. I have not found one employee who is friendly and aware of the customers. No one looking around to help you, you have to go wait forever then ask simple questions. There is rarely a smile on anyone's faces and worst of all - they are so judgemental towards my disabled son and his service dog each time we go in that my son is always in tears on the way home. After shopping there this Tuesday evening and running into a severely rude and judgemental cashier who stared at my son and then spoke to us in a condescending tone - I have decided we WILL NOT be shopping there ever again. I DO NOT recommend this store for anyone handicapped or with special needs as I do not see them making an effort to be polite let alone helpful towards anyone in our type of situation. read more
