Support this local business and get the green olives and the ham. The ham is finely chopped (unique in my experience) and for some reason that just makes it taste better. While I do consider myself a part of that subset, I prefer pizzas that use 00 flour and have crispy, aerated crusts with good bubble formation that has a slight chew to it, similar to ones fired in true brick ovens or commercial pizza ovens. For that reason, Nicky's was just okay for the price that it was. I probably wouldn't order from Nicky's again because there are so many other places like Tascio's or Northeast.

The first time I had it, it was amazing ! It had an amazing drizzle that has a little spice, tomatoes, ricotta cheese, garlic and topped with a generous amount of arugula. I went to the Independence location to hang out with family and picked us up some food. I went in and placed my order. While I waited for the food I went to the bar. The staff was very friendly and told me about their happy hour drinks. I chose my go to though, tequila on the rocks. It was a nice pour and reasonable price. Once I got to my family's, I was so excited to dig in but I was so disappointed when I didn't see any arugula on my pizza. I called to see what happened. I was so sad to learn that the Independence location does not put arugula on their pizza. My pizza was still good but it was not good as I could have been. I now know for next time that I need to go to another location if I want arugula.

Liked the menu, especially the well priced options to add toppings. All pizza places have such options, but liked Southside's menu structure & organization. Ordered a large pepperoni pizza with different extra toppings on the two sides to try a variety of offerings. It arrived by Door Dash 45min later. It was still hot and the extra cheeses were melted. The crust was favorable with a nice chew. The pepperoni was evenly spread & was good tasting. Each of the added toppings were also good. Between the extra mozzarella & extra provolone cheeses, liked the provolone better. All in all, liked the pizza. After trying them couple more times, Southside may get up to 5 stars.

They have premade pizzas that they cut into big generous slices, and those slices are warmed up in their giant pizza oven before they're boxed up to go. So you can order pizza by the slice, or have them make you your own pizza. One thing that's awesome is that you can choose thick crust or hand tossed crust, and standard toppings, and you don't need to have 2 slices of the same thing! I like both of their crusts equally, so I will often get a thin crust and a thick crust, both with Canadian bacon and pineapple. They have Pepsi products on tap and it's about $10 for two slices of pizza, hot and fresh and a large diet Pepsi. They have amazing salads. What's great about it is that you can take it to go and eat half for lunch and have half later. They are gigantic again. All of the food is fresh.
