Hearing that these were the only pickleball courts on the island we decided to go and get a little exercise. The website advertised they had 4 lined hard court pickleball courts available for play (and 6 clay tennis courts). We get there and the place looks like a bomb went off. There was only one court available. Every other pickleball court was in a state of mid-construction (with no workers present ever) There were also only 2 clay courts available for tennis and both were in use. We had to wait about 45 minutes to get in a game as there were 14 other people there to play. While waiting we chatted up a few of the regular members who laughed when we asked when this was supposed to be done as the sign on the door indicated that this would be done by the end of August. After the uproarious laughter people informed me that the workers hadn't even been on site in the last 2-3 weeks. They also said that the local members don't even have to pay right now on their memberships due to the lack of available play/conditions of the court. Nice to know that while they won't charge members to play on these dilapidated courts, that they will still make a family of visitors to this "island paradise" pay full price to sit in 100 heat (with no working cold water mind you). At least the bathroom worked (though one sink in the bathroom was under repair, though the members said it's been like that for over a year). And this is a public court directly across the street from City Hall? Not what I would consider a first-class experience, closer to a third world one.

Due to the Red Tide beach issue, they were giving free admission the week that I was there. I thought that was really fantastic of them to do that! They have a great pool and waterslide. There is also a toddler area. The grounds looked really nice and included well kept sports fields. I saw some signs regarding different events like yoga, Back to School, and obstacle night. We went because we couldn't go to the beach but even if that wasn't the case, this would be a great place to spend a day!

You don't find this out until you return the paddle and then they tell you that if you're not buying the paddle that your deposit is nonrefundable. Not knowing this, I got scammed out of $50! They offer you a store credit. So dishonest and unethical. They should have a form that you sign that clearly states this policy! But they don't because they know that their scam won't work then! He bragged that he has done this over 300 times!

I showed the receptionist my confirmation email and even called the 1-800 number listed on the reservation, where they confirmed I did not owe anything further. Instead of handling the situation professionally, the receptionist became extremely irate, yelled and screamed at me in front of my child, then stormed off and refused to continue speaking with me. After the customer service representative spoke with him, they ended up issuing me a full refund. I am only giving one star because I cannot believe a resort would leave a woman and her child without a hotel room on Memorial Day weekend. Completely unacceptable customer service and an awful experience.

He was able to fit us in as we had lunch and was very informative about strings and their performance. Also met the owner Joe, who also has a passion for tennis and sports. Not only did Paul do a phenominal job on striniging my new Traid Three Wilson racket but did a excellent grip wrap like Ive never seen before! Paul has two children in competitive tennis and also was a competitor himself with a wealth of knowledge about equipment and the sport of tennis. I highly recommend Ace Sports they were great!
